I have been getting my hair braided here for the past 5 years. Considering what salons charge in the bigger cities and the time that these ladies spend, Mai's costs are very cheap. The fact that the ladies that braid hair are allowed to bring their children to work is admirable. (considering if this were a corporation, it would be called a "family friendly" workplace). They take my suggestions and make changes midstream if I request it. As with any hair salon, you have to speak up, let them know what you want, otherwise you get what you get. They are very respectful when they do take lunch breaks and breaks and most of the time I need one myself anyway. Keep up the good work Mai!

First off please please find a babysitter while conducting business. This shop seems to be a daycare. Kids running and crying and fighting with one another. Then as I sat there she kicked off her shoes in order to break the hair. Very nasty people here. They take too many breaks that is why they tell you 8 to 10 hours because they have to other things besides braid your hair. Horrible experience. Never will return here.
The best African hair braiding shop I have ever been to. I have been a customer for four years and I always get compliments on my braids. Mai is really nice and I have developed a friendship with her and her staff. If you are looking for somewhere to get your hair braided Mai's is the place to go for professional hair braiding. Highly recommended.
First, this was the most annoying hair appointment I EVER had. If you're working....find a babysitter.quite unprofessional. Then, I'm sitting in the chair and the braider kicks off her shoe and put her bare a$$ foot on the arm of the chair I was sitting in. Then,a lunch break, not a substitution...a complete halt. It should never take 9 hours for a set of micros with two people working on your head.I'll definitely stick with Venus.
