For years I have maintained a very active and healthy lifestyle, but for some reason I could never lose the “extra weight” around the middle. I made the decision to have liposuction, and after reading many online reviews, I decided to have a consultation with Dr. Steely. I will never forget that day because it was the first day to the start of the rest of my life. From the moment I walked through the office doors, the staff was so friendly and listened to every concern and question I had. When I met with Dr. Steely, I was blown away by his professionalism, compassion, and understanding of what I was looking for with the procedure. He thoroughly explained what liposuction would entail and answered every question I presented. I left the office that day, with peace of mind knowing that I would be in caring and very skilled hands during the surgery. The surgery experience could not have been better. The staff and doctors at 1st Street Hospital are top notch. They made sure I was comfortable as soon as I walked through door until I left the recovery room. It also helped to hear the wonderful things they had to say when I told them Dr. Steely was my surgeon. “He is the Best!”, “He is always putting his patients first.” were just a few of the comments that were made, and I knew I had made the right decision. The follow-up care with Dr. Steely and his staff is second to none! Cindy, Heather, and Angela were helpful, caring, and very professional. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable with every aspect from financial, scheduling, and follow-up care. They were so friendly and were always so excited to see me on any return visits to the office. The results from the liposuction surgery are amazing, and I could not be happier with the way I look. Dr. Steely really understands the importance of body proportion, and it shows with my results! I have a beautiful hour glass shape and a flatter and smaller waistline. At 3 months out I was thrilled with the results and I really couldn’t believe my eyes at 6 months out! I am now 9 months post-surgery and jump for joy every time I look in the mirror. I can’t believe the gorgeous figure I get to look at every single day! Dr. Steely’s experience and skills really shine every time I look in the mirror. I have a new outlook about my body following the procedure. I no longer want to hide or cover up my figure. Before the liposuction, I would often decline to pareti9ciapte in social activities for fear of what people were thinking about the way my “middle section” looked. This procedure has given me new outlook and a new confidence about life and nothing is holding me back. My friends compliment me on my new look and how it seems to have really brought out the best in me. I can’t thank Dr. Steely enough for this wonderful gift of renewed self esteem and self confidence and the amazing figure I proudly show off every day! The day I met with Dr. Steely and his staff truly was the first day of the rest of my life, and I would not change a single thing.
This was definitely the best experience I've ever had at a dentist, period! I, like most people, absolutely hate going to the dentist. I have had too many horrible experiences with dentists in the past. As soon as I walked into the door of her office, I knew I had found the perfect dentist. WOW! The office is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS and feels like a 5-star hotel or spa! I have never seen a dental or medical office quite like it! I didn't realize I was in a dental office until I actually sat in the dental chair. Once meeting Dr. Wilmore, she totally changed my negative outlook on dentists and truly put me at ease! She has such a friendly, honest, and caring demeanor and is extremely thorough and informative of any procedure she is performing. She thoroughly discusses all your options, along with her opinions of what's best for your situation, and ensures that you understand what is the best treatment option for you before proceeding any further. Dr. Wilmore also constantly makes sure you are comfortable and pain free during your entire experience. She is extremely knowledgable and professional and treats you with such respect and kindness and she truly LISTENS to you and takes your thoughts and needs into consideration. Her attention to detail and perfectionism is unmatched. Before my treatment began, Dr. Wilmore showed me my digital X-rays on the high-tech flat screen monitor mounted above the chair so I knew exactly what the problem I was experiencing was. During my PAINLESS extraction and root canal I watched a video of the Virgin Islands that made me so relaxed I truly felt I was on a tropical vacation! Not to mention the beautiful view from the 9th floor windows overlooking the Memorial area. I seriously didn't want to leave the dental chair! I forgot I was at the dentist. The entire staff treated me with such kindness, respect, and hospitality that I truly felt like part of the family. You will not find a better dentist anywhere! GUARANTEED!!! Dr Wilmore is definitely one-of-a-kind!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!
