I would not wish this place upon my worst enemy. One nurse kept going on about her severe diarrhea out loud at the nurses station. As a patient there my call light would be on for a minimum of 5 min. Residents constantly yelling "Help" out loud while nurses standing around discussing their weekends, how much they drank etc. witnessed one resident slip in their own urine on floor and fall and lay there for almost half an hour....just horrible. Not to mention I stayed there one week and almost received the WRONG Medicine 6 times!!! They need to drug test these "nurses!"

I had my dad in this place last june 2011 he did fine in express and loved the girls, the care was great. But then
he had to go to long term. I am not even going to telll you
everything about this plalce, but here are a few, not enough skilled nurses, not enough people to run this side of this home. My dad was bed bound and he yelled for help for 2 hours and there was non one around they had all gone to lunch. My sister came in and helped him. The night he died the nurse on duty did not even call us she waited until Hospice came so we really dont know when he
died, time wise. We left instructions to call us if he got worse. My sister lived across the street and could have been there in 3 minutes to be with him when he died and not be all alone. I will never forgive ever these people, they are the worst. Take your loved ones else where for long term care. I could go on for hours but I think this is enough for you to make your decision

i wouldnt give this place even a one star rating!! i have just recently been in the Express Recovery unit for inpatient rehab for a hip replacement and i was there for SIX days, and received maybe 2 hours of physical therapy in that time,so they pretty much set me back in my rehabilitation. I am 54 yrs. old so i wasnt an invalid, and also i was alert in mind, and asked questions! i didnt take their word for anything, and i have a daughter who has been in the nursing field, and she definitely looked out for me!! After one nite there,a nurse lost her job because of her treatment of me!! I was there for some physical therapy on the Rehab side, the other side is Nursing Home, and there was no differrence because i felt like i was in a nursing home, from the treatment i got there. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy, and i would leave by word of mouth!! One nurse even almost gave me wrong medication had i not noticed it. Several call lites would be on,and nurses standing around at the nurse's station. I regret not walking out of there after the first day because it was a waste of my time and money, and that place didnt deserve neither!! I feel for those who are in there and they need our prayers!! And anyone who goes in there,i pray they have family members who keep a very close eye on their loved one,and alwaysss question the staff there and dont take their word on anything!! I sure got a taste of what a nursing home is like!!

We recently had a family member in the Express Recovery unit of the Independence Rehabilitation Center and have found the facility to be clean, sweet smelling and tastefully furnished. The care our loved one received has been thorough and has proven very beneficial after her severe injury. The food was very satisfactory and staff professionalism has been excellent. As family members, we have been treated with respect and kept informed on all phases of care. I highly recommend this facility for short or long term care.
