From Business: The Memorial Hermann Surgery Center located at Bay Area has many different surgery services in the Bay Area.
The parking and limited waiting area are the only drawbacks..... I highly recommend this facility. The staff was kind, the medical professionals were top notch.
I would like to start by saying that I have NEVER posted a review. Driving to the surgery center my son was convinced we were going on the wrong day because no one called from the surgery center to go over his list of meds and remind him not to eat after midnight and to verify his known allergies . The only reason I knew the date was because I called the doctors office to ask a question and the staff reminded us. Once there my son was asked to sign a BLANK consent form, it didn't list his name or procedure to be preformed. I told her we weren't signing a blank consent. She seemed irritated and filled in the procedure but did not include his name. Once again, irritated she included his info. While waiting, I watched several patients WALK out to the lobby and to their cars, watching as they wobbled out, from the side effects of anesthesia.Legally patients are to be pushed out in a wheelchair. I brought this to their attn and the next walked out as well. I would have left but love our dr
Was told in preparation for emergency foot surgery (broken seperated fracture) that we could pay half and installments on remainder. Upon arriving, was told ALL of the deductible had to be paid upfront, or no surgery. ADVISE TO GET ALL AGREEMENTS IN WRITING.
I understand that there are places that don't allow parent be part of the anesthesia (gas) when I minor (in my case a 4 years old) is taking. But I was told by the doctor that I was going to be with him during the anesthesia and that is one of the main reasons that I accepted doing with this same doc and that location. When we got there they said he would go with the anesthesiologist to the room in order to get it. I was and I'm still upset cause that was very important to me and by doing that they ruined all the process that should have (mainly because is a child) being smooth, nice, calm and nice. Ended up being horrible for me and caused my son insecurity. If I knew I would never ever have done with them and go for the facilities that I know they do that. Very disappointed and even they say everything was ok and he is ok , I just don't believe it.
Yes the staff are very polite because they want your money, for those people who CAN NOT TOLERATE THE PAIN I SUGGEST NOT TO ATTEND this clinic, Yes I went , they do give you some pills for pain but not enough to hold the pain, on the other side they apply local anesthesia on your back if you are trying to get ride of the rolls on your back, YOU are conscious so are aware of everything and you can feel the pain. So I'm not so happy with them, paid a lot of money for it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I totally agree.Laura was rude, unprofessional towards my Doctor, me,my wife.Talk about arrogant loudmouth attitude !.Nurse Brenda I believe you"re name was, pre-op nurse. When asking for pain level.Don't scrutinize patient"s answer.Like you can judge by looking !!. By the way, my hand was in pain, bruised, and swollen for over a week.oh yeah that's right that was my fault too? No compassion here.Their are more worthier places to go to than here.
The staff and service are second to none! Went in with a sore throat and was in and out and back at home getting well in no time. Thank you!!
I also have a billing issue with their Urgent Care facility on Barker Cypress. I was billed over $600 for a 10 minute routine examination and was told that the rate was only high because that is what my insurance company agreed to. They acknowledged that the walk-in rate (no insurance) could have been (much) lower. I have attempted to protest the bill several times and they have zero interest in resolving. Hopefully I can help someone else.
Had surgery here. Felt like an assembly line with no personal care at all. Should have known when I couldn't get a call from back from this center until 16 hours before my surgery that this wouldn't be the place I would recommend to friends and family. The facility is clean and has all the modern appliances. But.... This is where my good feelings stop. I had only one nurse (pre op) and the anesthesiologist besides my doctor that I would refer my friends and family to. The admin staff here are just plain rude. The recovery room nurses are rude and only care about getting their paper work done. I felt like a complete inconvenience to my recovery room nurse. I had a severe headache coming out of my general. My nurse was traded three times.. For lunch breaks. I was still very nervous and when I get nervous I talk a lot... She basically told me to shut up so she could concentrate on her paperwork.... I found her rude and uncaring. When she stepped away to do something I got myself dressed because after that statement I wanted the hell out of there.. So even after having foot and leg surgery I was pulling my clothes on and putting my other shoe on. I literally couldn't get out of this place fast enough. I just had surgery Friday.. And I will be letting my doctor know my feelings. I still have to have more surgery and I will not be returning to this location. I wouldn't want my friends or family to feel the way I felt here.... Surgery is scary regardless of your age or passed experience with surgery... I feel like these folks did a horrible job with easing my anxiety and I don't want to ever feel like I'm just a name on a schedule that they have to get through. Sorry to say.. This place is not a good choice.