Dr. Rashmi Nandish is not just a Kind, Competent and Excellent Dentist, she genuinely cares for her patients' well being (particularly the Children) and one can trust her intentions and decisions are not motivated by office administration concerns. Myself and my daughter who is now 7 years old have been Dr. Rashmi Nandish's patients' since my Daughter grew her first set of teeth. Dr. Rashmi Nandish's motto of "prevention is better than cure" has paid off. My child and I practice good dental hygiene following Dr. Rashmi Nandish's guidance and my daughter is cavity free. Dr. Rashmi Nandish's office is welcoming and staffed with kind, polite, caring and competent staff. My daughter looks forward to 'going to the Dentist' because of the positive experience she enjoys there. At one time, she had one of her temporary teeth extracted because it wouldn't come out on it's own and she didn't feel any pain from the injection or removal of the tooth. Dr. Rashmi Nandish's Dental Office is quite a few miles from my residence but we wouldn't go anywhere else simply because the experience is like visiting Family. The office is well equipped with the latest Dental Technology and the minimal wait time goes unnoticed; with toys to occupy the children and a variety of programs to watch on TV for the adults, whether it's in the Waiting room or in the Dentist's chair. There are also magazines to thumb through. My daughter recently had a dancing accident during the weekend which resulted in her gums being split open revealing the teeth within. I immediate called Dr. Rashmi Nandish's Dental Office, got an appointment and my Daughter was seen within the hour. Fortunately (after X-Rays) the diagnosis concluded that the wound will heal. The teeth will be reviewed again during the next checkup. I recommend without hesitation Dr. Rashmi Nandish's Dental Office, to anyone looking for an Excellent Dentist for their Children or themselves.
I read a mixture of reviews about this dentist, mostly bad which in turn made me nervous for my appointment. I showed up and was greeted by Gigi at the front desk, she was so friendly and made me feel more comfortable and less nervous. I filled out my paperwork, and I was called in right away. Just to inform everyone, I HATE going to the dentist but I needed a cleaning and one of my teeth was keeping me in pain. I was given a tour of the office and the hygienist took her time and explained everything to me as we went along. She was thorough and super nice which also made me feel less nervous. The doctor came in afterwards and checked on my teeth. She then explained the issue about the tooth I was concerned about and gave me possible routes we could take. She made sure to answer every question I had and not once did I feel rushed in this office. For the first time I had a great experience at the dentist office and I look forward to going back. Also, all of the old reviews I read about were not true. I read you be able to see the person getting worked on in the next room...not true. I was in my own space so they must have fixed that or someone was overexxagerating. They also spoke of the massage seating in the waiting room and how the high prices were covering all of that. Well, there were no massage chairs but the seating was comfortable and the decor was modern and classy. I was given a prescription for antibiotics and I only paid $6.00. I'm sure the outrageous prices are because of the different types of insurance people have. Personally, I have gone to one other dentist down here (I've lived here for a little over a year and half) and it was a mediocre place that had me feeling like I needed another round of cleaning because they rushed me out the door and barely looked at my teeth. If I have to pay a little extra for a nice place with great people and great service then I have no problem with that.
Dr. McHugh is a wonderful doctor and I am so happy with my results. I went around to several other doctors, and to be mature, I won't comment on the experiences there, but out of all, Dr. McHugh, his wife and staff were the most friendly and kind. I was greeted by the most friendly and helpful receptionist, when I was booking my appointment on the phone, I was so amazed at the knowledge she had regarding the procedures I wanted to schedule. At the consultation, which was for liposuction and reduction, Dr. McHugh did not rush through the consultation. He took his time to explain in full detail the procedures that I was interested in, and I had a list of questions, in which he answered them all. I was a little nervous, because of previous consultations elsewhere that did not put me at ease, but Dr. McHugh really put me at ease. He did mention that it would be a good idea, but I did not have to get Lympatic Drainage massages as needed. At the conclusion of the consultation, I got to meet his beautiful wife, Katherine. I have heard negative things about her, but those negative things are so untrue. She is the most down to earth walking Barbie Doll! Great sense of humor! She presented me with the pricing information of the surgery and lymphatic massages. I decided at the consultation that Dr. McHugh was my surgeon for my surgeries, but was short on finances, so Katherine's sister, very friendly and personable, assisted me in getting financed with Care Credit. It was 5 minutes to closing, but she did not rush me out and also worked on getting me codes to make a claim on my insurance for my reduction. After my surgery, his nurse, Ashley, called me every day to check on my progress and was a great support when Dr. McHugh was unable to speak on the phone to address my healing concerns. I do not regret using Dr. McHugh, and I will be using him again in the near future for a necklift!
