Do not move here !!!! I moved here July 2016 and since I started having issues right away first off they have roaches !!!! I called and called and they said they would have someone come spray every other Friday ! The men came and sprayed one time and never came back ! Also September my ceiling started to leak because of an issue with my air conditioning! I came home one night and my ceiling was sagging about to bust I called emergency maintenance and the landlord Maryum ! Called and told me to bust the ceiling with a broom I told her no because all the water will leak into my carpet ! The ceiling had already been leaking into my carpet that night so she said she would bring a bucket. Around 10 o clock that night she came over busted the ceiling with my broom and swore maintenance would be there first thing that morning to replace ceiling tile and clean carpet ! No one showed the next day or even that week I then started to get sick along with my 2 year old kid because of the mold on the ceiling our nose started bleeding and waking up with itchy eyes I called everyday because I had a huge hole in my ceiling and also the rusted pipes needed to be cleaned ! I eventually had to call the health department and the apartments got fined for not fixing the hole at that point my ceiling did not get properly fixed until November! I withheld my rent until my ceiling was fixed so at that point I paid what I owed the apartments went and filed a eviction for me not paying my rent and charged me attorney fees ! I eventually moved out and now they have reported that I owe them 3000.00 do not move here the hallways smell and have roaches in the halls everywhere if I could give 0 stars I would !!!
Dont move here. Its horrible. Trashy people. Trashy apartments. Never have AC working on time. They turn it on months after you need it.
The management thinks they own you and can tell you how to live your life. They constantly leave threatening letters taped to the door about any number of grievances they may have. There are bugs and roaches in the apartments. The whole place is worn down( lacking repairs). The rent has just increased.
I moved in 10 months ago, and I cannot wait to leave. First the place has roaches. It has been almost a year and the problem has not been solved. Second, the maintenance department is extremely slow to fix anything. Third, the rent has increased but the place has not gotten any better. Finally, all of my neighbors have roaches and that is just terrible .
I just moved from summerset back to Kansas City. I really liked living there. I had a nice sized apartment and it was pretty cheap. I also liked not having to setup any utilities in my name. I am paying only $50 less per month for a one bedroom from my two bedroom at Summerset.
I just moved into my apartment several weeks ago. So far so good. I have not had any problems. I have gotten to know my neighbor above me. She is very nice. I really like how big my unit is. I wish it had washer/dryer hookups, but there is a laundry room in my building
I moved from midtown to Independence for a job and I was blown away by how much more apartment I could get. All I could afford in midtown was a studio apartment. Now I have a two bedroom apartment that is twice as big. I had no issues getting approved and outside of bad weather, the move went smooth. I have not had any issues so far, other then a toilet running. I called it in and got it fixed. I don't know much of the staff, but who I have met have been nice. I had new carpet when I moved in, which I liked. After this winter, I am considering getting a parking spot under the carport.
I moved here from Oklahoma and so far I really love my apartment and Kansas City all together. I have adjusted to the new city pretty easily, the highways make it easy to get around. I work downtown, and I can get to 70 really fast. Office staff helped me setup my apartment from out of town, which required a lot of emailing back and forth. I appreciated their help because it made that part of the move easy. I have a three bedroom apartment for the price of a two bedroom back home.
I have lived here for two years. When I moved in it was pretty cheap and the apartment was big. They did some renovations last year that were nice. My son likes the pool. I don't use the workout room much, but I saw where they put in new equipment. I like that they have security. My last apartment did not have that.
I agree with Darla. The work that they have done over the last year has been really nice. My apartment would get so cold in the winter before they replaced all the windows and my slider. My girlfriend did not like the laundry room when I moved in, now it is pretty nice. I don't mind doing my laundry in my building. I have one neighbor that is kinda loud, but everyone else seems to be pretty cool. I like having my own parking spot.
