I've been a client for nearly 10 years. I come in about every 2-3 weeks for a pedicure and fill, or new set as needed. There have definitely been positive changes since the new management took over! Tony is the current tech I prefer for new sets or fills; he is sociable without being annoying and speedy without messing up or hurting you. I have never had any problems with a fill/set he has done, but have had some issues with a couple others. In particular, one tech was asleep and literally _snoring_ on the couch when I arrived and they woke her up to do my nails!!!! WTF?! I should have spoken up about it, but I didn't feel comfortable. For pedicures, Charlie is great and Paul is absolutely awesome- they actually give a lengthy, diligent massage and are super nice guys who make you feel very relaxed. If there's any sort of problem going on with your feet, they notice, explain the ins & outs of it and do their best to correct the issue for you. Price is very competitive/fair/reasonable. As of this review, I pay $15/fill, $25/new set, $30/pedi, but those are, of course, subject to change. I strongly suggest you MAKE AN APPOINTMENT; it is frequently busy here. If you call and schedule, they'll take you before the walk-ins, regardless of when they signed in. I think that is the confusion in the cases of some reviewers here complaining about others being taken before them or feeling like there was "cherry-picking" going on. Those taken ahead probably called ahead; you should too! Most importantly, this establishment is clean; the techs follow the laws and licenses are displayed. All in all, quality is a lot better than most other shops like this and way more affordable than a spa/salon.

I'm the kind of person that always checks out reviews before I go somewhere. I had moved to the East side of Indy several months ago, and was a little skeptical about going to a salon there, I still drove to Greenwood to get my nails done. I decided to try CV nails because it is close to my house . The first few times I went for a mani/pedi it was very busy and I spent almost 2 hours total time in the salon. However, the staff is very friendly, always remembers when you come back. However, I have learned, not all nail salons are the same. If you like your nails a certain shape, length, etc. you must not be afraid to speak up. You are paying for the service. I recently started getting gel manicures here and they last almost 2 weeks. Last night, the gentleman started to apply the color and I did not like it. He told me no problem, and found a color I liked! I went on a Thursday evening and was in and out in 30 minutes for gel polish removal/and new gel manicure! If you go on a Friday evening or Saturday you will wait longer, that's a given. If you are not from the area you will not think this place is 5 star, it is not the "nicest looking salon " you will see, but I go there for their friendliness and convenience.
FYI, this business is now K's Nail Spa under new ownership in Geist. Well, I just received the best gel nail manicure...ever! Gel nail manicures are the new hot thing but it can go wrong if not done correctly. I've been to several places, including BB on 96th street and vveryone has done an okay job but have never been 100% satisfied. I made an appointment with Katie whom impressed me with her quality of work. Katie shapped my nails and cleaned up my cutticles PERFECTLY, which is crucial in growing strong long nails, something not everyone can do. I picked out an opaque white, which is ideal for grow out, and topped it off with a pink clear coat at Katie's suggestion. My nails look natural (better than a french manicure, but are now strong as nails. I tipped her BIG for paying such close attention to the details. I was excited! So it goes without saying that I highly recommend K's Nails in our neighborhood in the Geist shopping center next to Marsh, Specks & CVS. Make sure to call ahead and make an appointment with KATIE as she books up fast. Plus, I also like the fact I'm giving my business to a neihborhood establishment here in the Geist area.
Man, Im walking around swinging this hair y'all !!!! I've passed this place for a few urs I lived near the area never knew that there was a chair in there for me, a black girl.Ik ow Dominican's are similar to me in color and hair wise but I thought it was Spanish ONLY. Let me tell you, I ecstatic that I've found this place. I believe it was Ms Eveylin who did my hair. I wear weave all the time I love it but I want to sew in weave no hair glue. I wanted to start fresh but my hair had been so damaged. It was a good length but it was dry, NAPPY and hard.. They gave my hair life.. It's so beautiful I swear I wouldnt type it if it wasn't. I'm so serious, my hair hasn't been permed in almost six months that lady has my hair trimmed and bone straight better than any salon has done with a perm. I feel so good about my hair growing, thanks to this salon I don't have to wear a nappy dry short ponytail or a wig just bc my hair is growing. Definitely going back. Think Imma get a co,or next time too !! Oh yeah one more thing it was under 40$ YES under40$!!!
To the dissatisfied customer that says that Eric has a bad attitude. There must have been a reason or reasons that you failed to mention in your review. Maybe YOU were late to your appointment and didn't bother to call. Or maybe you thought you rescheduled but you forgot to call? I'm just saying, there are always two sides to every story. Eric is a professional and should be treated as such by giving value to his time and schedule too. I have been a satisfied client for over 5 years and Eric ALWAYS does a stellar job on my pink & white nails & my pedicures. I recommend Eric to everyone that complements me on my nails and I recommend him to anyone reading this review. All that is asked is that if you make an appointment, be ON TIME because it affects the clients following you & if you are late, it throws my scheduled time off and that is just not right. So, with that being said, I appreciate that Eric insists on clients being on time. It helps me plan my time. Eric, YOU ROCK!! Sondra in Carmel, IN
I have struggled for many years to find a great salon that I love and trust with my hair. I work DT and happened to walk by Just Hair one day after work. I thought what the heck I will give this place a try. I scheduled my appointment and the rest is history. I have been going to Just Hair for a year now and will never need another salon. Zach and Stacy are amazing stylist and I recomend you make an appointment with one of them. In the past I always felt like washing previous styles out at other salons immediatly after getting home. Just Hair isn't just any salon though....if your ready for a night out on the town right after getting a cut, highlights or style don't worry you will look fabulous. Seriously, my hair has never looked better and I always get compliments, even from other stylist. So if you have been thinking about trying a new place Just Hair is it. :O)
My family has been using tHairapy Salon (and before that Absolute Style) for over 7 years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. They have a variety of stylists, and we've used several over the years all with great results. The stylists listen to our concerns, make recommendations, and execute their services with professionalism, even taking extra time days later to make it right if needed. When my daughter dyed her own hair and was ready to switch back, Trisha spent hours working to help restore her color. My husband has very difficult, curly hair, and this is the only salon he's been excited to return to. For me, I love the recommendations to new styles and always receive compliments and inquiries. The salon is an active member of the community, supporting the local schools and festivals. Come check them out at the Irvington Halloween Festival.
Great place, a little sparse on interior decoration, but it looks like they are just getting on their feet. Very clean place. I spoke with the one employee (manager? owner? her son was the only other person there) and she knew her stuff. She has been doing threading for five years. She recommended castor oil for thin outer part of my eyebrows. During the appointment she was very careful while threading, but quick. She trimmed the length of the hairs, shaped and cleaned up around my eyebrows then had me check them. She needed a little guidance on what shaping I wanted, but I got the impression that she wouldn't thread extra hair unless I was specific about shaping and such. I was in and out in about 10 min. Very cheap for good quality. She charged me $7 and I gave her $10.
I am a student at Honors Beauty College. I am currently enrolled in the Esthetics program. I am about 1/2 way through the program which at Honors is 800 hrs. Honors program for Esthetics requires 100 more hours than the state of In. requires, due to the fact that they also offer the ITEC program, which is international certification. This is a really good school with very high standards, which is kinda hard to find with beauty schools. there is a lot to learn and a lot to do, but I know that when I graduate I will have had the best education I could get. It can be tough sometimes, but I really love what I am doing. I know that I will get a good job and be successful because of my education and training at Honors Beauty College. Good school! Good education!
