March 20, 2014Cumberland Materials is not a company I will ever refer anyone to. Call Alabama Drywall or Murco for your materials, these people are awesome. I spent over $2,500.00 with Cumberland for Acoustical ceiling tile and grid. They knew I was a home owner and they sold me single pieces of grid with no problem. When I went to return the unused, still wrapped in paper and in the box leftover grid, they refused, telling me they don’t accept open cartons….??? I said you sold me single pieces?? The Manager Sean said that once the cartons are opened they are susceptible to moisture and can rust so they become compromised and he cannot sell to someone out of the box. Now I am not an expert but…..if you can’t get any moisture on this grid, how do I ever open any door in my house? OH and how did HE sell ME single pieces that were obviously opened???? He refused to bend even after Steve from Cumberland in Tennessee told him THEY take back open boxes and he should too. I told Sean and Steve both that I was still needing over $700.00 more in ceiling tile!! Sean said “No, he would not take them back that it would not be beneficial to him” He was O.K. with me taking my business elsewhere, this treatment over about $100.00 in returned materials! I called Alabama Drywall and they had ceiling tile just not the one I needed, so THEY called MURCO in Madison….they DID have my tile and needless to say I bought from them instead of dealing with the lying and absurd people at Cumberland. So much for customer care or satisfaction…Cumberland doesn’t care, and we will never do business with them again……..GO TO ALABAMA DRYWALL OR MURCO!!!
