Black Butterfly Hair Studio

My first visit was MUCH more pleasant than I could have imagined. Bridgette displayed real professionalism from the moment I stepped into the salon. Not only did she welcome me, she did a wonderful job on my hair. I love it and have gotten so many compliments. Thanks Bridg. Be seeing you soon.
I have been a client of Black Butterfly Hair Studio for 4 - 5 years. I have never had a negative experience. The stylists specialize in styling all types of hair as well as healthy hair growth. The shop is clean and the atmosphere is pleasant. I trust these beauticians and will continue to be a faithful client.
I have been a client of Black Butterfly for over four years. My hairdresser is Bridget the owner, she does an outstanding job and uses top quality products! Black Butterfly has a great environment all of the stylist are very professional and friendly. If you are looking for a great atmosphere with quality service, I highly recommend Black Butterfly!
I moved to Katy, TX from Oakland CA in 2006. The first salon I visited in Houston was 45 minutes from my house did my hair so terrible that I went right home and washed it over. For the next month I decided to do my own hair. One day while driving down the street near my home, I noticed a sign for Black Butterfly Salon. I decided to take my chances and walk in to ask questions. When I walked in I was greeted by the owner Bridgette and told her about my prior experience, and she assured me that she could do exactly what I asked of her. It is now 2015, and I am still a faithful client of Bridgette's. I have a chaotic work schedule and she works with my schedule. There have been times that I have had to change my appt at the last minute, and she never complains, she just works me in at a different time. I have never had a bad experience at this salon and definitely not with Bridgette. I have referred many people here, and they continue to be customers as well.
This is the worst place to get your hair done. The owner of the place thinks she is God and you had better not question what she does to your hair. I went in for a consultation for a hair cut and color. I brought a picture with me so there would be no mistake about what I wanted. The owner said that she could cut and style my hair like the picture with no problem. We even picked out a hair color together. I wanted blue streaks.
Anyway, the next day i come back for the service and my hair looks nothing like what I wanted and what she said the day before she could do. I tell her I dont like it, because i cant see any blue highlights and the style is different. She argues with me saying that there are blue highlights but I have to go outside to see them. Needless to say, outside looks the same as inside. No blue. I asked if she could restyle my hair to look more like the picture and she tells me, my hair is like the picture in a very nasty tone. She then says i need to pay her and leave because she had another customer. She then says, Im acting like I dont want to pay her and that she was going to call her personal security!
Yes, she is threatening me because I wanted to discuss changing the work she did.I never once said I wasnt going to pay her, i never raised my voice nor did I leave the building. She was just ticked because i questioned the work done, because she over promised and under delivered. Warning to every woman looking for a stylist. avoid this place. They will tell you anything so you book an appointment, but when its time to delivery you only get excuses on why they didnt come through.
Bridgette is the owner Im speaking, she is very argumentative and she needs to go back to school and learn how to color hair or at the very least not tell customers that she can do something that she doesn't have the skill set to do.Go anywhere but here unless you want the typical 80's bob. This she might be able to do, but then again maybe not!
This is the worst customer service and quality every.
I booked my appointment 2 months in advance for my daughter while she was staying with her dad in Houston. I called and spoke with at least 6 different salons I settled with this Black Butterfly salon after the prices I was quoted, location and reading a few reviews.
I had booked my daughter to get her hair braided 3 Saturday's in a row. When I made this appointment I clarified exactly what my daughter's hair type was and exactly what I needed done to her hair. I never under estimate her hair- as she does have lots of hair. The owner lady quoted my a price... it was somewhat comparable to prices I pay to salons in my location.
Once I booked the appointments I called to confirm the dates and time. It took 3 calls for anyone to call me back. I was starting to think I need to move her to another salon. When the lady finally called me back I found out she booked the appointments all on the wrong days and times. We were able to get everything situated and back on schedule..
My daughter makes it to her 1st appointment to find out she was given to another hair stylist Ashley. Ashley had to "squeeze" me in, she was running late due to personal issues she had experienced that morning. She asked my daughter to come back an 1 hour and 45 minutes later. Ashley had lied and told me the salon did not have my phone number- even though my phone number was given at the time of the appointments and the follow up confirmation calls. Regardless I did not receive a call asking to move our appointment.
When my daughter finally makes it in the chair and started braiding her hair she gave a different price, over double the price. Note, prior to the appointment I did speak to the owner and gave full and exact description of what I needed done. I had continued business with this salon 2 more weekends after this. I would of been happy to pay the cost the next 2 appointments if they had at least honored the cost while my daughter was in the chair. I tried to discuss with the owner lady, who I made the appointment with initially. She was VERY rude, acted like I was bothering her and hung up on me while I was talking. I tried to work through the situation very calmly but when the owner and her employees are disrespectful to customers, it was time for my daughter to get up and leave. I asked for my daughter to leave and while she was waiting for her dad to pick her up Ashley continued to bad talk me to my daughter. For a first time guest and never met these ladies I find that very disrespectful and unprofessional. Completely unacceptable!!!
This salon is very unorganized, very unprofessional. The fact they spoke to my daughter about me, well that is never a good thing. Some may say it could be a racist situation.
I get my own hair done every 3 weeks in my local town as well in bigger cities such as Dallas, LA, Memphis and I have NEVER experienced such horrible and unprofessional customer service.
I will continue to share my experience with everyone, as long as I can in regards to this salon.
