The leader of this church is Bro. Archie Hayward, and he is truly a man sent by God. When you go to this church, you will hear a word that is specific to you and that can help you turn away from sin. If you obey the teachings, you will prosper in the ways of God. The motto at this church is "We don't come here because we are already so good or so perfect. We come here to be made good." And we are made good by obeying the teaching and having the mind to go all the way for God. There are "Perfecting of the Saints " bible studies here on Wednesday and Friday nights at 7:30pm where you can ask any question that you want and will get an answer straight from the word of God. Ask anything that you want to know, and Bro. Hayward can answer it. On Sundays, Sunday School starts at 10 am with Sunday Service Beginning at 11 am. Every 3rd Sunday of each month, we have our Young Adults on Fire for Christ Service at 6:30 pm. How many churches have you seen with young adults that live by the word of God: no cursing, no fornication, no drinking, no smoking, no adultery, no clubbing? It is happenning at Refuge Tabernacle. God is truly working in us, and I thank God for giving me an opportunity to hear his word and repent that my soul could be saved. Coming to Refuge Tabernacle was the best thing that ever happened to me. Come and see for yourself.
I travel from Dallas every year to attend the St.Joesph annual fest. Great fest to see old friends, great music, great food and a great week-end get away. The mass is very authentic, the feeling of returning home.

These are intolerant people who do not care about kids who are simply smarter than the rest and therefore cannot fall into their typical Catholic drone model. These kids are discriminated against openly. Do NOT go here!

I was pleasantly surprised to find that Pastor Brown of Salt Mine Ministries was very well studied in the word of God. She is an exceptional teacher, preacher, and counselor. Pastor Brown also carries the Theology credentials to fortify her standing as a community and spiritual leader as well as role model; she has earned a degree of Th.D (Doctorate in Theology). There is a warm, caring, loving, and spirit filled atmosphere at this church. It is a small white church that sits on an inner city block that shines as an oasis in this neighborhood. I happen to prefer smaller churches, as I have attended some of the mega churches in the city and felt lost in the shuffle. At this church I am fully engaged in the Chrisitian spiritual experience. All of the members were welcoming, very nice, and inviting. I enjoyed the service and have attended several times since my first visit. I am now under serious consideration of joining this ministry. They even serve breakfast after the morning service (How cool is that?) :-)
Prince of Peace is a great church. And it is big – the buildings and the number of parishioners. It has a lot of different things to offer to all ages, ethnicity and preferred activities. The best way to really get to appreciate this Catholic Community is to participate in one or more of the following: several bible study opportunities, International Festival, women’s and men’s prayer breakfasts and retreats, movie nights, concerts, golf tournaments, parish cruises, pilgrimages to Rome or the Holy Land. You can also be of service by helping to distribute food and Christmas presents to those in need, sign up for an hour of adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, serve as a liturgical minister (Usher, Eucharistic Minister, etc.), or go on a mission trip to Guatemala. No matter who you are, you are bound to find something that will help you develop a closer relationship with God while making new friends and serving others.
WHAT A GREAT SCHOOL!!! We are soooo excited there is a middle school now! St. Rose holds up to its mission of educating the entire youth - mind, body and spirit. So nice to have our children educated not only academically but spiritually, too! St. Rose challenges the students to "do more" - academically and spiritually. I have children in elementary and middle school - all are getting a top notch education! The teachers are truly preparing the students for excellence by expecting more out of them. The Fine Arts program is out of this world, too! The art my children come home with are truly masterpieces! The band program is awesome, too! I am so proud of what my children have accomplished and happy to have made some true friends along the way - I'm so glad that St. Rose was a part of it all!!
Probably what I like most of all that St. Thomas offers is the diverse atmosphere which is great. They help make my kids feel like they are part of the community and the teachers are very warm and welcoming. They do a good job at keeping parents involved and informers too. I have helped with the athletics- coaching and the parents (wb & PTO). I am never worried about what is going on at the school because the teachers really have their best interest in the children and parents at heart. I feel it is very safe and I have no complaints to the safety or the disciplinary policies. I like how if I have a question and I email them they get back to me in a timely manor, very prompt and just great communication which makes it a better experience for even the parent.
I have to say, beginning in a small church, migrating to a very large church and settling down in a medium size church such as A Safe Place Christian Center is the best move I could've ever made for myself and my children. We are finally home!!! My daughter has become an active member of the church, on her own. My son has done the same. I'm so proud of them. I am now involved in helping with the Anniversary planning which is great. I strongly suggest visiting us to see for yourself just how great God is. He is doing great things through the congregation, from the youth to the elders!!!! The doors are always open!!! Church School begins at 9am. Service begins at 10:15am Hope you see you there!!!!
Prince of peace is vibrant, diverse, and welcoming parish. The size can be overwhelming at first but this size provides for a wide range of opportunities for outreach, fellowship, education and evangelization. We have several great programs from childcare for many events(including mass), marriage enrichment, & youth programs from pre-k through graduation. Many great opportunities for spirtual development through mass, sacraments, retreats, and adoration. Staff and pastors are concerned about concerns of parishioners, but true to church teaching. If you are looking to come back to the church or checking about what this Catholic thing is all about, I would highly recommend this parish.
Spirit of Life Church is one of the most uplifting churches I have ever visited. I went and the pastor refused to allow anyone to be broke and destitute. He was so down to earth and made the Word come Alive. IT was sort of hard to find on the next block over from Shepard by Parker, However it was worth the hunt. The staff there were so professional and warm. My kids even loved the Childrens Church. If you like radical then visit "Spirit of Life Unleasehed' at the 11:00 hour. It was not my grandmothers church! I can't wait to attend one oftheir 3 Nights of Glory. I recommend it. Go see for yourself.
Both of my sons attended St. Thomas More and we found it to be a great experience for them. I was very happy with their academic progress and they focus very strongly on math and science. I never had to worry about what was going on at the school. They did a great job at providing a safe learning environment and disciplinary policies. The staff was available and attentive to your concerns and they provided a variety of activities for their students that my kids took advantage of. Overall it was a great experience for them and for me. I strongly recommend them to anyone that is considering this school.
What I like the most about the school and is the reason why my children attend St. Thomas Moore is because the staff is very supportive about values, faith, the environment, and the community. It is a family environment that they provide a wonderful curriculum. The staff is caring, nurturing and have an open line of communication with parents. The kids go to mass together once a week and I feel that my children feel at ease and are welcomed here. We are very happy to have found a great school that fits our values, needs, and curriculum, and on top of it all it is close to us.
