Kim Ray Shrum, MD

Dr. Shrum is a very good doctor. He has a friendly personality, cares for and connects with his patients. I went to him before it became Berkley Eye Center. Whereever he practices his profession is where I would go.

I had cataract surgery on my left eye. I have been going to Berkeley for the past 10 years. I’ve always been pleased with their professionalism but they are still able to make your time with them seem more personal. They always put you at ease with their genuine care & concern. The surgery experience was above my expectations & I would highly recommend Berkeley to any one. I have been to a couple of their locations & at all of them it’s the same professional but personal care & concern that make me feel comfortable recommending Berkeley to friends & family.

The eye exam was timely, professional and very informative as is generally the case. A young lady named Gisela Cintron waited on me for selection of glasses and she was a very pleasant surprise. She gave honest opinions on many frames and her selections were very attractive. Generally, you pick out your own frames without any other input but Gisela was patient and very considerate in making her selections. I would easily recommend Gisela to anyone wanting to have someone knowledgeable help in selecting frames that fit their facial features and personality. She is a very attractive and helpful asset to the Atascosita operation. Daniel Cox

I went for my annual check up and the staff was pleasant, through and very quick. Barely sat down when they called me in. They started right away and Doctor Shrum came in politely and quickly. All went well and and I was pleased with my experience.

I have been going to Dr. Shrum and his partners for many years. His office staff is very professional and I always receive excellent service. No problem rescheduling or fitting me in. Will continue to use Berkeley Eye Center in Atascocita for all my vision needs. Ciara is great too!

Excellent. The staff is very polite, efficient, not kept waiting, I was kept informed of anything happening during treatment, etc. I have had two eye surgeries with Doctor Shrum with excellent results. Plus the offices are well appointed and I appreciate that.

My personal experience was not great but it was through no fault of Berkeley Eye Center Atascocita. There was a problem with the lab making and fitting the lenses. It took a month to get my glasses. Throughout the entire frustrating process, with delay after delay from the lab, my optician Kristine and her manager Kim Humlick were phenomenal. They were both extremely professional and expressed sympathy for my situation. Unlike many businesses my wife and I have dealt with, when these ladies said they would call me, they did. When they said they would be working on the problem, they were. When they said they were going to do something to make up for the delays, that’s exactly what happened. These ladies made many calls to the labs, reached out to supervisors, changed labs to get better service, kept me informed, insisted that the lab get my glasses right and make an extra pair of lenses for my inconvenience, and provided me with a really nice frame to put them in. Throughout this process, these ladies, on the phone and in person, remained courteous and eager to help. I don’t think this review is nearly enough, I believe that these two ladies should be commended by their supervisors for being OUTSTANDING employees. There are many employers who would love to have Kristine and Kim working for them. Thank you!

My husband and I both had appointments and we were in and out of there in 45 minutes including us both ordering sunglasses. That's what we love about seeing Dr. Shrum.
