John Burns, Deadbeat.

I can't speak to how Burns runs his bail bond business, but he is certanly dishonest. To wit: I entered into an agreement to survey a boat that he intended to buy here in New Jersey, and completed my end of the bargain, sending him a PDF of the report (against my better judgement, but to assist with the deal), and sent Burns an invoice for my work. In the interim, he and the broker had a disagreement over details of the deal

Burns then reneged on the payment for my work. Not to put too fine a point on it, payment to a marine surveyor is not contingent on the purchase of the vessel.

I tried to contact Burns numerous times by telephone, (the latest phone attempt today, 24 Nov 10) letter, and finally a small claims court action. Doing some research on this guy, I find that records show that he lost his license to engage in business, however, continues to operate, I guess under his wife's license, and it is stated that he owes Harris County some 470,000 in judgements against him, if the county records are to be believed. Now, I realize that if he owes that much in judgements, my pitiful small claim will never be paid either. but, in my huimble opinion, this guy is a CROOK, on many levels. So, even though the loss of such a small amount of time and money is no big deal, just wanted to vent, and warn potential clients about this fraud. The only reason I put ANY star on this review, is because it won't be accepted without one. Believe me this guy rates a ""0"" .

John & Chris at Burns Bail Bond have been in business for many years. If they asked for $9,000.00 on a bond, a large part of this amount, I am sure, would have been a security deposit that would have been returned when the person went to court. There must have been a good reason they wanted a security deposit. I have and would use Burns if I need a bond in Houston area. I give them 5 stars.

Worst crooks in the buisness. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE

wHEN MY BROTHER WAS GRANTED A BOND FROM JAIL, IT WAS SET AT $15,00.00. Burns bail bonds told my mom it would cost her $9,500.00 CASH. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE Why would they try to charge us $9,00.00 for a bond that is only $1,500. I am saddend and devestated that a professional buisness would demand so much from someone who only has the best interest at heart for their loved one. THANKS FOR NOTHING
