This is the worst place to get a cake from!!!!!!!!!! When i walked into this place i was excited and anxious about my daughters cake. The blond woman in the from desk was very very very rude. Her not knowing what i was able to afford she was talking to me as if i was unable to purchase a cake from her. I dont care if you have the worlds greates cakes if your customer service sucks then it all sucks. If someone is coming to this place is to purchase something and is spending money with them so what else then to give good customer service. Then i later on find out a friend had bought a cake from them and it was not even all that!!!! This is the worst place for cakes ever!!!!!

The cake was perfect for our wedding. The compliments are still coming in not only for how beautiful it was, but how amazing it tasted. We went with the traditional wedding cake which was vanilla with amaretto flavorings. Thank you so much for a beautiful and delicious cake! I am already looking forward to getting to eat it again at our one year anniversary!

I had my wedding cake created by Who Made The Cake. I had great customer service when I visited the store. Nadine and I picked out the cake design that I wanted from her photos of cakes. The cake that I recieved at my wedding was a messy replica of the one we picked out. I requested swirls on all of the cake. They looked like they were drawn on at the last minute, very messy and unimpressive. The color matching was very off as well. I was very disappointed as this is suppose to be one of the centerpieces of the event. I am an artist as well, and I know when something was just thrown together at the last minute. On the positive side, the cake was delicious...raspberry filling with amaretto vanilla icing.

Nadine and her staff at Who Made the Cake did an amazing job. We had a very small wedding and ordered the smallest cake she makes, but I still felt like my cake was just as important to them as every other cake order they had.
It's true that Nadine is not the warmest, fuzziest person you'll meet, but I who needs to be best friends with their baker??? I needed a stunningly beautiful and absolutley delicious cake. Who Made the Cake delivered exactly that. (A little known secret about Nadine - I showed up on a Friday to discuss just a few last minute details and she was bubbly, personable and smiling ear-to-ear. She decorates the cakes on Fridays; this is what she loves, and this is what matters most.)
The cake was far more beautiful than I had imagined, and it tasted even better than it looked. Several of my guests said it was the most beautiful wedding cake they'd ever seen. I even had some difficulty convincing them that the flowers on the cake were not real, and were in fact hand made by Who Made the Cake.
This was the one item we splurged on for our wedding, and I am so glad we did. It was worth every penny and more.

Hi, it's been a month since our wedding, and people are STILL raving over our bridal and groom cakes asking ""Who made the cakes???""! When I first looked at the website, I just knew they were going to be very, ahem, ""pricey"", because their cakes were GORGEOUS. Absolutely a work of art, all of them. However, when I went to my consultation, they cost as much for both cakes as I thought just one would be! Unbelievable. My now-husband's cake was a cooler of Coronas, and everyone thought it was real right up to us cutting into it! My cake was a 3-tier cake with vines and different shapes for the tiers, and that was a huge success. Who Made The Cake were very helpful with the selections, very flexible with the flavors, and VERY timely with the delivery. I've been recommending them to everyone at my job who's getting married, and may the company have much success in the future!

After reading all of the reviews, I felt compelled to put some perspective on both the service and product offered by Who Made the Cake.
Let me begin by saying that my husband and I ordered a wedding cake for a post elopement reception at Brennan's in October, 2007. This business came highly recommended by the banquet coordinators at Brennans who do everything with class. Our actual wedding took place in August in St. Lucia but we felt like our parents and children needed that ""real wedding experience."" It was planned rather last minute (about a month out) and was only for 25 people.
I agree that they were hard to get in touch with. I left several initial messages that were not returned. Getting prices over the phone was impossible. If your cake is not very large, they will not meet with you in person (Nadine or anyone else!). You cannot come in and do cake tastings and look at portfolios if your cake is not big enough. The receptionist was not super informative and it did not have the ""touchy feely"" experience that most brides want. I wanted a very specific, delicious and beautiful wedding cake that followed through with my silver and white beach themed dinner reception. After going in and looking at the sample cakes in person as well as bringing home a ""sample box"" of the most popular flavors for my husband and I to sample, I got the cake of my dreams.
Not only was my cake stunning and truly a centerpiece and ABSOLUTELY delicious. No, Nadine did not speak or say hello when I came in. No, it was not easy to get in touch with someone to give me advice. However, once I actually spoke with one of the bakers her ideas were perfect and she was able to take them to modify one of the samples I chose. Would I order all over again? ABSOLUTELY. The 4 stars deducts for the less than ideal business experience. My anniversary is this Friday and I can't wait to eat the top layer with my wonderful husband of 1 year! Worth every penny!

