Idk if it is still open but I went here years ago. I was with my ex. He was a fem guy & I am trans. “Annie” grabbed her broom & approached us with it like she was ready to swing at us. She told us to Get Out Now. We didn’t do anything wrong & we had spent plenty of money in there on prior visits. I said “are you for real?” & she repeated “Get Out Now.” So even though I had never exhibited any disrespect or bad customer habits, considering the moment I dropped the items I was going to be buying right where I was & responded with the B word as my boyfriend & I left. Never went back & I made sure to tell everyone I knew. I hope she went out of business because of her intolerance to public, especially for being in Irvington area. I don’t see the signs anymore from the street. Sending away your paying customers is bad for business anywhere.
ITS A MADHOUSE!! Bring good gloves due to lots of broken glass from people tossing everything around.
Great place but you have to dig!! We resell on eBay and can get stuff here for pennies and can make great money. It's dirty and a little rough but fun and totally worth it!!
Manager needs additional training on how to deal with customers who are yelling obscenities to the manager. This "shopper" was walking through out the store making other shoppers uncomfortable. I had, had enough of listening to this woman and told her to stop and shut-up or I was going to take her out like she was threatening to do to the manager. This manager was putting patrons, her team members and herself at harm. It is not uncommon in our society today of hearing someone threatening someone and then attacking individuals. she has worked for Goodwill Industries for years. I believe that the Manager at 6775 S. Emerson Store needs additional training. Before I said anything to this woman who was causing this commotion that went on for more than 20 minutes the Manager did nothing to ask her to leave the store or call 911. It was only when I had the guts to tell the woman to stop and shut her mouth or I was going to take her out like the way she was threatening the manager, then and only then, did the Manager do ANYTHING, she asked us to leave which I did and so did several other patrons, who thanked me for saying something, that she decided and announced that she was going to call the police. It took several minutes after I left that this woman, her 2 small children and a male with her left the store. I patronize MANY stores within Marion, Hendricks and Johnson counties not to mention, I use the Goodwill website. Give the manager additional training or replace her with someone who is going to manage the store and insure the safety of patrons, team members and the managerial staff.
When I was shopping here I saw plastic containers with a mix of random beads. I peeled back the tape on several of them to see the beads because many were not transparent. As I was doing so I was yelled at by a women with a very dirty look on her face. She said "Do not open those!". I told her that I could not see the merchandise, and there was no response from her. I asked to speak to the manager and told her how rude her employee was to me. She assumed the worst: that I was planning to shoplift. I have worked customer service and now work in public service, and I know this is not the way to treat others ethically nor in the business world. This is supposedly an organization for a missionary cause yet I was treated like a criminal. I suggested they put signs up asking customers to ask for assistance rather than yelling at them for trying to see items for sale. The manager told me that signs do not work because customers don't read them. I said that I knew this would not work for everyone. In my profession I know this will not solve the problem, but it would prevent such horrible customer service and cover their backs in instances like this. When I left they still had not put up a sign. All I was given was a "sorry" when I had first told them how I felt but nothing further. Great prices and ideas, but wow-I will not be shopping there again!
This store has a good selection of everything. I just don't understand why some of the prices are so high especially when everything was donated for free!! A bit over priced for a thrift store!!
Large place with great selection. No there's not a dressing room but you can also return things that don't fit. :-) I love that they have things separated by size. The prices are better than Goodwill and go to help our veterans. It's a win-win!
Ur cashiers need to be trained in personable skills. They no longer say hello, nor speak at all. They completely stop giving u Ur total verbally. Need to do better ppl
Do not buy furniture from this store and try to pick up later same day. They WILL RE-SALE your item before you come back and WILL NOT MARK IT SOLD. If you don't believe me call Ms. Tori and she will confirm this truth.
Don't buy from here and pick up later. They WILL NOT mark the item sold and WILL re-sale the item before you come back to pick up the item. If you don't believe me call the manager Ms. Tori and she will confirm this truth.
