I like this Publix a lot. I give 4 stars for selection because the muffin selection isn't what it used to be (but that's all Publixes these days). People are very friendly there although they just hired some new guy cashier who peppers you with personal questions and talks to you like you don't have enough money to pay for your groceries. I've been going to Publix from Florida to South Carolina for 25 years, probably longer than he's been alive, and I think I've given enough business to the place to not be talked down to like that. I mean, I can give Publix less and less business if it would make his job that my business helps provide easier! Just scan the items, say have a nice day with a little bit of thoughtfulness, and be done with it. Where are the self scan Publixes in Florida? But that's just 1 person. Have to blow off steam here. Overall a solid 5-star Publix!
The "not a problem" response is so old by now. It just rubs me and a lot of people the wrong way. It makes you feel like your business is being tolerated, not appreciated. When you are doing someone a favor and not getting paid, you say "not a problem." And cashiers are a little nosy but maybe they mean well...............
Very good experience today. The checkout clerk, Michael, was very helpful with an issue I had regarding a certain type of cat food that my cat likes. Kudos to Publix for having such a wonderful exployee.