My husband and I were married this past June and Nadine made both of our cakes for the reception. Our experience with Nadine was a very pleasant one and the finished product was impeccable. I chose to have a four tiered cake with a quilted pattern and gum paste roses on top; and my husband chose to have a cake made in the shape of a space shuttle. Not one line on my cake was out of place and every detailed and dimension of the groom's cake matched the model that we brought to her store perfectly. I was also very impressed by the taste and size of the fondant that Nadine used on our cakes. It was very thin and tasty and better than any fondant icing I have tried before. I was also told numerous times by family and friends that our cakes were the best they had ever had. Nadine also met with my husband and I personally each time we visited her store. I would recommend Who Made the Cake to anyone hoping to WOW their guests.
I hired Nadine to do both cakes at my wedding and they were absolutely gorgeous and tasted even better than they looked. Nadine was not mean at all she is a little quiet, but whoever mistaked being shy for mean?? she did a wonderful job and i was incredibly pleased and my family couldn't get enough of the cakes and finished them off after the wedding. Her building is so cute! She is vey nice and a great artist!! there are such fun cakes on display to choose from. I would reccomend Who Made the Cake to everyone i know!!!
We recently were married in May (2008) and were lucky to work with Nadine Moon and her staff at Who Made the Cake. With only 4 months to plan a wedding for over 1000 guests, Nadine was so kind to squeeze us in despite her extremely busy schedule. She was extremely nice and professional to us, and we were both extremely pleased with the service, suggestions, and overall meeting. She readily accepted any other changes we had to our original order, of course we respected the deadlines she put together to ensure our cake was beautiful.
To this day, people cannot stop talking about our cake!! Some guests told us not to cut the cake, and told us to put the cake on our mantle. The bridal cake was a multi layered cake, and the flavor we choose was a traditional vanilla cake with fresh raspberries baked in. The groom's cake was a replica of a grill, and the flavor was chocolate with caramel in the middle. Both of the cakes were fresh and were fresh for a week after which our families happily enjoyed the left overs. We both had met with other cake vendors, however Who made the cake was the only one that stood out from the rest not only for their service and beauty of their cakes, but the TASTE - the cakes taste amazing!
Nadine and her staff made our wedding extremely beautiful with the cake they made for us. They paid every attention to detail and made us feel extremely special through out our experience with her. Even when our wedding was chosen to be featured on Platinum Weddings, she worked with our schedule for our final tasting and discussion of the details of our cakes. We both would not recommend anyone else to do a wedding cake -- she and her staff was simply amazing in every way.

I scheduled my consultation shortly after the bridal show and did have to wait 2 weeks to get a consultation. Nadine personally met with me. After looking through books, we tasted samples...the best of any cake in Houston that we had tried, and we tried a few. Nadine then went through our selections and really talked to us asking questions about different things we liked. I wasn't sure what I wanted, and was very surprised when she showed me a sketch and it pulled together all the things I liked in the photos as well as my invitation design, but couldn't picture together. It was perfect. The grooms cake we selected was an ice chest with an edible redfish and lid saying HOOKED.
I can't believe these negative reviews. It's surprising. Nadine was not mean in the consultation, but very businesslike. She was not overly chatty, just seemed to be concentrating on the cakes and designing something for us that we would like. She is truly an artist and on our wedding day, we were thrilled with the cakes and they tasted even better. They were everything we'd dreamed of and our guests are still raving about the cakes. I would highly recommend Nadine to anyone I know. (She has also done two of my friends cakes.) If you don't taste her cakes, you are missing out. She may be a ""moody"" artist type, but I have no doubt that her cake designs and quality are the best in Houston!

THIS BAKERY HAS VERY EXPENSIVE PRICES AND A RUDE BAKER. SHE SPENT 15 MINUTES TRYING TO CONVICE US THAT OUR DEISGN WAS UGLY AND SHOULD BE CHANGED TO HER DESIGN. CONFRONTATIONAL, EXPENSIVE AND RUDE - SHE WON'T BE IN BUSINESS LONG IF PEOPLE HEAR HOW SHE TREATS PEOPLE!

I made a HUGE mistake hiring Who Made The Cake! to make my bride's and groom's cakes for my wedding last May. I'll give Nadine (aka ""Miss Thing"") one star only because the cakes were delivered.
All the other vendors I worked with for my wedding were wonderful, but Nadine was horrible to me and my mother. She was extremely rude - I had to bend over backwards to get a face-to-face appointment with her, for which we arrived 10 minutes early and for which she was 15 minutes late. Her staff is incompetent and that's putting it nicely.
I discussed my cake in detail with Nadine and she assured me how wonderfully talented she was. Upon taking my first look at it during the wedding, I was horribly disappointed. It looked nothing like the magazine photos I had presented, which were incredibly simple and not elaborate.
Don't waste your money. This woman is a premadonna and overexaggerates her talent. I wish I had hired someone else and not have been treated like such a thorn in her side. For what she charges, she should invest in an etiquette course.

In spite of ""Who made the cake's"" beautiful designs and great tasting cakes, their terrible customer service completely turned my fiancee and I off. I believe the lady we spoke with was Nadine. I am not sure because she did not even introduce herself to my fiancee, her father, or myself when we arrived, which was not very endearing for someone you are considering giving thousands of dollars to bake a cake. She was short with her answers, NEVER smiled, and generally looked like she had better things to be doing or more important people to talk to. Maybe she was having a bad day, but I would not want someone involved in my wedding who had that poor of an attitude.
