Was prescribed by my doctor to take a sleep study and he selected this location. I wanted an at home sleep study, but he selected this lab. Sleep studies are about $650 and last from 9pm-5am.
If you have any questions about a sleep study, ask them before you get there because there are no doctors on staff at night and the techs are afraid to answer questions because it may appear they are offering a diagnosis.
You get connected to about 20 probes and belts that monitor breathing, eye movements, leg movements, and Han movements.
Bring some PJ's because the bathroom is down the hall and you have to walk there with whatever you are wearing to sleep and with all the sleep monitor gear attached.
Sleepmed called me about 7 times before the study to ask me for a "voluntary" deposit of $330. Told them I would pay after they provided services. Got to the sleep study and the technician asked me where the check was for $330. I pay with a credit card that is tied to my health plan. They do not take credit cards at night.
With all the gear attached to me I did not sleep one wink all night. Now I am out $650. Don't know what happens next but I'm sure I will get a bill for the night and more calls asking for $330 deposit so we can try it again. Don't really know none of this was explained to me before I took the study.
If I can get an at home sleep study, that would be better. Those appear to be less intrusive and cost about $250. Too much pressure to sleep in one night with all the probes and belts attached.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience, but I believe this review was for the sleep lab in the back of the building, not our company, We only sell PAP machines and supplies in Houston. Sincerely, The Houston Team

Sorry I could not give a not star or negative star rating...
Sleep Med began my cpap machine and supplies about 2 years ago. For at least 18 mos I complained that I had problems waking up several times a night with dry mouth. In June of 2012 somebody finally listened and provided me with a chin strap that solved the problem, after 18 months!!!!
Now, they are billing me for over 400 dollars that was refused by Blue Cross/Blue Shield because they were not a provider. I called them and complained that they assured me they were a blue cross provider when I signed up for their services, now they have a collection agency calling my work cell phone to collect this bill.
Be very wary of their billing practices and the level of service they provide. They should have listened to me earlier than 18 months and attempted to solve their problem. Also, when you call their website, they refer you to another state for services, and another state for their billing, now I am dealing with a collection agency who has no one on the phone without an asian accent.
Again, be very wary of this company
