Steamboat House Restaurant in Houston, TX

Taste of Texas is by far one of the greatest restaurants in the state of Texas. Everything there just melts in your mouth. They have a great salad bar, delicious fresh baked bread, and many options for wine and some beer (from what I remember). If you come here I recommend the steaks as this is what they are known for. They have the freshest meats and you can even choose your cut if so desired. When I dined there, I ordered the New York Strip Sirloin (Medium Rare) and it was to die for. They cooked it to perfection (with just the right amount of pink) and it was so tender and juicy it would literally melt in your mouth it was so good. The atmosphere was a romantic setting with kind of dimmed lights. The servers are all very kind and helpful and make sure you have a great experience at the restaurant. Although this place is a little pricey, it is a great date night place as well as a place to eat with your family. The only reason I did not give a 5 star is because the wait can be really bad. They do not have call ahead seating nor reservations so sometimes you will be waiting about two hours plus just to sit at a table. To give a hint on how popular it is, we got there 30 mins after it opened and we waited an hour and a half to get a table for 4 people.Overall I highly recommend going, you will not regret it after having there delicious steak.

Cocktails are watered down versions of themselves! My husband and I ordered 2 each in an effort to find a decent, relaxing drink to go with our (good) meal. Couldn't do it!! !!We will not waste our hard earned money in this way again!!

We go with friends quite often after church on Saturday evenings and have always had good service and food.

Great place to eat. Get their early or u may have to wait a longe time. they also have a good cooking claas.

Well it was a beautiful Friday night, decided to stop at the place for a drink with a friend. We went to the bar and proceeded to walk through the club to find a place to sit. It was about 11pm it wasn't crowded but 99% of the seating was reserved. We were kind of confused because there was no place for walk ins to sit not even at the bar. We decided to seat on the arm of a sofa near the bar. After about ten minutes a girl approached me and my guy saying we were bothering her people. We were like what, what are you referring to, she said move this is reserved. We told her she was rude and unprofessional. She had a very bad attitude and didn't even give us an opportunity to move before she begin yelling at us. I asked for her name she said she's the Friday night promoter Angela. Well Angela you should keep in mind that walk-ins should be welcomed as well. I will never return to this establishment. The reserve area may have cost $25-$50 but we walked in paid $20, spent $80 on drinks in ten minutes. You acted as if me being disrespected was no big deal like you said you being doing it for six years so a few unhappy customers is no big deal. Thank God for reviews because I am spending the day doing as many as I can find on your Friday night promotions. Consumers let's show them how important it is to treat all customers with respect.

Menu is very limited. It was so loud in there people had to raise their voices to talk to the person sitting at the table with them. The food was not worth what was paid. The salad had been sitting in the bowl in the fridge. You could tell bc the tomatoes were soggy. The baked potato was straight out of the microwave. The steaks were garnished with some half a** attempt at fried onions.

I always love it at Saltgrass, no matter which one I go to but this one really has excellent service. Quick, friendly staff. Oh yeah, and the food is just great. I had the Baby Back Ribs and grilled chicken. Mmmm. If I win Publishers Clearing House, I swear I'll be there at least four days a week or more. Lol.

We live in California. We chose this location to host a wedding party luncheon for 30 people following a ceremony at the Houston LDS temple, based on the reputation of Outback Steakhouse in general. We were not disappointed in the least. We had made arrangements ahead of time for a set menu and told them time was of the utmost importance. The food was delicious and served as we walked through the door. Everyone loved it. The only leftovers were the extra dinners we had ordered "just in case". The service was excellent!

Great Food, Great Service, The Chef personally came to our Table and introduce himself, will definetely come back soon.

I went for the retirement group seminar for conoco . The steak was a littlke over cooked but service was great.
