Don't walk away from TV Fence, Run! Initially took over 2 months to show up. They did average work and did not finish. They refused to come back and finish as well as correct shoddy workmanship. I even talked to the owner. They were ONLY interested in getting paid. Very little attention given to quality of work. We do not recommend. We paid way too much $$$ for this poor of work. Go elsewhere as this company, from the owner on down, will not stand by their work. We are very disappointed in this company.
We love our new cedar picket fence and DuraGate done by TVF. The quality of install is great and we will enjoy the fence for a very long time. Thank you, TVF!
Made appointment for estimate. No show, no call, don't bother with this one unless you don't mind taking time off for no shows. At least no money was exchanged.
I'm very disappointed in my overall experience and the quality of the install. . There was poor communication from the beginning. They couldn't read the salesman's handwriting on the contract, so they couldn't call me (my email address was legible, so why didn't they email me?) I had planned on being present when the fence was installed, instead I came home one day and all the posts had already been set. Additionally, the crew (which I never even saw) used my hose and left in turned on and laying in the yard in the middle of winter. They left a giant pile of dirt, just piled in a corner of my yard?!?! I received a follow up call a few days later asking how everything was and when I mentioned the pile of dirt, I was assured it would be taken care of the next day. It was not. And finally, to top it all off, the fence does not match the specifications on the contract size-wise, and the corner post for the gate is so out of level/plumb the "Never-sag" gate won't even shut anymore!
Had to have TVF back twice as several posts were not all set with enough concrete. Their cleanup up site was AWFUL POOR. Seemed like they contracted out to some guys who did not care how badly they broke up the irrigation system, nor did they do much cleanup...rocks, and dirt was left on the sidewalk.....Get someone else for your fence!
We got a quote from TVF in February and in July, pending new neighbors moving in next door, we called TVF to see if they would still honor the quote and when they could get started on the fence. They told us several dates that they wanted to start, but never did, and finally we settled on either July 31 or August 3 (depending on their work load) as the start date. They assured us they would be done by Wednesday August 5 as we were going out of town. After multiple phone calls on Monday A morning inquiring where the workers were, someone finally did show up about 330PM and said that the rest of his crew was still busy but he was at least going to rope off the fence line. On Tuesday, we asked the gentleman where the gate in the back was going to be placed and he said his plans didn't have a back gate on them. We then pulled out a copy of the signed contract with the back gate on it and he said since the fence posts were already placed, would we settle for a smaller back gate? We agreed. Needless to say, they were not done with the fence on Wednesday and when we came back into town on Friday the fence was still not completed and our yard was a mess with scrap lumber, miscellaneous tools and mountain dew bottles filled with cigarettes. We had to clean it up the yard as the HOA would have fined us. My wife called the subcontractor on Saturday and asked him what in the world was going on and when would our fence be done. The sub-contractor said it would be completed by COB Monday 08/10. It was completed late Tuesday 08/11 night and the subcontractor had to come back the next day because one of the latches he put on the gates didn't match the rest. Late August, early September a call was placed to TVF to tell them that the sub-contractor used nails in the cap part of the fence sparingly and wanted to let them know that for a $5400 fence, we were a bit disappointed. TVF did offer to come out and walk it, but we declined as we just wanted to be done with the whole thing. Saturday September 12, while mowing the yard, I noticed that there was a 2 foot section of fence boards that were not even nailed in and just flapping in the breeze. Upon further inspection, there were more boards not nailed in, nails that just missed the 2X4 all around and other miscellaneous things that were just not up to par. Owen did come out and walk the fence and also was surprised about the lack of workmanship. We made it clear we did not want the original sub-contractor out here again. When trying to get in touch with TVF about when the repairs we going to be made, we were informed that TVF had paid this sub-contractor and it would be easier on them if we allowed him to come fix his mistakes. Again, we agreed as they were sending the TVF supervisor out to "assist" the sub-contractor. The fixes were implemented, albeit some were very sloppy and what is most disappointing is after all of this, we have not heard a word from anyone at TVF for a follow up. Final opinion: the quality of the fence all depends on who they sub contract it out to. We have one in our neighborhood that was done by a different TVF sub-contractor and it is OUTSTANDING.
We spent a lot of money on our fence with TVF. I wish I would have used anyone else. They installed the gate wrong, I complained, they did nothing about it, now it's broke and they want $800 to fix the gate (just the gate). They admitted that it was installed incorrectly but refuse to fix it. Terrible quality, terrible customer service, so disappointed. Don't waste your money. There are many others who are capable of installing quality fences for half the price.
Tennessee Valley Fence (TVF) has poor workmanship, poor quality, poor customer support, lack of concern to what the customer is requesting, failure to make good on what they are getting paid for. Statements of ‘Making it Right’ are just empty gestures with no intention of making it right. Home Depot should relook at their business decision to use this contractor that is performing work in their name. When we were advised that TVF was contracted to perform the work, we researched online to find out the quality of work they would perform. We were not comfortable with the negative reviews we read from multiple venues but since information online is not always accurate, we decided to let them do the work. In the end, the second and only other thing TVF did successfully was to demonstrate that all of the negative online reviews were correct.
SO SAD. On Wed or Thurs I met with TVF for my quote. I signed the front side of a paper to have them come out and do a service (YES THEY HAVE A BACK SIDE AND YOU MUST READ)I called TVF on Saturday (two days later) at 1301 and cancelled via telephonic conversation with an employee. I had someone else do the job for $350.00 cheaper. I thought that was it, taken care of....NOPEApproximately ten days later a crew from TVF was out at my house to put up a fence, I stopped them just in time before they took down my fence I just had put up, I thought that was also the end of it....NOPEI received a bill in the mail from TVF stating that i owed them 25% of the cost of the original fence do to not canceling. I spoke on the phone with one of the owners who stated that I never called and cancelled and was unwilling to hear anything I had to say.The owner took me to small claims court witch took almost a year due to me being in Afghanistan. I spoke with a mediator and the Owner (Mr. Owens) to settle this, and he was persistent that since they had to load the truck and drive to my location and go back to unload the truck then I was going to be charged, he also stated I never called.I showed the owner the phone records from W.O.W. with the date and time and the duration of the call on the date I told him, Mr. Owens then changed his statement and said that it was a contract issue. I thought that was funny since I had the proof that I called but his company dropped the ball and he wants to push it onto me. After small claims court, (which I won, but now he is taking me to civil court) I told Mr. Owens that its sad to see a owner not care that one of his employees took my message and didn't pass it along but he his going after me. Mr. Owens then told me that that his company made 6.5 million last year and it wasn't about the money, but since we posted our comments on the BBB and his Facebook it made him upset. I would not use this company unless your 100% sure your going to do the job, and also do research on this company because this isn't the first time.
