First time I've been there since I was a kid. Walked in, everyone ignored me. I sat at the nearest booth. Strike one.
I wanted to try the wheat crust, but the menu said the individual pizza was thin crust only, so I asked for a medium wheat. ""We can't do that. Its only on the large pizza"". Strike two.
Pffth. So I ordered the 'everything' thin-crust individual and a very, very tiny beer. When the pizza finally arrived, the edge was crispy, but the rest of the pizza was wet and soggy. Yuck! Strike three.
Their idea of 'everything' was about 5 different toppings. Not in my book.
There are too many better pizza places to visit then bother with this one again.

I personally live by Beltway 8 and I drive all the way to Spanky's just to have pizza...and have a great time sippin on a cold frozen margarita and just lay back...the pizza is the best..yeah i have had NY Pizzeria pizza and its good but not as good as Spankys. Some people might not like the atmosphere but if you want to pay extra for crappy pizza but have 5 star dinner seating then go ahead and do that...but your missing out on on great pizza. Unlike some people...i don't care where i am sitting as long as the food is worth the price.

Ok, you already know that Spanky's is where to go for great pizza and wings...but dont forget to check out the philly chese steak, the baked spaghetti, fried mushrooms, the all american burger, creamy chicken alfredo, fresh bread sticks made on site daily, and the homemade house ranch dressing!!!!Also, dont forget after a long day that a refreshing ice cold draft or long island iced tea goes great with great service and a cozy atmosphere...see you at Spanky's!!!!

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! My husband and I dined there and were ABSOLUTELY DISRESPECTED!! Within ten minutes of closing, we were packing up our leftovers and had just received our check and an employee walks in front of my husband who was obviously looking at the television and turns it off. No explanation, no nothing...and then from the back of the restaurant someone yells ""you don't have to go home, but you have to get the f* out of here."" But the killer is, that there were 3 other customers sitting at the bar looking at the television and casually talking to the bartender as we left. It was not that close to closing that you had to kick people out, in fact I had driven nearly 10 miles away from the restaurant BEFORE it was actually closing time.
I will NEVER visit again. And I will be sure to tell EVERYONE that I know how poorly we were treated!!!

This is one of the best eateries in the city of Houston, I have lived here most of my life (over 40 years) and I lived near here most of that time. I recently visited Spanky's and it was like coming home. I had not visited for more than 20 years, and after seeing the sign with a new promotion, I decided to give it a try, I was extremely and pleasantly surprised by the fact the nothing had really changed, except the faces and they were like old friends. The food was great and the service was even better. Although they are known for their outstanding home made pizza, the buffalo wings are superb. Go on Monday's, during football season, they have a great wing special. The margarita's are pretty good too! Good place to take your kids, the staff makes even the smallest patrons feel special. Good place to let your ""hair down"" and be yourself.

A great place to eat for anyone. A good place to bring your family, anytime. Good wait staff who are attentive, but not so much that they become irratating, and they always have great smiles, and are friendly too. They have some of the best Pizza anywhere, and some of the best past anywhere. The place is a little noisy, but people are having fun being together. There are T.V.s everywhere with sports programs but the volume is not to loud if your interest is not with sports. Just a great place to eat.

I was born and raised in South East Houston and Spanky's has always been a favorite. I have now moved to Spring, TX and still drive all the way to Spanky's for pizza, a margarita, and get some lasanga to go. I have been going here since 1984 and now I have my son hooked and he's only 4. Through out the years nothing has changed this will always be my favorite.
