I go regularly in this salon, the receptionist is fantastic and very friendly and competent
Colorists are real artists and hairdressers have this little Parisian touch very chic!!
i love Charles he is the owner and he is really amazing
My advice, try this hairdresser you will not be disappointed
I love Houston Dessange because each client is treated like a queen and i am a queen

I had gone to the same sytlish for a while and wasnt that impressed from the beginning but was referred to her and i still dont know where else to go and cant say I ever had that WOW FACTOR! My most recent experience will be the last for me. Word to the wise, If you change the price on me WITHOUT telling when you have numerous interactions with me beforehand, that is a dealbreaker. Going from $95 to $105 is NOT the problem, but not telling me about it when I first booked it, or when I checked in or when I called to confirm, especially since the price was different that last time, that really bothered me. I would gladly pay triple that dollar amount for a GREAT cut, im not being cheap, but at least I would KNOW what I was signing up for. And to not hear about the increase in price until I was done and ready to go was SHOCKING to me, especially since you could HARDLY tell I got it cut...if I want boring cuts, I would go to the mall for that, not what I thought was s sophisticated, upscale salonThe girl was pregnant that cut my hair, as usual NEVER listens to what I want and does her own thing. So, essentially, if someone wont listen to me and does what they want, that leaves me with a BORING cut that looks like was done at the local mall.
. WHERE IS THE CREATIVITY?!? AND HOW BOUT THE STYLIST LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER?!? THERE'S A THOUGHT!!! I didnt want to argue with the stylish since she was about to burst, but if I want to keep my length, it's YOUR job to listen and still make the cut fun. Don't look to me to do WHATEVER you wanna do to me!!!there is nothing edgy bout any of the cuts I have gotten there. I happen to have beautiful hair that is easy to style, as I have been told my numerous people that work in salons, so this should have helped to make things easier. It's horrible to be a girl with a CRAPPY haircut in this city.
Take my advice, if you are on the fence, there is a reason for it. Yes, the French ambience is nice, but far from the REAL THING. I love the French, too! They are usually ON POINT but this is NOT worth your time or money

I WAS GOING TO WRITE A REVIEW ON THIS AWFUL COLOR I GOT AT THIS SALON, I MUST ADD I HAVE BEEN A GOOD CLIENT OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT FOR A WHILE, IT SEEMS I AM NOT ALONE, SOMEONE ELSE ALSO GOT BAD SERVICE FROM THE SAME PERSON, THE LADY WHO WORKED ON MY HAIR IS NATASHA SHE ALL READY HAS A BAD REVIEW, NOT SURPRISED. O WELL THE OWNER SHOULD THINK ABOUT WHO HE GIVES CLIENTS TO. I DON'T PLAN ON RETURNING FOR MORE SERVICES FROM HER OR ANY ONE ELSE.

My regular Stylist is out on maternity so she left word to transfer her clients to this new girl Natasha, I have seen this Natasha lady but only when she gave me my shampoos, I was very nervous but I figured with the hefty price tag how could this go bad, ( this is after all a reputable salon) she cuts my hair and takes quite a long time also looks very nervous, I end up with a very bad hair cut that costs me over 100 dollars. Not only will I not come back to this woman but I will never come back to this salon.

I HAVE NEVER HAD COLOR DONE ON MY HAIR, I TELL THIS ASIAN LADY THAT I WANT MY HAIR LIGHTER, SO SHE PUTS THIS COLOR ALL OVER MY HAIR 30 MINUTES LATER MY HAIR IS ORANGE, SHE TELLS ME THAT SHE HAS TO PUT HIGLIGHTS ON MY HAIR AND THAT IT WILL FIX IT. SHE PUTS BIG CHUNKY PIECES OF BLEACH ALL OVER MY HAIR 30 MINUTES LATER I AM STILL ORANGE . SHE TELLS ME SEE YOU SEE I FIC IT I FIC IT. SHE MEANS SHE HAS FIXED MY HAIR, BUT MY HAIR IS STILL ORANGE. I TELL HER MY HAIR IS STILL ORANGE BUT SHE KEEPS TELLIN ME ITS BEAUTIFUL. MY HAIR IS RUINED.

