Studio 8 is a great shop that takes interest in each of its customers. You can tell you are in a professional environment as soon as you walk in the door. Very clean and everyone is very friendly and helpful. Levi did a fantastic job drawing up what i wanted and giving me a beautiful tattoo. He perfected the color scheme i wanted and included every detail that was in the drawing. After it was all healed, the colors are vivid and bright and i am very happy with it! I would definitely return to Studio 8 and make sure to ask for Levi.

I've had over 60 hours of tattoo work done at this shop. I'm friends with most everyone that works there by now, so I'll be upfront in saying that my review is probably not as un-biased as a new person that just walked in. Before I give my review though, I think Bubbles Good needs clarification on basic business principles.
* You didn't leave a deposit. Did they say they wouldn't be able to get to your tattoo ever, or just that day? Yeah, that's what I though. See, the artist was already working on another piece for a client that, in all likelihood - had already paid a deposit and was paying by the hour. From your post is says you only received the drawing and left no deposit. MANY times, the drawing needs to be reviewed by the potential client and either revised or touched up so it matches their exact expectations. Additionally, the artist probably wanted the appropriate amount of time to review the sketch with you and - you hadn't paid. The person in the chair already had left a deposit and was paying for the hours they had put in that day...what do you expect someone to do, kick out a paying customer just because you requested a sketch?
*** Have you ever been to a restaurant where they kicked out seated paying customers, just because your reservation was at 7? Ur not speshul...er, maybe.
Maybe there's more to it, I wasn't there. That said, a little understanding on your part about basic business principles probably would have gone a long way. If you didn't leave a deposit, you didn't even pay for the time to make the drawing (which was probably a couple of hours at least) - so you're ENTITLED to nothing.
Any business has a right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. I know these guys personally. And I can honestly say this would NEVER happen, unprovoked or to a courteous person. I've never seen anyone treated disrespectfully in that shop. I'm pretty sure demanding a drawing that took the artist several hours and cost you 0 isn't avoiding provocation - at least not to those of us that work for a living.
All that said, I have had so many hours of work done at this place for a reason - they are exceptional artists. If you want the best, go to the best. Yes, you have to actually PAY for the work you get, its not a tattoo charity where they hand out free sketches and ink - but you get more than you paid for. If you don't mind booking your appointment, taking a few minutes to review the sketch with the artist to make sure its perfect, and leaving a deposit so they know you'll be back for your apt., then you will be more than pleased and have no issues with your appointment time.

OMG!!! Never go here, I was set to have a tatt done and went in and talked to a artist...he gave me a time, date, and price so we set it up. When I got there he was already working on another client and said it would be a hour, so i said OK and went to get lunch. I then called and was told it would not be possible for that day, This was the manager talking to me on the phone, i tried to explain the situation and he bacame very abrubt and abrasive, he said i didnt put down a deposit so I had no right to say anything, he then very firmly and abravsily told me to go elsewhere. I had to go up there to obtain my drawing and he threatened to cal the police if I and myfriend didnt leave. The friend with me was a male and the manager stated he would meet him on the sidewalk if he wanted to continue to stay in the salon. The manager stated I was lying and confused as most customers are. he would not calm down enough to just listen to what happened during the conversation with his artist. That is not how managers respond to customer situations. I know everyone feels they are in the right but I never raised my voice nor did my friend. we were not rude or aggressive towards the manager.I went to another salon down the road and got my tatt in 45 mins with kindness and was welcomed from the staff....PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS SALON!!!!
DO NOT GO to this place, Shaine (The owner) is rude, it's a dirty shop and they aren't even that good.. STAY AWAY!!!
In this instance , The guy called me on the phone stating that he wanted to fix a bad tattoo that he already has. I told him sure come in and let me check it out. so then he proceeds to tell me how bad our website is and that he should be able to get his tattoo fixed, and he would pay by building me a new site. The way he said this to me kinda offened me especially since I had made the website. Told him I didn't need a new website and that he would have to pay with money. long story short, he got buutt hurt. Thanks for reading. Shaine A. Smith
I arrived as a walkin customer during a short visit to Houston. I started talking to Shane, the owner of Studio 8 about a Japanese inspired tattoo that I had wanted for several years. He showed me some of his drawings and I knew he understood exactly the style I wanted. I then explained that this was to be a cover-up and showed him the large dark upper arm tattoo that I wanted to go away. I really figured that the conversation would end there, but he shocked the hell out of me when he said "no problem, I'll just draw it directly on your arm". He told me his rate and we got started. I left that evening with a beautiful upper arm "sleeve" and plans for more visit's to houston for more work.
Tell Shane you want to see the photo's of "Gator's" cover-up and you will understand why I took the time to write this!
Go to this place! I did not know about this place until my friend recommended me to go here. (the place i wanted to go to got their times mixed up and couldn't fix me in) I went in and i did not have an appointment and the guy fit me right in. The place is clean. and the artists are nice and know what they are doing. It can be expensive, but you are paying for what you get. Which is excellent workmanship.
Also if you want to get a profile done that is photo realistic go to Zeo. He does a great job for an awesome price!
