Cinemark Memorial City

Went to one of the new Extreme Digital showings of Harry Potter. Tickets were $14 each!!! fI figured I would give it a try and my family ae nuts about Potter so we bit the bullet and shelled out the coin. After popcorn and drinks we were talking over a hundred butcks to take a family of five out to the movies... This had better be the best movie ever. I was less than impressed. the extreme digital was no better than standard film. It was much better than standard digital but that is not hard to do. What really upsets me is that we the consumer are really getting scammed here. Digital projection does not require the manufacturing of millions of feet of film to be distributed to each cinema for viewing thus the production/distribution costs to the movie companies and movie houses are significantly lower... As yourself "How much does it cost to download a digital movie to your Iphone?" I realize that the retrofit of the projection/sound equipment costs money but that is chump change to what they are saving by not having to produce film copies. Why aren't these savings being passed down to the consumer? Instead we are actually paying twice as much for what cost the theater a fraction of what it used too... Needles to say, loved potter...Hated being robbed of my hard ewarned money for a picture quality that was margianlly better than standard digital and no better the old school film.

After the way I was treated I will never use this theater again.

You don't sell customers movie tickets then refuse to let them into the theater. I shouldn't matter if my younger sister didn't have her ID on her we already bought the tickets and she was going in with me (I'm 25!). The worst part was the manger had the nerve to not only chew us out when he discovered that she didn't have the id, but to call us back after we were half way to the movie just to remind us that we never would have been aloud in if he hadn't been there. He told me to make sure it never happened again. I can promise you that it won't. I don't care how much cheaper their tickets are I will never go back to that place again!