I walked in and the receptionist was busy on the phone, so I waited and waited, she finally gets off and starts talking in french to a co worker, I was not acknowledged yet so i think ok she is very busy but then she starts screaming to the back of the salon. MIMI MIMI MIMI and walks off. I was on my lunch break waited a few more minutes this skinny guy who keeps staring at me while he works is giving me the creeps. I don't thinks this is for me. o well

It was really disappointing. I had the microdermabrasion done but the esthetician didn't even do my whole face. She was very uninterested and it seemed like I was annoying her by being there. After the microdermabrasion she put a hydrating mask on my face and left the room. She didn't return until my appointment was over. I can't believe I payed for that. I expected a lot more from a place that looked so nice.

This is the place to go if you want amazing service and hair!!!! Everyone is extremely welcoming and friendly. Susan Varner was my colorist and she did an AMAZING job!!! She is super sweet, professional, and friendly. She really cared that I was got what I wanted which is important. I live in College Station and was tired of paying $100 for foil highlights that looked striped and like a zebra so when I learned about Balayage, I knew it was for me. If you want less outgrowth and more uniform look, then Balayage is for you. I will never go back to getting foil highlights ever again.

Though I am brand new to Jacques Dessange, I have a lot of experience as a skin care therapist and have actually been recognized as one of ""the best"" in New York City (waxing) and Denver, CO (facials). I would love for you to come back in and try us again now that I am on board. The spa area of the salon & spa has been recently renovated. The menu has been updated. And though I have only given a couple of facials to new clients, they have all given me rave reviews.
I look forward to meeting you and having you experience the new spa at Jacques Dessange.

I had my facial and all I can say is that I was not impressed. The staff was not welcoming and I did not feel treated as a “new” potential client should be treated, I don't know if this was because I was using a groupon. The front desk staff just reminded me of the rude waiters in Paris. The esthetician was nice but she did not explain anything, she just asked if I have ever had a facial before and of course I had much better facials at other places in the US and in foreign countries so I knew the routine but I would have still liked to know what the process this particular salon was going to use. The room was clean but a little chilly, I was not asked if I was comfortable, I had to ask for a blanket as my feet were freezing. The facial was very short I was in and out of there in less than one hour.
Overall I feel this was not worth my money and time, I will not come back to this place.

I had the most wonderful facial at Jacques Dessange, the spa/salon close to Rice Military. Jaclyn Losie, a new facialist to the Houston area, not only lived up to my friend’s recommendation, but gave me one of the best facials I have ever had. Everything from making the appointment to checking in for the facial was easy. Jaclyn was on time and immediately made me feel relaxed. She was also extremely knowledgeable! She immediately noticed my skin was dehydrated and customized the facial to treat my skin’s conditions. The facial itself was a perfect combination of treatment and relaxation (loved the neck and arm massage – amazing). An hour later, my skin was glowing and three days later my skin still looks amazing.
I have been to three other top facialists this summer and not one of then was able to clear up my face. Jaclyn is truly a gifted esthetician and I can’t wait to see her again! I highly recommend Jaclyn to anyone who is looking for a facialist in the Houston area. I promise you will not be disappointed!

VERY RUDE !!!!! Receptionist was rude and the owner was misleading . Drove an hour to see my normal esthetician whom the salon never told had been replaced . I was informed once I arrived . TOO LATE !!!!!!!! The new esthetician was unprofessional and ill prepared to admininister my needs ; also, very rude and impersonable . Will NEVER go back .