I have been going to this location for 12 years, back when Dr. Fussell owned it and was horrified when it was sold. I took a chance after my first call with Office Manager, Betty, who was most welcoming and informative. My two small pups were assessed by Zack (no longer there) and Anthony, who was terrific with his nurturing personality. I was in shock when I took my 17 year old Bichon in to be euthanized, and the vet on duty recommended one more round of different meds (That did not feel right to me, but I complied.) Several weeks later it was crucial to be done, and Betty recognized me, took me out of line, and immediately sent me to a treatment room. Both Zack and Anthony handled the preparation-- I am diabetic which they realized and brought me a chair, water and a cold compress. They were sympathetic with their questions and empathy exuded as if Josey was their dog. I cannot imagine there being any more services or procedures offered to me or Josey. At least a year went by until I visited again. Betty new me by name-- I still had my now 13 year old Poodle and a now 7 year old rescued, abused, stray Schnorkie, who still shutters around new people. Somehow Anthony and he became friends. BUT then I met Dr Diana Blessman-- aka Blessing!! Just about the most empathetic Veterinarian I have EVER engaged-- and I have had dogs for AT LEAST 20 YEARS! She is concerned about owner's understanding of diagnosis, treatment and aftercare. Her patience is never-ending-- none of my perhaps mundane questions irritated her. She has become my "forever vet" along with my referrals to the practice. I've had a few more visits and appreciate their relationship building. This is now run effectively and politely, and there is a new tech, Trayell, that also seems quite competent and loves animals. BRAVO-- I am there for good!!
daughters teeth were very crowded and crooked through no fault of her own. We needed to find an orthodontist that could change her smile as quickly as possible, that could support her at college in New York with affiliates in emergencies. We said a prayer and found Dr. Watson. Dr. Watson did an examination of my daughter and found that we needed to expand her jaw, then braces and the work would be extensive. We wanted to get this done as fast as possible working around her out-of-state college schedule. His hours make that very possible, which most doctors dont offer. Dr. Watson does not sugar coat things. He is very precise and gives his clients a true level of expectation of time and work needed to achieve the results. More importantly he cares for his patients. His staff if very professional and caring..Love those ladies!. He has a very state of the art office that we go to here in Spring. If we have any questions he or one of his staff always returns our calls. He also has a program that you can finance, paying monthly with no interest that was available to us which was great! They took our dental insurance as well and filed the paperwork for us. He is realistic as well in what a patient must do, and instructs he patients in proper maintenance as to keep your teeth white and healthy while the procedure in in progress. MOST IMPORTANTLY... you should see my daughters SMILE! This beautiful young lady, presidential merit Scholarship winner, attending one of the most presigious colleges in her field, interning at the New York Design Center in Manhattan, can now smile with confidence! Thank you Dr. Watson for your great work and uncovering that gorgeous radiant smile for my daughter...One which will last a lifetime! We Love you!
