Idk if it is still open but I went here years ago. I was with my ex. He was a fem guy & I am trans. “Annie” grabbed her broom & approached us with it like she was ready to swing at us. She told us to Get Out Now. We didn’t do anything wrong & we had spent plenty of money in there on prior visits. I said “are you for real?” & she repeated “Get Out Now.” So even though I had never exhibited any disrespect or bad customer habits, considering the moment I dropped the items I was going to be buying right where I was & responded with the B word as my boyfriend & I left. Never went back & I made sure to tell everyone I knew. I hope she went out of business because of her intolerance to public, especially for being in Irvington area. I don’t see the signs anymore from the street. Sending away your paying customers is bad for business anywhere.
After having a not-so-great experience at some other bridal stores in town, I went here on a whim - and I'm so glad I did! I was looking for something nontraditional, and Amy helped me find something perfect. They had a lot of traditional gowns to choose from, too. I never thought I would buy my wedding dress on consignment, but it turned out to be a great decision!
I had my wedding dress here on consignment and once my time was up before it was considered donated I picked it up. I asked them where the bag was and was told they did not keep the bag. Then I asked where the sleeves an extra fabric was and they informed me that they was sure they would locate them and that they are just doing a lot of moving around and to call back. I called back approximately 2 weeks later and they told me that they had found the sleeves. I went in and they tried to give me the wrong sleeves. I told her that was not the sleeve and she tried to convince that they were. I showed her a picture and she tried to convince me that she never was given those sleeves. Instead of admitting that they lost all of my stuff she continued to try to convince me that she never had them and that the sleeves she was trying to give me where mine. Very disappointed.
This business (both locations) is amazing--both for consigning and for buying! I've never seen such beautiful and unique stuff on consignment. It's true that consignment doesn't always mean used. Some of the inventory is brand new, and it's all displayed in such a fun and idea-provoking way. They move things around frequently to be sure to showcase items and to give shoppers ideas on how to layer and group decor. I've made a lot of money consigning and have spent most of it buying here! There are some other nice fine furnishing consignment shops, but Consigned by Design is my only choice for consignment.
This furniture consignment store is best-in-class. The owners know the business and fair market value, they are delightful to work with, whether you are buying or consigning your own things. Everything in both stores is displayed tastefully and markdowns are clearly a visible. The staff is friendly and the owner is smart, savvy and knows her business.
Staff is really friendly and the furniture is good. They have a huge selection. The prices are little bit too high, but you can wait for markdowns. They always have new stuff and I have been very happy shopping here.
A course in customer service would do this group well. They are very rude and act like they are stars on the show Storage Wars. I recommend going elsewhere even if it costs more, you will be happier.
