I came to this location for a general teeth cleaning 8 months ago and was pleased dental care, so it was a no brainer to come back. I came back to have a teeth whitening done because I have recently quit smoking and my teeth paid the price. I have a new job that requires me to meet with clients 4 times a week for lunch and I just didn't want to face another client with yellow teeth, so I came back to have the light activated bleaching procedure done. I have only had 3 sessions done and am very impressed with the results so far. What a huge difference, this beats those pesky store bought whitening strips. I am actually saving money doing this procedure than wasting my money on buying the strips every month along with other products. I can't wait to finally look in the mirror and have white sparkly teeth thanks to Southern Dental.

My experience at this location was entirely AWFUL. I was reluctant to even give a one star rating here. I had to wait a good hour past my appointment time before I was even seen, and that was just for xrays, and although my appointment was in the morning I did not end up leaving until late afternoon. The cleaning was fine, but the rest of the service was horrifyingly awful. The dentist's attitude was unfriendly, scolding, impatient, and pushy. I had some work done, and had to insist on more freezing, and was then jabbed carelessly. I was pressured to whiten my teeth (even though I have significant sensitivity), and to buy products that no other dentist had ever even mentioned to me. The procedure itself was painful, unnerving, and long. Even after I had indicated I did not want to buy a mouth guard it appeared on my bill (luckily I caught it). I have never had any issues with going to a dentist, but was really shaken afterward. Then to top it all off, once the freezing wore off I realised that the fillings were completely rough, and I ended up having extreme and additional sensitivity in my teeth, and even a new pain when chewing which lasted for several months until I had it fixed elsewhere. I ended up going to another dentist to get her work reviewed. It turned out that I had to get it all redone, as the job had been sloppy and was cutting into my gums. They had even done my records incorrectly!! And they charged me extra to get copies of my xrays for the new dentist. Obviously this only my experience and others may have had positive experiences here. But based on mine I would not recommend this office.
This office was great. I made an appointment at 8:00am that morning and they saw me by 12 that afternoon. Three other dentists told me I HAD to have a root canal, which i couldn't afford, but the the staff at Southern Dental were completely straight and honest with me. I came in, got my Xrays and got my tooth pulled. Dr. Iwuala was kind, gentle with a great sence of humor. I would recommend this office to anyone! :)

This place looks like a dump. I waited over ONE HOUR on my first visit. Only xrays and an ""exam"" were done. I was told I would have to come back for a cleaning. No one told me this in making my appt. Exam rooms do not have doors, there are no bowls to empty your mouth after the dentist has worked in it, but rather funnels with plastic liners that you are expected to do so into. Complete & utter disgust with this place. Doctor seemed nice, however cleanliness was definitely questionable. Overall, this place is HORRIBLE and I would not recommend. I will not be going back for my cleaning, needless to say.