So this is an update to my previous review, which was not a very good experience. I was contacted by Jaclyn, the new esthetician, about my review and experience at Jacques Dessange. She notified me that the person I dealt with is no longer employed there and offered me a free facial if I would come back and give them another try. I was floored! I've never had someone contact me and offer to win me back after a bad review lol. I think this speaks volumes about the kind of person Jaclyn is (she didn't even work there when I went in the first time!, but is still going out of her way to remedy the situation), and also about the spa's concern about their reputation.
She wanted me to come in and see what a good facial feels like, and from the moment I walked in I could tell that she truly cared about my skin concerns and goals. We talked about what kind of products I used, my normal routine, what my skin concerns were. And then she analyzed my skin under a couple fancy tools to see what was going on. She explained everything as she went along and what kind of effects they would have on my skin.
She's someone who seems to genuinely enjoy what she does for a living and it shows. It was nice to feel like the person working on me cared about more than just setting a timer for an hour and doing their thing.
She also told me when I left that if started to notice any kind of adverse reaction to the facial, to let her know immediately and she'd remedy the problem. After 3 days, I started experiencing a little flaky skin. I let her know and she's scheduled me to come back in for a hydrating treatment.
If it wasn't for Jaclyn going out of her way to win back a customer lost by a bad experience, I would never have gone back to this place. But now, not only have I been won over, I've told all my friends about this salon that bent over backwards to right a wrong and they are pretty interested as well.
I got a facial here. It was my first facial ever and the only reason I went was because I had a gift certificate. Upon arrival, the front desk wasn't very friendly, but I've definitely seen worse. The girls were just indifferent. I was told to wait a few minutes. When I got called back, I was seated in a hairstylists chair for a consult and was like 'Uhhh....I'm getting a facial.' Whoever made my appointment messed that up lol. Anyway, so I was told to go sit back up front again. I waited another 10 minutes before getting called back. The lady who did my facial said that I was lucky that she decided to not go out to eat for lunch today, because if she had I would've been waiting up front for a long time. I thought to myself 'Uhhh no. I would've walked out.'
Anyway, although I filled out a little card up front with my skin type I was surprised that she didn't talk to me at ALL about my skin concerns. I don't even think she looked at the card because I handed the card back to the front desk and I never saw it leave there. I felt like I was being treated differently because I had a gift certificate for a discounted service. She seemed to have done a good job, I guess...My skin didn't look or feel any differently the next day so I don't really know what else to say.
In other news, I looked at their prices for regular spa and hair services and WHOA these people are out of their minds. The service was mediocre at best and the facial I received was just 'meh.'
Oh and if you do go, you can't add a tip onto your credit card payment. They only accept cash or checks for a tip.

Matthew is the first and only person to color my hair. I started getting my hair colored one year ago. I always wanted to try it but was so scared that it would ruin my hair. I already had a pretty hair color but I wanted to go a little lighter. A friend recommended Matthew and promised that I would not be disappointed and she was right! Matthew has made me look and feel more beautiful. My husband is grateful!

I was highly referred to Matthew to fix what another stylist had done to my hair. It was orange in some places and bleached white in some places and totally black on the bottom. All I can say is it was a calico mess. I went for a consultation with Matthew and told him what I wanted and he had no problem explaining to me how we could get my hair to the way I wanted. I immediately booked an appointment and after it was all said and done- IT WAS PERFECT!! He is amazing.
Matthew Hewitt has been my hair colorist for a number of years. He has a very special talent, a natural ability, if you will. Mr. Hewitt has vision, and the ability to transform that vision into reality. Not only do I receive numerous compliments on my hair color, I am also asked ""who does your hair?"" which I consider the most sincere form of flattery. In fact, I travel from out of town to see Mr. Hewitt and would follow him anywhere. I have a natural color with depth and highlights that compliment my skin color. Simply stated, Mr. Hewitt is a brilliant and talented hair colorist. I couldn't be more pleased.
Matthew was the second person to highlight my hair, second only to the first person who trained under him. I only trust Matthew for my hair. I call him Dr. Blonde, he heals my roots whenever they start to get sick. And not to mention he makes me laugh the entire time I am with him! He is also the only one I let cut my hair. I have a lot, A LOT of hair (i must be the last appointment of the day in order to get it all done) and he does just what is right for my hair and my style and keeps me entertained as well. I am a bit of a no fuss kind of gal and he takes that into consideration. He highlights underneath for my daily ponytails, knowing full well I will walk out of his salon beautifully coiffed only to put it up the next day. He always tells me what absolutely will not work for my hair and my personality. He allows me to take chances, but takes care of me so I'm not shocked by maintenance or outcome! Dr. Blonde is the best in town!
If you are looking for a colorist you must see Matthew Hewitt at Jacques Dessange. I have been seeing Matthew for 8 years now and I have never walked away feeling less than beautiful. He is a wonderful artist and repeatedly creates color that is eye catching and natural looking. Matthew has been with me and my two sisters through so much including two weddings and he always creates the perfect look.
