I came to the Rice Bowl based on the recommendation of an Indonesian man. The food was plentiful and some what tasty yet something was missing; the restaurant lacks personality. Would give them another try, just incase they're having an off day. Still not what I expected.

Simply outstanding!

Me and my wife always said we wanted to try out this place, and after doing that today, we are sorry it took us this long to do that! They offer a fantastic Chinese and Indonesian food menu to chose from. (if you want the Indonesian menu, you have to ask for it) My wife had something off of the Chinese menu, while I tried some Indo food, and both were outstanding! Her Seseme Chicken was fantastic, and my Kwetiau Goreng was something I will get time and time again. The staff is more than willing to tell you about the Indonesian food if you are unsure about it, which is very helpfull if you are like me and had never tried it before. There prices are real good for the size of their portions, and the food arived very quick.

This place might not look like much from the outside, or the inside for that matter, but don't let that steer ya from trying it out, you will not be disapointed.I highly reccomend trying something off their Indonesian menu, you will not be disapointed.

Great Indonesian restaurant on a budget

My boyfriend loves Indonesian food and found this place. At first, I was skeptical that I would like it since I've never tried Indonesian food and when we got there it was not the nicest looking place, just some plain tables and chairs with a counter to order food and a TV in the corner. But after ordering the Gado Gado and Chicken Satay, I have to say that I LOVE Indonesian food now! The chicken was cooked well and with white meat and the satay sauce was just right, not too peanutty or too thin. The Gado Gado sauce was yummy (spicy but not as peanutty as Satay sauce) and it covered a nice blend of veggies and tofu with prawn crackers on the side to scoop up the extra sauce. The prices were very affordable too! Less than $10/plate, if I remember correctly. You do have to ask for the Indonesian menu when you get there otherwise they'll give you the Chinese menu. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to try something different.

Indonesian Delight & Great Chinese

This is the best authentic Indonesian food in this town. The Rendang Sapi is spicy, gravy laden, tender and plentiful ... superb. The Chinese food is fresh, hot, delicious and plentiful. Always courteous service and Liz is always there with her friendly greeting. And she remembers your names too. Can't say enough good things about the food. The decor is a little quaint. The 5 star rating is for the food and service. It (the Bellaire location) is not in the best location which rates a 2 star after dark.

Best Indonesian Restaurant in Town

I always go there for the fried fish ..yummy !!!
but it takes a while to serve it .. so I usually phone ahead before heading to the restaurant .. 15 minutes should be enough ..
