Although rating a one is too good to be true for this place, I didn't even want to give them that much.

I would first start off by saying that the evening started wonderfully with my entire family attending church, and ended in is being branded criminals by their horrible staff.

There were twenty individuals present at our table. They allowed a new waitress to take all of our orders, without informing us that they would not seperate the tickets at the end. The food was served cold, there were duplicate orders that we were still charged for, and the managers were just like ""oh well."" We were all trying to calculate our separate tabs as well as gratuity with our cell phones and personal calculators while the supervisors and staff watched the Texans game. They were probably the rudest staff i had ever seen.

There two female customers out on the patio french kisses and straddling the pillar outside, and our waitress went and pulled the blinds closed so the children at our table would not see. Let me also say that the blinds are not of solid material, you can still see through them. Do you know what the waitress said, "" oh, they had too many mimosas and laughed it off. I mean, we understand that children can see that on television, but not at a local restaurant. Even if they were intoxicated, that does not justify the customers being allowed to kiss and feel each other and parts of the building up in public.

The waitress refused to separate the tickets so she was just going by the totals we came up with because there was no other way. After we ALL paid for their mediocre food, they came back to the table and state that we had a balance, AFTER EVERYONE PAID.

We were out done. Everyone had their individual ticket, after taking two hours to decide that they would go ahead and separate the tickets. After eating, we were sitting at the restaurant for THREE HOURS trying to calculate our own tickets, then having the waitress deciding to separate the tickets, and putting the wrong values on each one. It was horrlbe. I mean horrible to the eighth power! It was the most horrible event i had ever experienced over separating tickets. I will never go back to this location. Maybe the other locations are okay, but this one is by far the worst.


When we asked for the manager, on two occasions during two different shifts, they basically said that for big parties, they only have one check, which is a bunch of bull crap because the people in back of us had the same amount of people and each one had separate checks.

Oh, and please don't go while the Texans game is on because they will ignore you and treat you like crap. That happened today. The staff were drinking beers, counting their tips, and watching television while we were calculating our tabs and gratuity, something the staff should have been doing. Individually, I paid 62 dollars for my food and I wish that I could get a refund because of how awful they treated us. I am still shocked at how these people were so rude after we spent four hundred dollars totaled in their restaurant. It was just so overwhelming that I had to just cry.

I have never made a complaint about a company before, but the treatment here was just absolutely disgusting. I recommend Papasita's any day over this horrible crappy place. Its horrible! Will never eat here again and neither should anyone else.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Here is a letter I wrote to Corporate :
I have been a VERY satisfied customer of Cyclone's for years at the Gray St. location in Houston, TX. I am always pleased with the food, service and overall positive atmosphere of the restaurant and its employees.
Last night September 4, 2010, my friends and I were celebrating a birthday and wanted to start off with dinner at the Durham location. Some of the group arrived earlier and were seated at the bar. Upon my arrival with about 4 other friends, I immediately noticed that we were not greeted at the door and the bartenders were hesitant is taking some of our orders. One of my girlfriends complained to the bartender that her drink did not taste well and wanted to either add more tequila to the margarita or order a new one. The female bartender replied that we were ""inexperienced drinkers"", implied that we were intoxicated and REFUSED to serve us. Please be advised that none of us had anything to drink before we for there, and also we all are professionals ranging in ages from 25-32. She also continue to check 3 of our group members identifications and even asked for more identification because she thought we were running a ""scam"". It got to a point where the blatant disrespect was so much that we called a manager over and he explained that we shouldn't worry about anything and assured us that we would get served. After talking to both bartenders, they still insisted that we wouldn't get served INCLUDING FOOD.
We tried to explain to management what was happening, and to understand where we were coming from because we were the only African Americans in the restaurant at that time. and they still insisted that we were not going to get served anything. Embarrassed, and disrespected, we walked out of the restaurant. As we were waiting for our car from valet, a waiter came outside apologized for the actions of the management, and the bartenders. He explained that he saw everything that happened and that this was not the first time that the bartenders and management acted in such a disrespectful way. He assured us to try to come back and ask for him as a waiter but were regretfully declined.
As I explained before I have supported Cyclone Anaya's for years and have held many events at the Gray St. location including birthday parties, or just random girls night out. I have been the biggest patron to this establishment and the way the I was treated last night was UNACCEPTABLE to the point where the birthday celebrant was in tears. Thank God that were were able to go another place of business and were treated with up most RESPECT.
I am not asking for any special treatment or favors, just wanted to inform your management team of the events that happened and I pray and hope that never happens to any other customer who intends to enjoy at the Durham location. I was not pleased at all and hope that corporate will take actions to resolve the issue.

