This guy has the equipment and knowledge to get the job done right! He quickly weeded though hundreds of items and separated everything out in sections explaining along the way what everything was. He used all kinds of electronic gadgets to test things and proved to us that what he said was right. He brought out books and reference articles to help us understand the values. He also told us what we could throw away and what was actually valuable which was a very big help because we had just inherited the jewelry and didn’t know anything about it. I wound up getting just about twice what I was offered at another shop. He made the other guy we saw look like a joke! If you’re looking to sell jewelry, this is the man to see!!!

We had an appraisal done for our estate by another local appraiser in South Orange County and they were way off on the values. We talked to our customer service representative at the Wells Fargo’s Trust Department and they recommended David Boggess, so we had him re-do the appraisals again. He was right on the money. Recommended!

I went 4 places to sell my diamond ring and David was the only one to tell me not to sell the mounting but to put a CZ in it since I am still married. Everyone else offered less for the whole ring than what David paid just for the diamond. David arranged to have the CZ put in my ring for me and it makes feel much better about having to give up my diamond. David is a compassionate person. I will recommend everyone I know to him.

David bid over $2,000 more than others I saw for buying my 2 carat diamond ring. He got right to the point, told me what I had, and what it was worth without any fuss. I was paid and out the door in less than 15 minutes. Next time I won’t waste my time, I'll go direct to David. I'll refer all my friends as well.

The reviews about David are absolutely correct. I went to sell him some old jewelry today and he paid me great prices. He even was honest enough to tell me not to sell one of my items, and tell me why. He is an extremely nice person and definitely cares more about people than the money, and he truly enjoys his job. He has some great stories, he should write a book! Thank you again David for being so fair and honest with me about my jewelry. My grandmother thanks you as well.

David bought my ex-diamond wedding set from me. He paid the best price I could find and was very gracious in helping me understand the how and why of the price he paid and the general market on diamonds. I look forward to doing business with him again in the future to buy a diamond from him.

I have known David Boggess as a Jewelry Appraiser/Gemologist for over 20 years. He is the finest jewelry expert I have ever worked with. In an industry filled unprofessional and unscrupulous jewelry appraisers, David is a shining example of high morals and professionalism. He has helped many of our customers learn the truth about their jewelry when no else could or would. He is truly the best in the business, and we recommended him highly!

David appraised my new engagement ring and found that the person who made it had broken the corner off the diamond under the prong. He showed it to me on his computer monitor and printed a photograph of it to take back to the jeweler that made the ring. With his help I was able to get my diamond replaced at no cost to me. I found his service in invaluable.

I went to David to sell an old diamond and ruby bracelet this week I had inherited from my aunt, and had a great experience I thought I would share. I was referred to David by a friend who had sold him some of their jewelry. When I met David he was cordial and relaxed. I showed him my bracelet and explained that I had inherited it and didn’t know what it was really worth but that I had been offered $3500 recently for it. David carefully examined it quietly for a few minutes and then looked up at me and asked me if I knew it was an old Tiffany’s piece from the 1920’s. I said no, and that no one had ever mentioned it. Not the other place I had taken it to or my aunt, and that there was no box or paperwork that came with it. David showed me the bracelet under his microscope where it was marked Tiffany & Co. He then showed me an article from a recent Sotheby’s auction where a similar item had sold. David proceeded to tell me that he would pay me $27,000 for it which was about what the similar item sold for at the auction. David didn’t have to tell me about the similar bracelet that had been sold at the auction, he knew what I had been offered before. He could have just offered me $4,000 and I would have taken his offer without looking back. David didn’t take advantage of me when he clearly could have. This is a man who really lives up to his reputation. I would without hesitation, in fact I would urge anyone looking to sell their jewelry to take it to David Boggess. It’s rare today to find someone with such moral character, and it is refreshing to know there are still people out there that do the right thing.
This is the third time I have visited David over the past few years. I had him appraise a new ring I had just purchased to make sure everything was OK. David is always the perfectionist and always finds some little bit of information I didn’t know about my jewelry. He is extremely nice and always a pleasure to visit with. I look forward to seeing him again in the future.

I went to several places trying to sell my jewelry and most of them were rude. David on the other hand was so nice. He was patient in answering my questions and polite with me the whole time. I got to see my jewelry under his microscope and he taught me about it. I liked David very much, and he seems like a good honest person.

David was great to deal with. He helped me understand the whole process of selling jewelry which made it a lot easier to part with our wedding rings. It is a difficult time for us but David was gracious and empathetic to our situation. I definitely walked away certain that we got the maximum amount for our jewelry and knew exactly what we sold to him. David’s character is the real “gem” of his operation, and that makes all the difference to us. Nice man, I recommend him.

Sold an old diamond wedding ring and diamond tennis bracelet to David. He paid more than I was offered at the jewelry store I bought them originally from.
I liked hearing all about the diamonds, what they were graded at, their value and why. Learned a lot that will help me next time I go shopping for jewelry.
I would recommend anyone selling their jewelry to definitely check David out, he’s very fair and really knows his stuff.
i was referred by my girlfriends brother to go here. this guy is unbelievable. i had tried multiple places before arriving here, and what a waist of time that turned out to be.
i want to thank you for the excellent customer service , and the educational procedure you provided for me to understand what i really have.
i will refer you to all friends, family. you were great
David appraised my new diamond engagement ring to make sure everything was OK. He has a nice office, and is pleasurable to deal with. David was very informative. I got to see my diamond and it’s inclusions on a big screen TV in his office (kind of like going to a high-tech Dentist). He found that one of the smaller diamonds on the side was chipped from when the ring was made, and he showed me which one so I could have it fixed under warranty. Finding that chipped diamond was worth the cost of the appraisal alone. David also told me the high, average, and low retail values of the ring so I could gauge whether I got a good deal or not. All in all I walked away with way more information than I thought I was going to get. I am very happy with the experience, and would recommend David to anyone looking for a jewelry appraisal.
Sold some old gold and small diamond jewelry to David. David bought not just the gold value but the diamond value as well, he was very fair with me. The two gold buyers I went to see before would only give me the gold value, and that didn’t seem right so I found David on the internet. David is more honest and fair than the others I saw.
David bought my diamond engagement ring for a very fair price. He explained everything so I could understand exactly what it was worth and why. He made me feel comfortable with the process and answered all my questions thoroughly. I recommend him highly.
