My grandfather was transferred from ICU to this facility. This facility is grossly and dangerously understaffed and this has been demonstrated time and time again. The severe neglect started happening within less than 24 hours. The neglect started within 24 hours of him staying there. He pushed the assistance call button attached to his bed to request help to get up and go to the bathroom A staff member came in and said she would be right back with someone to help him. She never came back. He had an accident in the bed because they neglected his needs. Then, he was forced to sit in his own fecal matter for over 3 hours, and they even served him his lunch while sitting in his own fecies. 3 hours later a speech therapist came in and got someone right away to wash him and clean it up. She said that she would tell the administrator on Monday. This was during Easter weekend. he went to pay the barber for his haircut, he opened his wallet to be completely empty. Someone STOLE HIS MONEY!!!!
GREAT place & GREAT people who care!!
So far it's been an experience, to say the least. They tell the doctors that they are capable of taking care of people with special needs, but that is only to get the beds filled. Once there the staff is nice to family, but completely clueless. They over drug the patients and when someone gets out of control they ship them off to the wrong hospital (3 times now). Sadly I may have to put Dad back there until another place decides to take him.
The post from marilynshope sounds like a disgrunteled employee. My mother resides here, and she loves it, and WE love our mother being there. It's beautiful. Staff is professional and caring and friendly. If they fired 5 people like marilynshope's post stated, it was undoubtedly because they put their resident's above all else.
Remarkable hospice facility. I would recommend this facility to any friend or loved one!
Your staff and facility have been a true blessing to our family. Thank you for your support through all this.
It is never easy coping with death and the last times spent with someone you love is never easy. During this process with my was not easy, but having the staff at New Hope was such a blessing they did so much for our family
New Hope Hospice is truly a wonderful facility, staff were very comforting. I couldn't have made it through this rough time without them.
Most of the nursing staff was dedicated. CNA's were iffy. Their accounting local people were good but OMG, corporate accounting was messed up. We got bills that we didn't owe for over a year after he died.I had a night shift nurse call me and said he wasn't breathing well. My first question to her was: Did you call 911? She hadn't. I was livid that she wasted time calling me first even though it was policy to call 911 immediately.
Great facility. Staff were very comforting in a time where it really mattered to my family. Thank you for everything you did for our uncle. We couldn't have asked for a better group of people and facility for him in his last couple months.
