General Info
Developmental Disabilities Institute, located in Huntington, N.Y., offers a range of services to people with development disabilities. The institute offers a Starting Early program, children s day care services, and adult case management services and service coordination. Starting Early is a special program for infants and young children who demonstrate delay or disability in cognition, motor, social, language or emotional development. It also offers a specialized program for young children with autism, children who are culturally and linguistically diverse and those with Down syndrome. The children's day services include a state-approved full-day special education program for students and young adults between five and 21 years of age. The adult day care services division offers a variety of programs to developmentally disabled individuals and is divided into three departments that include day treatment, family support services and career development.
