I was referred to US Vanline by a friend. I am extremely happy with how professional they work. I lived in Houston and got a job change that brought me to New YJersey and it's tough to trust a company with a long distance move when you have many fragile items you are packing up. When I arrived everything was moved in perfectly; not a scratch or ding on anything and the movers were great with getting everything in so quickly. If anyone is looking for a professional moving company that will get the job done I seriously recommend US Vanline.
I used Transit moving systems to move my boyfriend's things to another state, which I was super impressed that they deliver anywhere. I was a little worried but they did an amazing job moving our things. They did it exactly within the time they said they would, so it was efficient and the movers were all super friendly, which is a nice change in pace from the impersonal people I used once before. I would recommend this company to anyone I know moving, because the price was one I couldn't beat by calling elsewhere and they did a wonderful job!
Before I proceed, let me say that the actual Movers--as distinguished from the Moving Company (i.e., VIP Relocation)--were pretty good. Like some other Customers, I only wish that they could have moved faster. It took a 4-man crew from 9 a.m. until roughly 2 a.m. the next day, to move from our storage units in the Austin area (i.e., 5 5x5x7 vaults; 1 sofa bed; 1 10x15 climate-controlled unit with miscellaneous items), down to Houston.Now, as for this Company (i.e., VIP Relocation), if I could give 0 stars--better yet NEGATIVE stars--I would.My Family and I employed the services of VIP Relocation, following a fairly extensive review of proposals from numerous companies. Our negotiations were with Josh Henley, who seemed friendly enough--but, on the other hand, was suspiciously talkative. As part of his sales pitch, VIP Relocation via Josh:1. Assured us that the Trip Charge would be the only cost for transportation/travel, and that we would not be charged hourly for any transportation. We negotiated on the Trip Charge, bringing it down from $500 (or more) to $313.2. Agreed to a Hybrid Fee, comprised of an Hourly Rate, but with a ceiling, as Josh was confident that the Movers would be able to move us within a relatively fixed time. We negotiated the Hourly Rate from $175 (or more) to $135.3. Agreed to a Firm Estimated Range of Total Moving Cost. The low end of this range (i.e., best case for us) was $1,200. The high end of this range (i.e., worst case for us) was $1,500.In consideration of the above and foregoing, my Family and I agreed to employ VIP Relocation. Otherwise, we could easily have taken comparable bids from other companies, most of which have good to great reviews. (We are just seeing the reviews for VIP Relocation, starting with this site. Next time, we will seek and read such reviews, prior to making any decisions.)Pursuant to this Agreement, VIP Relocation via Josh:1. Emailed us a "canned" e-sign confirmation, which reflected none of the above and foregoing, but merely stated standard terms. (However, according to VIP, all of their conversations are recorded. We shall see, as I describe further, below.)2. Upon my tendering a credit card, charged me a deposit of $50.Now, for the largest part of our dissatisfaction and corresponding complaint:1. Around or about 2 a.m. (recall that the move started around or about 9 a.m. of the previous day), we found ourselves somewhat at odds with the Movers, who, in turn, back and forth with someone (presumably Larry Williams, who is supposed to be Josh's Manager/Supervisor).2. The Movers were, at that time, attempting to charge us, not only the $313 Trip Charge, but also $135 for every hour from 9 a.m. of the previous day through 2 a.m. of the next day--roughly $2,400--a vast departure from Josh's Firm Estimated Range of Total Moving Cost, viz. from $1,200 to $1,500.3. To the Movers' Credit, the Crew Supervisor was willing to "eat" the difference between the $1,500 maximum that we were promised, and the $2,400 that VIP Relocation was allegedly and purportedly "requiring" him to charge us. To this proposal, we could not equitably assent, as it would not have been fair for the Movers.4. As a compromise between the Movers and us--and with the reluctant assent of whomever was on the phone with the Crew Supervisor (again, presumably Larry)--we offered to pay $2,000. VIP Relocation via the Crew Supervisor accepted this $2,000, charging my card therefor. However, as of a little while ago, VIP Relocation via Larry has further charged me without authorization for $355.50. Now, Larry does not want to talk, claiming that his company policy does not allow him to do so--but, Larry has no comment about whether his company policy allows him to engage in fraud.In addition to this Review, I am preparing to take action.