I took my dog to TLC after the clinic I was going to didn't have the staff that day to see him until late in the afternoon. I called TLC and they told me to bring him in immediately. He ended up being a very sick little guy. He had pancreatitis and then developed diabetes requiring daily shots. They worked with me repeatedly giving him the shots and then when he became insulin resistant, euthanasia was the only alternative. They supported me during this time as well as sending me flowers, a card signed by all the staff, and a donation to the College of Veterinary medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M in honor of Riley. This allows for future research to give our animals better care. Three weeks after my loss, a member of the staff contacted me about a couple needing to find a good home for their two year old Yorkie. To make a long story short, I have had this beautiful little guy for over a year, and he has been a God send. I have been blessed with him, new friends who provided me with him, and TLC. I also want to mention their boarding facilities....clean, friendly staff who truly care for your animal, and onsite of the veterinary clinic in the event of any emergency while you are away. If you want a facility who cares about the quality of life of your animal, this is where you will go. They have good hours, caring staff, patient staff, and two of the best veterinarians you could ever ask for. Thank you TLC for being there for me and my precious dogs. Riley lived a short life, but he never doubted the efforts you bestowed upon him. Augie is a lucky guy to have the best services in the area! -Mara Y.
I had a great experience at Urban Dental Spa today. I needed some teeth whitening done and they offered the Zoom whitening which I had seen before on one of those ultimate makeover shows so I thought I would give it a try. I gave them a call and Stacy was very friendly and helpful. She took the time to tell me about their practice and lead me to the forms that I could fill out ahead of time instead of being rushed when I got here. She gave me another call the day before my appointnment not only to confirm my appointment but to make sure that I knew where to find them. When I arrived on the day of my appointment, I walked in and immediately was relaxed. Sounds of a little waterfall going on in the background and the surrounding were very pleasant. I was met immediately by Stacy who got me into the system after which I was immediately taken back with no wait whatsoever. I hate having to wait when I have an appointment at other places! Anyway, we get to the back, get me in a chair and in comes Liset. Now, I'm comfy, watching a great movie and I got two hotties taking care of me. Lot better than being at work.... They explained what they were going to do and aksed if I had any questions. The thing that goes in your mouth to expose just your teeth was a trip since I looked like Hannible with it in there but hey, made for a great txt message to my wife. haha. The procedure went VERY well and my teeth look worlds better than when I walked in. I didn't have any pain during the process which I really appreciated.... If you have need to for a dentist or some whitening like I did, I would HIGHLY recomend these folks.
My husband and I have two chow-chows and two cats, and the staff here at TLC Animal Hospital is great with them! We've been coming for a couple years now and have always had positive experiences. We rescued a kitten last year that sadly had some neurological problems and had to be put to sleep. The entire staff was amazing during the entire process: during the diagnosis, care management, and during the kitten's last days. They even sent a beautiful card afterward letting me know they were still thinking of us and our loss, and knew how painful it had been. The staff always call after appointments to follow up, they always take the time to answer all your questions, even if you call at the last minute, I have never had a problem scheduling appointments, refilling medications, etc. Their love of animals shows and my pets LOVE going. They know when they are going to the vet and it isn't a word we have to avoid in our house, they actually get excited when they go! One of our dogs had an aural hematoma this past summer and we were at the vet's office frequently, and even though it was just one dog that needed to be seen, both dogs always ended up going, and the vet never minded. They adore the dogs, feed them treats, have their own cats that wander the place and love on customers looking for treats of their own. If you love pets, and are looking for a truly animal friendly environment, this is the place for you!
Choosing the right vet for your pet can be tough. After all, your furry friend can't tell you how he or she feels about the doctor. Even though you're not the one treated by the vet, whoever your animal sees is obviously your decision. Since many veterinary diseases and injuries can turn into emergencies very quickly, it's important to have a go-to vet. This way, you can ensure you'll know whom to see when your animal needs care.
Speak to your friends and family about vets who've treated their pets. You can even talk to your groomer or an animal shelter worker for referrals. When you visit the clinics you've been referred to, check that the facility is clean, animals are separated and the staff is calm and courteous. Not all clinics are American Animal Hospital Association accredited. This accreditation isn't a legal necessity, though a clinic that's AAHA-accredited is guaranteed to offer high-quality medical care. To receive accreditation, the clinic has to meet the AAHA's standards in the areas of facility, equipment and quality care.