Not sure why people like this palce

the bartender was nice and fast.. made a good strong drink for a decent price.. although a Happy Hour would have been nice.. seeing as we were there for Happy Hour after work on a Friday! The food, however, was mediocre and WAY overpriced! My order was wrong.. I took 2 bites and sent it back.. I told the waiter that I didn't care to have the meal replaced as it had taken almost an hour to get it the first time and was content with the chips and salsa.. my meal still showed up on the bill and the waiter got some attitude with me when I brought it up.. or at least I took it as attitude.. I don't speak Spanish. Don't like that valet parking is the ONLY parking either. Have heard good things about this place from friends.. but I have no interest in going back



Watch your credit card receipt

My credit card was double charged.,yes DOUBLED charged as in twice. I didn't notice until i viewed my bank statement online. When I called Cylclone, the manager stated my is was an error with my bank.,I don't think so.,i always save my credit card receipts until I view my account. IF YOU ARE GOING TO EAT HERE, WATCH YOUR CREDIT CARD.

Great Margaritas... try the Grand Gold Frozen

Best place in the city to grab a margarita! The bar is a little small, but on a Saturday afternoon around 3 or 4 just perfect!

Bad food!

I have eaten at the Durham location once before and food and drinks were excellent. My girlfriend and I ate at the midtown location this past Saturday and both ended up with bad food and hugging the toilet all night and all day Sunday. I was very close to going to the hospital! After speaking with a neighbor about what happened, she said that I am the 5th or 6th person she has talked to that has had a bad food experience from Cyclone Anayas Midtown. The place is always busy and food and margaritas seem good at the time but definatley not worth it unless you want to go to the hospital!

Love the queso!

Although it is not the best Mexican food I have ever had, it does the job. The chips and queso are great. You can order almost anything on the menu and not be disappointed. The people-watching can be interesting at peak hours. We also love that they open so early on Sundays for brunch. However, you have to watch out for the enormous amount of cheese in some of the dishes because it can really be overpowering. A small suggestion might be to decrease the portions and the prices. The most disappointing factor is the service. It is very inconsistent, leaning mostly towards below-average for being so slow and forgetful. Overall, the food and bar are good, but the service is disappointing.

where the yuppies go

The food is decent but expensive. The salsa is nice. They seem to use a lot of cream in their good dishes. Trying to dodge the cream, I had some of the worst enchiladas ever last time I was here. The crowd looked affluent but spiritually bankrupt. Maybe that's why the margarita glasses are so big and dot so many tables.

ok lets start by saying i had the worst time of my life everything started at the door with the hostess, rude not even said hi how you doing? when se walked us to the table she walked away not even caring if we were following or not she was a long hair big nose lady she sounded like cuban or colombian very very bad english then she drop the menus and not even said enjoy ur meal and took off , the server was good hes name was manuel and the food was ok not the best but not the worst and then we saw the mannager a fat lady never came by the table she coudnt stop grabing her hair and i notice she grab som food plates without even washing her hands very disgusting she was laud and obnoxious i really dont recomend this place at alllllllllllllll to expensive for the type of service you got , and the restrooms my god in such a bad shape i believe the restrooms from the corner store are better and cleaner never going back
