Worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. Our water heater was broken for 2 1/2 weeks with a work order in, then had to confront the assistant manager to get it fixed (LOVE the maintenance staff though). My fiancé and I are going to court next week with their attorney because the apartment complex scammed us out of 1.5k and the assistant manager, Alexandra, kicked me out of their pool because of that and also threatened to lock the both of us and my young stepson out of our home by switching the locks without notice to us. After the first time at their dog park, I had to pull 7 dog ticks off of my dogs and MYSELF. Parking is terrible, always have to park 3-4 buildings away from my own. Trash is even worse. Rarely ever cuts the grass and trees hang into parking spots. I’ve told all my friends to steer clear of this complex but they apparently already knew to avoid this place. Don’t waste your time or money as we have. The staff will try to manipulate your renting rights. We’ve been here for not even 2 months and we’re leaving already.

The employees are very rude and the maintenance doesn't finish their projects. This place is a complete waste of your money you'll regret choosing scandia!

Don't Waste Your Money

Our apartment is a good size. Ancient appliances.

The issue is the management. They try to get as much money out of you as possible. We have seen 2 increases in our ""water bill"" (included in rent). Note: we pay as much in water as a home with sprinkler system. Maintenance is beyond slow. You often have to call 3 or 4 times in order for something to get fixed. Gretta was the best office staff- but they moved her. We get notes on our door about once a month asking for more money based on some BS. We originally signed with the old owners and I don't think all of our lease terms were carried over with the new owners. This place is a rip off. If you are interested in being nickel and dimed- live here.

I continue to be happy here. :)

I have been here for going on two years and have been happy with my apartment. I got a remodeled penthouse (which I prefer over the standard, but I am picky) and I haven't had any problems. I had one complaint to the staff about my neighbor playing their music too loudly, but they talked to them about it and I honestly think that they just didn't realize they were being that loud (first apartment I later found out). I LOVE my view, I can see the river, and have windows from front to back, so tons of sun light, which is awesome. ...that's all. :)

NO GOOD AT ALL

these apartments are really good for there size. When we went touring of the apartment_we requested to have the penthouse with the fir place. The day of move in_she showed us a penthouse with no fireplace. We mentioned that this was not the apartment showed or requested. Our sales representative said ""O i swiched your apartments because I FELT it was better for you. After a few words and a long discussion and serveral trips back to the apartment complex_we got switched into the correct apartment. When i moved in_it was love @ first site for the spacious rooms and the view i got from my window. the fireplace was just an extreme plus for me because i've never had that in my apartment before. Once i moved in_my expectations of Scandia went down. When we intially moved in, our apartments were suppose to switch the electricity in our name and never did. Futher into the situation we got charged fee's that were not credited back to us for the apartments not getting the bill switched into our names! My power constantly shut off at random times, my power outlets never worked on one side of the room or in one room in general. my dryer had to be ran 3 times before my clothes were dry. i also had issues where we had a rodent problem coming in through our fernis. our apartment manager told us that they would only send out a pest control specialist if another rodent came out again. Our apartment was not venalated nor had our fire extenguisher been checked since 2008. There are more things i could say about Scandia but the most important i would like to put out there is that you can compare the apartments to a terrible gift, the box is huge with beautiful wrapper on it but when you unwrap the gift, it's NOTHING like you expected.

Just Not Good

Great big apartments and great layouts. Bad staff and security. This complex has one of the highest crime rankings in NE Indy. The staff hides it because it is so high and that makes it even worse because breakins just keep on going with nothing happening. We are moving out because of all the crime and bad service. It is a shame because they are big apartments but it is not worth my life just for a big place.

Scandia Apts is NOT recommended

The only thing Scandia has to offer is large apartments. There is nothing else good about Scandia. Scandia has a well earned reputation of giving everything to new tenants, and gives absolutely nothing to long standing tenants. Loyal, long standing tenants have a difficult time getting anything at all out of the Scandia management. That includes simple things like any paint at all on the walls after ten or fifteen years of residency; no new carpeting after ten years. The policy when we moved in was new carpeting every five years. That policy was changed after we moved in. We were promised updated kirchen cabinets six or seven years ago. We found out two or three years ago that every vacanted apt had updated kitchen caninets; we never received them.
The manager and assistant manager of Scandia both left the year after we moved in to Scandia. They both said they were leaving because of the way AMICO wants them to treat loyal residents. Namely, everything for the new tenants, nothing for the loyal tenants who have been here for years.
You have to move out of Scandia and then back in to get your apt painted, updated anything, new carpeting, or to get anything else.
I have tried to figure out how much Scandia saves on loyal, long term tenants in terms of no updating, carpeting or painting for decades. The apt above me has had 100% wall to wall carpeting and repainting four or five times while we have lived here. They also have the updates like new kitchen cabinets and we have no idea what else. We have gotten ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. And that the truth!
COME ON, MOVE TO SCANDIA ... you can be treated this way too!