If you're looking for a specialist, you want to make sure he or she is board-certified to practice in that specific area of animal medicine. You'll want to make sure your vet is also convenient to visit, so there are factors to take into account.
The type of animal you own should play a part in which vet you choose as well. While your options are vast if you have a dog or cat, you may have to visit an avian clinic for your bird or an exotics clinic for your snake.
Just as there are many types of doctors, there are many types of vets. Some focus on livestock or house pets, while others may specialize in dentistry or surgery. They may work in a veterinary clinic or zoo, working specifically with the animals housed there, or travel to farms to work with livestock. Since horse racing and other equestrian activities are so popular, some vets are trained to work just with horses.
Diseases, like malaria and yellow fever are also transmitted through animals. Some vets have insight to diseases that affect both humans and animals. Vets have contributed to the treatment and cure of many diseases that plagued both humans and their furry friends.
Government agencies employ veterinarians as well. When an animal comes from a foreign land, these vets quarantine them and check for any diseases that may be present in an effort to control new diseases that can be brought into the country. Other Specific types of vets include:
A vet assistant works alongside the veterinarian and helps out around the clinic. In some cases, they may assist vets in surgery or restrain struggling animals during tests or lab work. The everyday duties of a veterinary assistant include; monitoring and caring for animals after surgery, keeping medical records, cleaning animals' teeth, feeding and bathing them, cleaning cages, sterilizing surgical equipment, giving animals medication, collecting samples for testing and performing laboratory tests, and offering grief counseling to pet owners.
It's a good idea to bring your pet to the vet regularly. This way, he or she becomes familiar and comfortable with the care providers, and you can stay on top of your pet's preventative care. If the animal is small enough, bring it to the office in a carrier. Just as you visit the doctor for a yearly check up, you should bring in your pet for regular check ups as well. During a routine veterinary visit, the vet will probably begin by asking you if there have been any changes in your pet's behavior or habits.
The vet will then take your pet's vitals, like weight, temperature, pulse and respiration rate, and perform a physical examination of the pet. During a physical exam, the vet checks the abdomen for swollen organs, and the legs, feet and joints for any potential problems. Depending on the age, breed or condition of your pet, your veterinarian may also check the eyes, ears and mouth.
When your vet conducts a full body examination, he or she will check out your pet's coat and skin, noting any hair loss, itchy spots or lumps. Keep note of your animal's shedding habits so you can let the vet know if anything seems abnormal. The vet will check for parasites, fleas, ticks, mites and heartworms as well.
Vaccinations are also important to your pet, especially if you have a cat or a dog, and your vet will suggest that you make sure they're current. Keeping up to date with vaccinations can prevent your furry friend from getting distemper, rabies, hepatitis and lyme disease. Some vaccinations last longer than others, so speak to your doctor about staying caught up with your animal's shots.
Just like your own health insurance, you want to make sure your animal is covered before he or she needs veterinary services. Some common animal surgeries can cost thousands of dollars, and you don't want to end up having to foot a surprise bill that costs more than your paycheck.
There's no set price for pet health insurance. Costs can depend on factors such as where you live, the age and breed of your pet, and how much coverage you want. Before you take out a pet insurance policy, you'll want to meet with your vet to go over what he or she thinks your animal should be covered for. Many vets believe that you should make sure cancer, chronic disease, hereditary and congenital disease, and common breed-related medical conditions are all addressed in your policy.
Some pet owners can't afford insurance for their pet, so there are other options to make paying for surprise pet visits as easy as possible. Some pet stores have wellness plans - which tend to be much cheaper than an insurance policy - that offer shots, check ups, screenings and discounts on various procedures your pet may need. A lot of veterinary offices offer payment plans for pricey procedures as well, as long as you have decent credit history. For a last-ditch option, there are even privately funded organizations that offer pet owners financial aid for their pet's treatments.
