I made a big mistake by choosing Dr. Dinh as my dentist. I went to her office for a root canal and then a crown buildup. It started hurting after a couple of years. The specialist told me that it's infected and the crown is also getting loose. I had to redo it. What a waste!

I hate to say it, because I like Dr. Dinh and her hygienist and receptionist a lot, but I just don't think they are that great. I think that she is most likely good for routine stuff like cleanings and fillings, but I doubt she is good enough to be doing more complicated things like root canals and whatever else has been mentioned on previous reviews.
I found her office because she is one of the few dentists that accepted whatever dental insurance that Rice U was offering a few years ago when I was going to school there. She did my root canal and took care of a couple cavities a few years ago.
Suffice it to say, even though I live/work a couple blocks from her office I did not go back to her place after I graduated (had did not have dental insurance). Even in the past year and a half that I did not have a car, I just didn't go to a dentist....It wasn't anything in specific, it was just that I felt there must be better dentists out there.
In the end, I finally went to another dentist a week ago. For what its worth, he said was that her fillings were well done. As for the root canal, apparently I got a failed root canal and I'm seeing a specialist....

I regretted so much that I had trusted Dr. Dinh to fix my teeth problems. My specialist told me I need to redo the crowns for which I paid a lot to Dr. Dinh. One issue is that the size of a crown may not be appropriate since it does not cover enough of the bottom. Another issue is that there are too much spaces between the crowns and the teeth next to them (of course, only dentists can tell that). The speicialist said this can easily cause decays inside crowns. What a waste for me using her service!

I've gone to Dr. Dinh for several months now. Since the first visit, her and her staff have been nothing but nice to me. I had not visited a dentist in a much longer time than I'd like to admit, but she didn't give me a guilt trip like other dentists in the past have done to me.Like someone else said on here, she doesn't use sedation, but she has always been more than willing to numb up the work area when I've gone in. She's been willing to answer any questions I have, as has her staff. Dinh has also recommended me to two different periodontists about more involved procedures when she thought them to be necessary. I keep going back because of the friendliness of everyone in the office, and, if the Texas heat wouldn't kill me, within walking distance of my apartment.

Angie worked very hard on trying to restore a tooth for the third time. She did the best any dentist could do. This was one of those moments when a tooth has come to its end and only a miracle might have saved it. I thank her also for her honesty and guidance.

I should have double questioned those 5-star online reviews of Ms. Dinh before I went to her place. Her staff is professional, the office is clean, and the equipment is not bad. Other than that, I didn't find anything else to appreciate for. She charged me for each fill-in even though my insurance policy had 100% coverage. For whatever reason, the fill-ins made some of my teeth worse. One of them cracked later on. If I had paid more attention to her negative reviews, my teeth would be a lot happier now.
