Wow. I wish I'd read the reviews before I decided to buy from them. I went on their (messed up) website, picked 3 pieces of glass at $8.95 each, put them in my cart, choose $0 ground shipping, and placed order. I got an email receipt showing the glass and $0 shipping and a total of $26.85. Cool.A week later the woman calls and says the website is wrong and that the glass were actually $12.95 each and did I still want them. I said I had to think about it. The next day I shopped all over online again and it was still a better price because of the free shipping, so I called her back and said go ahead with the order. The box arrived today with a receipt - for $70.31! What? Turns out they'd added on $31.43 in shipping! I went back on the website because I'd remembered reading that there was a minimum dollar amount to place an order and thought maybe I'd misinterpreted that as how you get free shipping. Turns out that the cart shows the total and the option for $0 ground shipping but at the bottom of the page, in tiny font, is a paragraph that includes "Shipping charges will be added to your total, when your package is weighed prior to shipping"Wow. So, first of all, it doesn't matter if you made a mistake on your website, the law is that if you post a price, you have to honor it. I let that go without any argument, but this shipping nonsense - nope. I called her today and very nicely started to explain that I had no idea there was going to be a shipping charge - and she hung up on me! What? Are you 12? I called back 6 times and she'd let it go to voice mail except once when she picked up but wouldn't say anything! Wow. So, I contested the charge with my credit card company and they approved it immediately. Do NOT do business with this sneaky, bait and switch, crappy customer service American Stained Glass Company.
Horrible customer service if negative stars were an option they would get -10. Ordered some glass over a week ago did not get an email that my order was received so I called and was told that someone would get back to me. I'm still waiting. When I call them I either get a machine or they hang up. Wow I've been doing stained glass professionally for years if I treated my customers like this I would be out of business. The only reason I tried using American Stained Glass Co is they had a piece of glass I desperately need to finish a repair on a Tiffany piece which they say they have in stock.
Waste of time for any stained glass artists. The lady who runs the place will not allow anyone but her to even browse through the glass. You have to bring a pattern in and allow her to help assist in selecting the glass. The store has wonderful finished pieces but is not for anyone wanting supplies.
Talked to someone named Mia or Mai. All I can say the worst coustomer service I've expirenced in my entire life. I'm glad i did not take the time to personally come to the company and order in person. Just like everyone else I called to asked for a quote, since the sizes were small, I had my mind set on buying them but I still wanted to ask for a quote to see if I was getting rip off or not. The receptionist sound like a sweet young lady, she transferred me to Mia who was rude from the start. She answered by saying " Mia speaking" Not even 5 second pass and she rudely said hello. Everytime I ask or say something she rudely cut me off and says something else. All in all, she did not answer any of my question and I end up not buying from this company. I felt like I wasted my time talking to someone so rude!! Good thing there was more glass company near by. One thing I never tolerate in life is bad coustomer service, that is how you lose coustomers!! Beware of her. You have been warned.
contacted them through text message as written on their website and got a quick response back with a quote. Then once i asked for something in writing they were unresponsive. i asked if they could come out on a certain day. they responded yes. then i asked for the written quote again and again no response. i call them the morning they agreed they would come out and the guy acted totally uninterested in my business.
