Our Club is closed South Beach Fitness is open and welcomes you.It is less expensive and nicer facility. One mile north of the old our club.
Not sure why people are complaining. Staff has always been nice to me and the gym is always clean. I would highly recommend StayFit Health Clubs to …
Ok the equipment is old and outdated, So What? It's a huge gym with more equipment than any other gym in the area. The best part of this gym is that the staff are all volunteers so they actually care, and treat you like a friend. They have an excellent pool area with a sauna, steam room, spa. Not a fan of the heated pool( This is Florida IT'S HOT ENOUGH!) but at leadt its olympic size! Anyway I guess the old ladies like it warm. I have tried just about every gym in the area and for me this gym gives you the best bang for your buck. And the people are really nice compared to South Beach. I recently had a bad experience with the Southbeach Gym Manager/owner whatever? The guy is a wacko! Very rude. Our ClubHas an older crowd but they don't get in your way and they don't hog the machines like younger people. I'm 32 and I was probably the youngest person in the gym. Nevertheless I love the atmosphere, the staff is great, they will play any type of music you want. Sure the machines are all old and creeky but what do you expect from a non-profit gym. They do have a professional maintenance man on hand. A treadmill I was on had a belt malfunction and stopped working. I told the lady at the desk and the maintenance guy fixed it within 5 minutes no problem. Belt realigned and cleaned off, no problem! If you travel like I do and visit as many gyms as I do you will know this is extremely rare. Any other gym will instantly slap on an out of order sticker on a machine without even trying to diagnose the problem, and there goes your workout. My search is over. When I come to Brevard this is the only gym I will go to. Huge workout area, tons of machine options, most excellent staff, cheap day passes, ridiculously fun spin class, Olympic pool, hot showers....what more could you want?
I work out everyday. I travel almost every week for work and get to see how a lot of different gyms operate. This is by far the worst gym I have ever been to. First off their called "South Beach Fitness" as if they are one of the great high tech Miami gyms....Please, your not fooling anyone with that name. Second I had the great pleasure of speaking with the manager or owner who was a complete loon. A very rude and pushy person. I felt like he was trying to sell me a vacuum cleaner! The gym itself is tiny and ill equipped for the price. Half of the equipment was out of order and in need of some serious cleaning. When I visit the Melbourne area I now go to Our Club. They are also old and outdated but the crew is great. I think they are all volunteers which means they care! The place was much cleaner and they have a pool, spa, steam room, sauna and great classes. The members are a bit on the older side but I found everyone to be really sweet and non threatening.( no stink eyes) for 10 dollars a day it's a much better deal. Try the spin class(if you can get a pass in time) it is one of the most intense spin classes I have ever taken. The spin instructer (an old guy) was insane and extremely entertaining. Seriously a great class. YOU WILL SWEAT! Back to South Beach their spin class instructor was pretentious and annoying( they did have nicer bikes but who cares a bikes a bike)
Best gym beachside in South Brevard County!
I love this place! I always had a hard time working out @ gyms with all the healthy people everywhere. Now i'm there 3 times a week thanks to the classes @ South Beach Fitness. The new café is amazing and the staff and instructors were very very helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone. It is also one of the CLEANER Gyms I've ever been to.
Great fitness center. A true professional atmosphere with really superior Classes. They just got new Infra RED Saunas that are awesome. Low prices too.
If you believe in the golden rule, e.g. treat others as you would be treated, keep looking. I understand that apathetic, low paid, uneducated staff are not going to provide stellar service but minimally they should care about their jobs - this starts from the top leadership. I actually had a staff member throw something at me across the desk; despicable! As a corporate professional, if I acted like this with my clients or internal customers, I wouldn't last long in the position. I have no intention of renewing my membership but to be fair, the place is clean and the equipment is newer. If you join, best not to rely on the staff at all, the ludicrous cafe lacks any dietary specifications, e.g. calories or or other pertinent nutritional info for the food they serve and if you think you can act professionally and decent when making a request, expect the worst...that has been my experience. As an experienced fitness athlete, I admire the trainers who have been very professional and passionate about their craft; they obviously understand customer service. Too bad they are independent agents as they have no say in the management of the club.Bottom Line - if you expect reasonable service if not outstanding, for the money you spend, I would consider Pro-Health & Fitness in Viera. Exceptional and knowledgeable staff, top-notch equipment and many more benefits. If you have access, the Patrick AFB Fitness Center is outstanding as well.Good Luck - if joining South Beach, you'll need it!
Generic gym that thinks it's better than it is. It's not cheap, and there are very few amenities. The equipment is clean and only breaks *sometimes* which is about the best you can say about it. Better off going to a full-service gym with pool and amenities for the same price.