Transit moving systems had been hiring vans and running the business in the past. But during my last move with them, I found out that the company has finally bought their own fleet of vans. The van I got was really a showstopper. I asked around and all their brand new vans are state-of-the-art. The company itself has always been amazing. They priced their services quite reasonably and always took good care of my belongings. But their new fleet is just the cherry on the cake. I just can’t find a reason for not hiring them anymore.
Normally moving is too difficult. Better planning needed for a hustle free move but Transit moving systems made my move hustle free. It is really a good moving company. I heard about them beforehand from many of my friends. This company moved my household last week. At first, I saw their hard work few months ago at my neighbor’s home. Then I decided to hire them. They shared a plan regarding how they wanted to carry out the total process. They connected my washing machine so carefully. They didn't damage anything at all. Best experience ever in a move.
When I moved 3 years back, I hired Transit moving systems to move my belongings. They did a fantastic job back then. It didn't quite work out for me. So I am back to the small town. I hired the same company again to do the job. I am surprised at their standards which remain unchanged even 3 years later. I booked Transit moving systems two weeks ago. I thought it will be very difficult to move with so many belongings. But the movers moved everything cautiously. My move with them was superb smooth. They work harder with a careful and helpful attitude. They had plenty of packing materials. They applied poly bags and wrappers. Most of their labor was intelligent and professional. They delivered on due time and nothing went missing or damaged. My family members enjoyed their work very much.
It is so hard to find moving companies that are reliable. Some of them have broken my furniture beyond repair and many boxes have gone missing. So I didn’t expect US Vanline to be any different while they conducted my last move. When they delivered all my belongings in the same state they took them, right then I realized how amazing this company really is. They quoted very reasonably and their movers worked efficiently to save my hard earned cash. On top of that, they took inventory at the beginning of the move and made sure that each item arrives at the final destination. I am happily recommending them.

For example, a full-service move that includes packing and unpacking will be pricier than a local move that only includes loading the truck, driving it to the new home and unloading it.

For both local and long-distance moving companies, AMSA is another good place to check out a company's legitimacy. Moving companies aren't required to be an AMSA member, but the ones that are have committed to the association's rules and regulations, which protect both the companies and the consumers hiring them. If a company isn't an AMSA member, that doesn't mean it isn't reputable, but an AMSA membership is a clear indication of legitimacy.

Pack and Transport Your Valuables

Moving companies can better keep your belongings safe when the movers plan ahead. What does this mean? Many companies take extra time to measure doorways, halls and stairways to find the safest route in and out of your home. They should also provide furniture blankets, covers and moving pads to keep both your home and your belongings free of scratches or other damage.

There are some things you can control on moving day and some things you simply can't, such as the weather. If you're moving on a snowy, icy or rainy day, keeping all of your paths, stairways and walkways clear and dry is crucial. This can help protect both the movers and the large items they're carrying to and from the truck.
The subject of tipping is relatively unclear when it comes to movers. However, there is a general rule of thumb that most people in the industry agree on: Tip your movers if they've done a good job and you think a tip is warranted.
Generally, a 5 percent tip is considered appropriate, though some people recommend paying $20 per day, per mover for basic, local moves. However, almost everyone agrees you should first do a quick walk-through of your home to check for any damage to your furniture or belongings and to make sure everything is where you'd like it to be.
If you do decide to give a tip, divide it evenly and give money to each individual, rather than giving the entire sum to the head mover and expecting it to be doled out equally. One type of tip to avoid: alcohol. It's usually illegal for movers to have bottles of alcohol in the truck or van, so tipping a bottle of wine or liquor could get them into trouble.
