WE ALMOST LOST OUR FUR BABY JEWEL!!! The intake technician that wears sunglasses inside told us-We do this several times a day, they will be fine. We recommend getting an E-collar for your male. I asked-What about Jewel, does she need one? Tech-No ma’am only males, they usually reach their incision sites &causes infection. Females can’t reach their incisions. Almost a week after her surgery was terrifying since we were told she didn't need an E-collar! Jewel's incision busted &her entire intestinal tract hung from her body! She was strong &fought while we rushed her to the ER. The lead vet said she chewed off a piece of her small intestines thinking she was giving birth! They said this could’ve been prevented. Would’ve LOOKED horrible but wouldn’t have been anywhere near as bad with the collar! The Vets informed us any sex, any surgery, they ALWAYS require an E-collar. I contacted BARC-Board member Ms. Amneris Diaz. She knew which tech said it, hopes our dog is still alive &that we did whatever it took to save her. OF COURSE, but we don’t have funds like this! CareCredit gave an increase -cost climbed over $5,000. Diaz kept stating she was sorry but can't pay since we didn’t bring her back to BARC..REALLY!? You accept fault, but we didn’t risk her life, so you can’t pay? Diaz-Unfortunately our funds are only for the animals here. If we had to pay for every complaint or animals getting sick post treatment, we’d have to set aside millions & chuckled. There’s no way we could do that! I'm glad to hear that CareCredit worked out but our funds are needed here, especially since we do hundreds of these surgeries in a day.” Lost for words – this made me feel like many others have complained &received no luck. What about others? What if they didn’t make it? Should they really be doing mass surgeries like this!? HOW DARE THESE PEOPLE TRY TO EDUCATE OTHERS. Be aware/help spread the word that this is NOT acceptable! Absolutely NO ONE should have to go through this horror!
BARC trespassed onto my property when the gate and fence were closed, stole my puppy from the front yard and left a note reading that if I wanted my puppy back then I would have to call BARC. I called and not one clerk answered the many calls. I left numerous messages with my name and phone number - no one returned my calls. The Supervisor admitted to trespassing but charged me $120.00. I began to write a check for $120.00 and the Supervisor stopped me when he saw me take out my pen. BARC Manager sold my puppy earlier that day. I called the Houston Police. They said that BARC legally in agreement with The City of Houston can go onto citizens' yards and steal animals to generate revenue for the City of Houston. Suzanne Hollifield of The Houston Police Department lies in Offense Reports so that innocent people will be fined in order to generate profit for the Police Department and City of Houston. BARC along with The City of Houston committed a Crime of Moral Turpitude.
My sister-in-law transported a dog for this company. They did not share with her the fact that this dog had a history of attacking people, or the fact that it was an owner - surrender for this very reason. The dog attacked her very severely. 27 bites (some to the bone) and $15,000 in medical bills later, and they have yet to even offer an apology. One of her kids could have just as easily been the victim, and I don't know how they would have survived this. I am saddened that they are not even offering an apology. Shame on you BARC. You are a pathetic excuse of a company. It is your responsibility to make sure these pets are safe before simply turning them over to people. This woman will wear this scar, both emotional and physical - for the rest of her life due to your careless behavior.
