In operation since the 1980's Eye Health Partners has been a provider of eye care services. Based in Huntsville, Ala., its refractive surgeries include laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK), all-laser LASIK, photorefractive keratotomy (PRK), intraocular lens (IOL), visian implantable collamer and intacs corneal implants, to name a few. The eye care center provides treatment of Glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, Strabismus, oculoplastics and amblyopia. Eye Health Partners offer treatment of a plethora of retinal diseases, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment.

Laser Eye Surgery
When it comes to vision correction, one size does not fit all. While many people are excellent candidates for LASIK surgery, this procedure is not for everyone. Since every patient’s situation is unique, only a thorough evaluation can determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure. Cataracts
Cataracts are a clouding of the lens in the eye. The lens is that portion of the eye that is responsible for about one-third of the eye’s focusing power. Cataracts begin slowly and often are not noticed at first. The clouding of the lens causes images to appear dull or grayish and for colors to appear washed out. This dull vision occurs because the clouding of the lens causes incoming light to be scattered on the retina. Cataracts are generally associated with aging, but can also be caused by other factors.
Cataract Surgery
When a cataract progresses to the point of impairing your vision, you may need cataract surgery. During cataract surgery the natural lens of the eye is removed and an artificial lens — called an “intraocular lens” or IOL — is inserted into the eye.
