This bakery has been opened since I remember. It is nearby my home, but I never gave much attention to it. My mother used to bring me some sweets from Zomick's Bakery when I was a kid. When I grew up I forgot about it. The other day I was remembered of the awesome taste of the Zomick's challah bread. Boy do those bring back memories.
I am giving it a 4 star rating because I am not a daily visitor there. I go once a month and there always is a crowd ahead of me and I don't like that.
To quote Pink Floyd: "There is no sensation to compare with this..." - I believe that this is the case here.
We went at Zomick's Kosher Bakery for a brunch, somewhere in February this year, and I've never had high hopes for the place. But I was proven wrong. I saw some sweet pastries from the outside, and (as a sugar junkie) I was tempted to try some. Well to say this in the short version, my friends who brought me here wanted to go, and I wanted to stay.
The pure and simple tastes of the delicious fruity pastries were amazing. It's been a long time since I last had such a great time while on brunch.
This has really made my day, so I went back home and found out that these guys make online deliveries.
For one of the best days of my life - here is 5 stars ... Deserved!
The place is fairly remoted, but has everything that you would expect from a kosher bakery. I liked the the view from the front and the first sight was also enchanting... tons of breads, pastries and cakes. The price seems fair, taken into account several parameters (that I will not explicitly write about here), plus the place feels solid & clean, it seems cleanliness is really important here.
The bagels were my first choice and I was not let down! Next time I'm keen to experience that Zomick's Challah recipe in my kitchen.
When I first ate in this bakery I thought that it was only a bakery in transition, a bakery which is living on old glory, a bakery with no future.
Boy, was I wrong. The very next year Zomick's Bakery spread out their wings and opened a new baking facility in Inwood.
There I found a nice array of baked products and almost all of them were kosher. I wish I knew earlier that this place would suit me well.
For the price - there in't a better option, really.
The place gets really crowded, but other than that I prefer this restaurant over the others. I also prefer the whole wheat Zomick's bread over the regular challah, which is their main attraction. Prices are low, service is good and the food is excellent. When I travel to New York, I always visit this place.
Long story made short... If you want to try something new (I mean if kosher is something new for you), or something sweet for a price less then a McDonalds meal, then Zomick's Kosher Bakery is the place for you.
Bagels, donuts, cookies are my favorites. The place works till 2PM in Fridays - don't forget that.
I like the way this bakery bakes things. They are nice and crispy. Especially like the Zomick's Challah.
The Zomick's Bread I ate was magnificent the other day. I know it's called Zomick's Challah Bread, or simply Zomick's Challah, but hey - who can remember a name this long. The magnificence of the taste of the famous Jewish kitchen is embedded deeply into the Zomick's Challah Recipe and you can actually feel that there is a tradition behind this, that it wasn't just invented over night.
For a one digit price tag I guarantee that you cannot find a bread this tasty... well maybe in other French restaurants, but they do not taste like this.
I know that I use this phrase a lot, but all I can say about Zomick's is absolutely stunning. I am on a diet, so I ordered a small whole wheat bread the other day, and believe me that for the price below 2$ you can't find a better piece whole wheat bread in New York.
I came home, did a little research and found out that this bakery makes a whole bunch of other breads. Amazing!
I visited this place last Thursday. They had some of the most amazing chocolate babka that I've ever tasted. Planning on going there this Thursday.
Zomicks Bakery are one of the finest Challah makers in all over USA. I love their Challah and baked Cakes.
