great dermatologist + short waiting times. the doctor is very friendly and cares about how i am doing as well as my family. i have never had to wait more than 15 minutes in this office to be seen, where as other doctors i go see you wait for an hour in the waiting room before going into an examination room to wait some more.

Do NOT go here. I had 3 appts. here and from the very first one I had my doubts. Too many problems/issues to even type! If you are on this page to see what others are saying about this office in order to make your decision about going here, please find another doctor.

I definitely recommend this dermatologist office. I have had acne since I was a teen (I am now 27), but never went to a dermatologist before this year. I had large cystic acne and with a combination of a pill, night cream, and monthly treatments (extraction), my acne is gone after just 5 months. I am very grateful for this and the staff at this office is very nice, especially the front desk and the lady who performs my extraction treatments. It is important to remember that acne treatments are also a process…and some people take longer than others to clear up. I started treatments in January and medicine about 3 months ago, but the Dr. had originally quoted that my face should clear up by July. To my surprise, it has cleared up even sooner. I am a happy customer.

I went to Dr. Tien Nguyen's office in Irvine for a Photodynamic Therapy treatment for acne about a month ago. When I was there, they kept trying to sell me his own line of facial products which I would have to say is both expensive and does not consist of the highest quality ingredients. I would be better off buying Neutrogena products at the drugstore.



The worst part is that I am now pernamently scarred from his treatment. Dr. Nguyen injected a couple of my pimples with cortison injection after the PDT treatment, which I thought was odd b/c those pimples are in the late stages where you would NOT administer the cortisone shots. Most dermatologists would just extract and drain the pimples. Anyways, he gave me the shots and the one on my forehead become swollen and painful an hour after the injection. It went away after a day, however it has now left a permanent one-inch indentation on my forehead. It almost looks as though it eroded the bone on my forehead. There are many other dermatologists in Irvine/Newport area that I think is much more qualified.
