I took my daughters ages 9 and 15 for pedicures. We walked in to find a movie playing on the tv that was extremely violent with pervasive profanity.
I asked the woman working if she would please change the channel. She ignored my request and went into the back of the salon.
After a few minutes, I asked a gentleman who was standing right in front of the television if he would please change the channel. He too ignored my request.
The woman came back into the salon area and told my daughters and I to sit down and give her our colors. After I sat down, I asked her again if she would please change the channel. She was very rude and hostile and, in a loud tone of voice, said "do you want your nails done, or you want me to spend my time changing the channel"
Needless to say, we left without getting our nails done.
We then found a great salon on old US 23 in Brighton called M Nails. M Nails has a beautiful facility that was very professionally run with a courteous staff.
I have been patronizing this nail spa for a couple of years, I have never had a bad experience.
On 7/25/14, I was a walk-in customer and was taken care of, right away, by Kimberly. A pedicure was done first and it was very nice and relaxing. Then I had a manicure and shellac polish done; this was also relaxing with polite conversation.
The facility is clean and orderly – a very nice place~
I'm getting ready to leave for vacation so I thought I would get a manicure and a polish change on my toes. I decided to go to Nail Tech by Jonna's because its close to home. I had a bad experience with a pedicure 2 years ago there but thought I would give them another shot since I'm short on time. I took my 2 year old daughter and 15 mo old son. Decided to get my daughters fingers and toes painted while we were there and the little guy is in a stroller content. I walk in, sign in and tell the guy I want a manicure and polish change on my toes. He asks if I want shellac and I ask the price difference. $35/$15 so I say no I'll just get a regular manicure. He looks at my nails and says "oh your cuticles are not bad it'll only be $25 and it'll last 2 weeks." So I decide to give it a try and pick out my colors. They call us back and he starts buffing my nails and then filling/shaping them. Then starts opening the bottles to paint my nails. So I stopped him and said "You're not going to dip my hands in water and push back the cuticles or trim them or anything?" and he tells me "No. That would be $35 not $25." $10 to trim cuticles? So I tell the guy I just want a regular manicure, soak my fingers, cut my cuticles and use regular polish. I don't know how he can say they're not bad when I haven't had a manicure in at least 6 mos! While this is going on a lady came over and has started painting my daughters toes and fingers. Like I said she's 2 and we've never done this before. So shes starting to move and doesn't realize they are wet so I'm trying to remind her to sit still. The lady isn't saying anything to her. She finishes and walks away. No fan. No trying to tell her to sit still. Within 30 secs my daughter has touched her face and has purple nail polish on her cheek. So I'm trying to get the lady's attention to fix it while the guy has started a regular manicure on me. I could tell he wasn't happy as he was rushing through it and cut my cuticle. So then I look over at the slip the lady put in front of the guy and it says $13. $13 to paint my daughters fingers and toes? Wow. So I say "Wow I thought it would only be $5 or so to paint them." He says "How do you expect us to do business? You unhappy you can leave." What? Because I questioned the price? So I say "No just finish my manicure. Her nail just needs to be fixed." So he says "She needs to sit still. She can't do this if she don't sit still" so I say "I know I didn't realize you were going to do us both at the same time. I thought you would do hers after mine were finished so I could remind her to sit still." So he stops doing my nails again and tells me "If you're unhappy you can leave. You don't want to pay, you leave" I never said that! So now I'm mad and say "You know what I think I will just leave" and I get up and get my kids to walk out. He follows me through the store yelling at me the entire time about $5 and not wanting to pay and don't come back. REALLY? So I say "You know what I will just go someplace else where I don't get treated like this. Keep yelling at me it makes you look real good in front of your customers." He was still going when I walked out the door and put my daughters shoes on outside on the sidewalk. I will NEVER be going back there again. That was the rudest experience I have ever had anywhere. I left with my nails undone and nail polish on my daughters cheek. Never again.
