The practice was built on the philosophy that every patient deserves medical care that not only delivers excellent results but is sensitive to the individual's needs and goals.
Franciscan Physician Network doctors are involved in several revolutionary procedures including da Vinci robotic surgery and XLIF minimally invasive spinal fusion surgery, as well as laser treatments and clinical trials of cancer-fighting drugs.
Franciscan Physician Network Indy Southside Surgical began with the establishment of Mandelbaum Surgical, P.C. in 1989 by board certified surgeons (and brothers) David Mandelbuam, M.D., and Jonathan Mandelbaum, M.D. With the addition of Donald King, M.D., in 1995 Indy Southside Surgical was formally established with its main office on the Franciscan St. Francis-Indianapolis campus.
FPN Indy Southside Surgical includes a total of five board certified general surgeons. With more than 78 years of surgical experience, the members share a strong commitment to excellence and the delivery of patient-centered care.
The group prides itself on utilization of the latest surgical techniques, including tissue-conservation and sentinel lymph node biopsy in the treatment of breast disease and minimally invasive procedures for obesity, colorectal disease and other digestive tract disorders.

THIS OFFICE STAFF IS VERY BAD..THEY DO NOT FORWARD YOUR MESSAGES TO THE SURGEON. I HAVE USED THIS OFFICE STAFF FOR TWO VERY DIFFERENT SURGERIES THIS YEAR. AND IT WAS THE SAME.. I HAD AN ALLERGIC REACTION TO AN ANTIBIOTIC AND COULDNT EVEN GET HELP FROM THE OFFICE STAFF TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE DOCTOR. SECONDLY THE PAIN MEDICINE THAT WAS PROVIDED WAS NOT WORKING. I WAS HOT AND SWEATY AND IT WAS NOT WORKING OR I WAS HAVING ANOTHER REACTION TO THE MEDICINE.. I WAS TOLD BY A MEMBER OF THE STAFF TO CONTINUE TAKING IT.. MY INCISION ALSO CAME OPEN AND I WAS TOLD TO JUST CONTINUE ON.. OVER TWO WEEKS NOW AND NO FOLLOW UP VISIT REQUESTED.
