Founded in 1893 by 10 young women from Lombard College in Galesburg, Ill., Alpha Xi Delta is a national organization dedicated to the personal growth and development of women. It is one of the oldest women organizations in the United States with more than 120,000 initiated members. The organization operates through college chapters at more than 115 institutions and over 95 alumni associations and is one of the 10 founding members of the National Panhellenic Conference. Alpha Xi Delta offers scholarships, grants and awards for academic development and community service programs for its members. The organization accepts donations in the form of loyalty funds, planned gifts, endowments, matching gifts and sponsorships. It is based in Indianapolis.
