What should be expected from your average HEB.

This is probably what I'd consider to be the average HEB, it's neither the best location nor the worst.

This store offers just about everything a grocery store should and more, with a pretty good selection of fresh meats, produce, and seafood along with a nice bakery and deli.

When it comes to their meat selection, most of their cuts are wrapped and placed along the wall or in freezer boxes. There is also a small meat case, offering the store's best cuts of beef, lamb, veal, or whatever else is available. Sometimes they will also carry fresh goat and certified halal chicken is also available. If you cannot find the meat you are looking for, nearby grocers such as Phoenicia will be sure to satisfy your tastes.

In terms of seafood, their selection is not the biggest, but what they do sell here is usually pretty fresh. Previously, I had experienced some troubles with the new people behind the counter; but recently the more experienced workers returned and this has greatly improved the service here.

Their produce market offers a very good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. They carry enough variety to complete most meals and the quality is generally consistent with a few exceptions. The only problems I have found in the produce here are often related to poor handling by the customers and/or bad harvests.

Overall this store has pretty good selection of just about everything you would expect to find in a grocery store. Offering quality products at down to Earth prices and at convenient location on Westheimer, this store should not disappoint most customers.

Dangerous people hang out there.

Dangerous people hang out there and follow you to your car. Even at 8:00 a,m, And run accident in parking lot left me paying $2300. More than one occasion have had bad experiences. Management lets theft happen without doing anything about it. That means YOU pay more. Bad people shop there.

Best HEB in town, without a doubt.

Most HEBs here in Houston are pretty disgusting (unlike Austin), which is why I'm so happy I now live just down the street from this great store. The place is always very clean, and the workers are always very nice. The deli folks are particularly nice, and they don't get mad when I have to tast every cheese to find my favourite, haha. The wine selection is pretty solid, too. I tend to have trouble finding a good bottle of Moscato, but they carry at least 2 different kinds, which is WAY more than I can say for most grocery store wine selections around here. Everyone there is friendly, and I find myself calling at least a couple times a month to tell the store manager about the great employee I just encountered. My only complaint is that they're not open late enough, forcing me to shop at Wal-Mart, which, as some of you may agree, is he|| on earth.
