Electricity out for 12 hours on Friday with 1400 people without power. The city & north side got power back on first. Waverly was in the last 300 to get power restored. Surprise! Forget us " country folks" we don't need power as much as some rich guy up north. Now its tuesday, powers been out for almost 4 hours. Haven't seen a IPL truck at all. There are over 10,000 without power this time. So any bet takers we may see electricity by christmas? Why is IPL still in business? They need to be investigated & fined. They raise rates, don't use any of it to make upgrades or repairs & are rude. But power goes out they ask us customers to "be patient". Would they "be patient" if I paid my bill like they keep their power supply on. I have NEVER lived anywhere that the electric is out so much. And they have false advertising. Anyone seen the commercial "At IPL we think the best time to deal with an outage is before it happens" Seriously? They don't even deal with it when it happens. Spit on it , wrap it in duct tape & hope it works. Maybe we, the customers should get $$ back for every hour we're without power. Bet they'd get it back on quicker. What do you think $20 an hour sound fair. I think we should have a choice which electric company we use. I'd go with anyone else. IPL is a Horrible company. I would give 1/4 star if I could. They don't deserve any more than that. Oh, to get a live person I had to trick them & call the billing line. Otherwise its just a computer & it gives you a a lie then hangs up on you.

This company is horrible I return home after the VA and found out my service was shut off no disconnect notice nothing when I called in they said that it was for nonpayment we made a payment on January after being on the phone for 20 mins I found out they had 2 numbers wrong on our account which we have used that account many times before to pay our electric bill they never sent us a shut off notice they told me they mailed it out no they didn't all we received was the new bill for January now my family has to stay in a hotel until we get the power back on we they told us the same as they told us the same as the did the other people who experience the bullying from IPL the lady told me if I not happy call URC they just don't care.
I am a 22 yr Army Veteran medical retired 100% disable this is how your treated after serving your country Thank God I was not doing Dialysis I have end stage renal kidney failure now I have to pay reconnect fee. Can anybody help us against this company.

Worst power company ever! I blame company heads. A fish rots from the head down. They have no compassion for clients. And will let you know that they don't care. They don’t provide any weekend emergency billing issues. If a customer is disconnected on a Friday, you have to wait till Monday to get any assistance. Even then they don’t guarantee when the services will be connected, Advising it will be reconnected within 48hrs. That =’s 4 days without electricity. Where does that leave the communities most vulnerable IPL customer (senior citizens and low income families)? I understand their objective is to make a profit, but in this type of business, shouldn’t there be some sort of obligation to their vulnerable clients during the winter months. In Indy IPL is the only provider of electric service, (a monopoly) and use this to their advantage. In other states there are a variety of other electric companies a customer can use including prepaid electric and meters.

Customer service is horrid. Don't bother trying to call them with a question about anything, they won't have an answer. If you are late by one day, you can expect your power to be turned off even if you are not on a disconnect notice. This company is as bad as Comcast.

Worst power company I've ever had to deal with! If you live in Indy go where they are not your power provider. Been waiting on power for over 24 hours and all they will tell you on the phone is they have guys out till 9pm. I told them it sounds like you don't have enough guys to service all your customers and the response I get is we have more than enough. What the heck????? Get me power then!!! Terrible company! Stay away from them!!!!

Today was a great day I met a lady name Ms. Bryant who works for Indpls Power Light she was so helpful and polite we need more people like her when you call in to get help. Thank You Ms. Bryant

IPL service

They are just awful on service and I never received a bill and they say I was sent out 2 bills (ok) one that I payed the amount that was due for non disconnection and the next was for another payment for October 1st and that was sent out September middle of the month and now my service has been shut off because of their mistake and now I have to pay full amount that is due for reconnection service I never had a problem with any other light company until I got IPL anybody know any other light companies besides IPL that i can go with and when I signed up I never received contract or was told that the box was electronic so they don't send nobody out to read the meter but I did see somebody come out and read it and they say they don't then who was in my yard reading my meter in their uniform please explain that to me in there light company trucks with IPL on it to so if you know any other Light companies besides this one company for light let me know that has better service and that will send out bills on time thank you. Someone that can help me with budget billing as well and won't be based on my income or my credit.

THIS COMPANY IS GETTING A BAD REVIEW THEY TURNED OFF ARE LIGHTS AND HAD BEEN GAUGING ARE BILL MY HUSBAND PAID THIS COMPANY TWICE LAST MONTH AND THINKS THAT THERE IS MORE MONEY TO KEEP PAYING THE BILL THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND THE FINANCIAL SITUATION WE HAVE DO NOT MOVE TO INDY! GO TO ANOTHER COUNTY OUTSIDE OF THIS ONE BETTER COMPANIES AT LEAST THEY GIVE YOU TIME TO PAY YOUR BILL IPL DOES NOT THEY SHUT OFF PEOPLE'S LIGHTS. THEY TURNED OUR'S OFF AND WE HAVE CHILDREN AND I CONTACTED URC ON THEM AND NO ONE IS WANTING TO CALL BACK THAT'S OK GREG ZOELLERS OFFICE IS GETTING CALLED ON THEM OVER THIS SITUATION WITH THIS RIDICULOUS LIGHT BILL.
