We showed up without a reservation and the delightful ladies at the front desk gave us a suite for the price of a regular room. The room was clean and the furniture was very nice, in good condition. The a/c worked perfectly, nothing disturbed our night, and the wifi was easily accessible with a strong signal. We had a great stay and were impressed with the quality of the room. We'll definitely stop at Motel West again when we need to stay in Idaho Falls.

If only I could put negative stars. We were told the room was non-smoking and when we arrived the room smelt horrible of cigarette smoke. When we asked the front desk if we could switch rooms, they wouldn't let us because they assured us that it was a non-smoking room. (so im assuming a snunk was killed and hidden in our room if no one was really smoking there)Being pregnant the smell was unbearable, and when we decided to check out after 1 nights stay, the wouldn't let us! We knew Ross Hotel didn't allow guests for only 1 night. So we had to pay for the nights we didn't stay in, because they wouldn't allow us to check out early. The man who we spoke to had a rude southern accent, I don't know his name, but he either continually woke up on the wrong side of the bed each morning, or he was simply a rude man. I couldn't have been more upset about the way we were treated.
If you don’t care about customer service, then stay at Motel West. I’ve stayed there several times. The “free Wi-Fi” barely works, but I’ve been able to deal with it. This last weekend we made the mistake of complaining about it though. Staff was rude, snapped that they had no control of it and suggested we stay somewhere else if we didn’t like it. Spoke with management about the way we were spoken to the next morning, and basically received the same treatment. It must be there policy to suggest that people stay somewhere else if they don’t like the service.Motel West advertises that it has a heated pool. It has a heated hot tub, but not a heated pool. The place is noisy. I won’t besmirch the place with baseless accusations, but there is a lot of middle of the night activity going on there. I don’t know what goes on, but I have to wonder about drug deals. Just doesn’t seem like a safe place for me and my family.I checked into a room at Motel West, and there where bullet holes in the wall and mirror. Seriously, check out room 287 and you will see it is true. I mean, sh!t happens, but this is a place that doesn’t even bother to fix a bullet ridden room. Seedy motel? You betcha.Service at Motel West is really bad. Asked for a roll of toilet paper that was not in the room when it was purchased, and I was told that toilet paper was $5.00 a roll. I could not believe it. Unfortunately, being a traveler, I ended up paying $5.00 for a roll of cheap toilet paper.Motel West… RUNNNNNNNNN… this place is really bad. I see some people saying it’s a three star motel… really a three star that sells for $59.00… it’s obviously employees posting. I will say this, the room was clean, but the service was really bad.
Very friendly staff. Quiet and clean. We would stay here again.
I usually stay at a mid-market hotel and this is one with an economy price! I am a business traveler who stays for about three days at a time. I received a free cocktail in their lounge as well as a free hot breakfast in the restaurant. The Business Rooms have a recliner chair which is fabulous since I have a bad back. The refrigerator is also essential to keep vegetables and water bottles cold, I can't eat out everyday, it's too much grease. I also really like the location which is on a river and walking path. Each morning I jog around the path and geese are always happy to greet me. It's a very relaxing environment. Staff is outstanding.
