This bakery refused to place an order by a group of gay students. Apparently having a rainbow on some cookies is obscene.
What is obscene is the level of homophobia that goes on in the US in general, and the Midwest in particular. Such a behavior is unacceptable, and I am glad to see the gay community being mobilized against this sort of discrimination and homophobia.

I went here a few weeks ago while I was on vacation. Terrible cookies! The cookies were burnt on the bottom and they tasted pretty dry. I decided to try some of the cookies my friend bought and they were equally terrible. As bad as the cookies were though, the service was worse! How this place stays in business I don't know. Don't be fooled -- it's not ""Just Cookies"" it's ""Just Terrible"".

So sad that homophobia still exists. To those of you who do not accept homosexuals in your lives I feel sorry for you. You are missing out on many great people. It's okay. I will accept your gay brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, children, friends, co-workers, leaders, teachers, husbands and wives. Remember, IT GETS BETTER!

Thank you Dave & Lilly for standing up for your values. I highly repect you for what you have done. A small business owner has every right to employ their family Christian values and you have done so in a very respectful way.
You were my first employer ever when I was in high school many years ago. I worked for you at the store at Eastgate Mall and would do it again with pride. Thank you!
God bless you and your family!

It is so sad to see this happen here in Indianapolis, where we have such a large gay population. Just Cookies may have been making the decision based on their morals, but where are their ethics? Is it right to discriminate? This business probably discriminates against gays with hiring as well.. I am very disappointed in what has happened and I am enthusiastic that the city is investigating. A “family run business”, he acts as if gays don't have families. This is not a heterosexual hate community posting these comments, these are people within the community disheartened and sadden by what has happened, with hope that we can move past it. In all honesty however, I hope that Just Cookies goes under and realizes what kind of mistake was made. Just Cookies, Just Sucks… My family and I will be going to the Flying Cupcake from here on out. Support Equality!!
P.S. As a side note, I have had the cookies from here, and they truly are nothing special.
Dear Just Cookies-
My family and I stand behind you 100%. We think that you had the right to make that choice. Our church, Grace Assembly of God, also stands behind you. We must take a stand against this pressure the world sends to support sin. We will pray for your business to prosper. We will patronize your store, when we are able. May God continue to bless you in all that you do.
Sincerely, Don Sanders & family
Way to go!! Thanks for not crumbling under a not-so-sweet issue. Your response to the cupcake request was genuine, to-the-point, and not harsh or critical.
Remember that you are not alone. Business profits all aside, you stood for what really matters. Your girls need that far more than a good profit margin.
Speaking of business, we're trying to contact from Ohio to place an order!
I commend you for taking a stand. It is refreshing to see someone stand up for their principles instead of caving to the pressure of the liberal thugs! I came to the site to see if you ship out of state and place an order. Your mayor may not be supportive, but you definately have supporters across the country!
Modern society is on a very slippery slope. Just Cookies- you are caught right in the middle of that. Please know there are many of us praying for you. You took a stand. You are not alone. Daniel wouldn't stop praying and Eric Liddell wouldn't run on Sunday. Or how about J.Matt Barber, who was fired as Manager of Allstate Insurance Agency in Illinois because he wrote an article during his time off regarding marriage between a man and a woman and his Christian beliefs.
Stay the course- you are not alone and you have many supporters!

I live in North Carolina but I wanted to say thank you for standing on your convictions NOT to serve the radical homosexual agenda. That took a lot of courage. I truly appreciate your strength and character and will make it a point to share this with my friends as well as place orders with you if you ship products. My hat is off to both of you!
Way to go, for sticking to your beliefs. It actually sounds like your were set-up, after all, they went into a cookie place and asked for cupcakes, and specifically mentioned the event that the CUPCAKES were for. You can't tell me you weren't targeted.
This exact type situaltion is happening all over the country, it's not by accident...it's what Bullies do! Stand firm and be wise to what they are trying to do.
I felt led to say that I totally support your decision! As business owners I feel we have the right to say no to someone asking us to display our products or use them for events that are contrary to our belief system. You did the right thing. I will pray that God will give you peace, comfort, wisdom, and support from those around you to make it through these next days.
Be proud of what you have done. Your daughter will be proud of you! If I lived closer, I would tell every friend I had to go and buy cookies from your shop!! Too bad you aren't closer to Colorado.
Blessings to you!
