Food was sub par, with very little chicken in the "hibachi chicken", and what was there was tough and chewy, and had no flavor or sauce of any kind. Only good thing was the fried rice - and for $13 you expect much better. Nothing was express about the service. They are going to have to improve a lot if they want repeat customers.
I lived in Japan for 2 yrs. and the sushi here was as good as any there. The Alabama roll was excellent.
Best lunch special and service I ve had in a long time! I will definitely be back! The sushi was fresh and well prepared at a good price for the size of the meal (I had the spicy roll lunch special). The sweet tea was great- and they even brought me extra lemon without asking. The miso soup was fresh and wonderful- not the stale stuff you find in the store. The salad with ginger dressing was fresh and tasty. Even the soy, in little miniature teapots was fresh (being in a small pot, they have to refill it more often so it doesn t get old like the standard old bottles you see everywhere else). Outside it looks like a dive. Great- I love little hole in the wall places. Inside I was blown away by how clean and beautiful it was. They even have little side rooms for privacy if you want. Service was very attentive and friendly without hovering. I go through sweet tea, but they kept on top of refills. I have a new favorite place. Just wish they were open Sundays too so we could swing by after church.
This restaurant suffers from an unfortunate name. You expect fluorescent lights in a fast food motif, but it's really a wonderful place to eat with subdued lighting, good food, and great service. Edo's in Madison is the benchmark for fresh, wonderful Sushi and Japanese food, but I never feel disappointed if we choose I <heart> Sushi as a substitute when it is much closer for lunch. I have never had a bad experience here..
