YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

Cielo Mexican Bistro
hawaianlion1 rated
Best mexican restaurant in Houston!!!

Our latest dining experience could be classified as excellent from start to finish. We had mojitos and sangria ($2.50 during happy hour) at the bar, and ordered a tostada de ceviche. The mojitos were excellent, the sangria fresh and fruity, and the ceviche was tasty and tangy, just the right starter for the evening. Our bartender was... attentive and provided great service even though there wasn't a single empty seat at the bar. An auspicious start to what turned out to be a wonderful culinary journey. We were seated promptly when our party members arrived and started our meal with one of the entrees. The pork ribs, were abundant (it looked like an entire rack of ribs), flavorful, tender, meaty, and finger licking good . We polished it off with gusto, looking forward to what lay ahead. Our entrees soon arrived looking very artful in their presentation with mounds of rice shaped like pyramids. The Jalapeno Glazed Salmon over White rice was the best dish of the night - the seasoning and the marriage of flavors are brilliant, winning combination. The spinach and sweet potato enchelada was also very good. The desserts were also a revelation - the flan (I ordered it with the sauce on the side) , light and airy and so-so good. The meal came out to about $35 per couple before tip. Considering we all had cocktails and 3 courses (shared the appetizers and desserts) this was an excellent value for the quality of the food we sampled. The food IS worth what you pay. And I could not ask for better service of waitstaff that obviously take pride in their restaurant. People know good food, and if the crowd tonight was anything to go by (the entire restaurant was packed to the hilt on a Friday night), they know they will find it at Cielo Mexican Bistro. I certainly did.

Santa Fe Flats
cartorr rated
Santa Fe Flats is New mexico food at its best

This is a truly fine restaurant. The service is excellent, the decor is fabulous, the prices are reasonable and best of all the food is true New Mexico food at its very best. We absolutely love this place. The enchiladas are stacked rather than rolled, in true New Mexico style. The peppers used in the red and green chili sauces are New Mexico raised. I grew up in New Mexico and this food is in my blood. My wife on the other hand is from New England. She had her first exposure to this food in Albuquerque when she attended the University of New Mexico. She's now as ardent a fan as I am and has become a pretty good cook of New Mexico food in her own right. She too is crazy about Santa Fe flats. We don't drink but many of the restaurants other customers each time we visit are enjoying the house margaritas served in large beer mugs. When the weather is decent, the kids play outside in a sandbox while we dine in an adjacent covered ramada. Live music is provided outside several times a week. We've been coming here now for over three years and the same waitstaff has been here the whole time. The proprietors, whose roots are in New Mexico, have done a fabulous job in bringing New Mexico's finest food to Houston.

Mexican Food Heaven!!

I don't know where to start. This place, all three locations, has the greatest food. As in I have the phone numbers on speed dial and I also carry their to-go menus in my car good. I absolutely love the Guadalajara sampler. The chicken enchiladas are to die for. The chips n salsa is spectacular!! Everything tastes fresh and well seasoned. Even the ribs and one might ask why you have ribs at a Mexican restaurant. Well because you can and because it's hard to pass up. I have yet to try anything that I didn't like. Even my dad loved the place and he's very very picky. No other place could touch the beloved Mexicantessen, which use to be located in the studewood area. But I think he has crossed over. This location is my favorite, the other is located in near The Woodlands. Plus, they have great service. That makes a BIG difference. The staff seems to be trained very well and most importantly, they keep the place clean. I also like that there's always running hot water in the restrooms. For some reason you don't always get that with other like restaurants. But check it out. You won't be sorry.

Cyclone Anaya Midtown
houstoncritique rated
Food = F Drinks = A- DOWNLOW guys new midtown pickup spot.

Although the midtown location is a good location pre / post club scene hours, this joint is just another place with HORRIBLE FOOD, fair drinks and lots of DL (downlow) guys. Nothing against the gay or bisexual crowd but they pack Cyclones in midtown and sit at the bar / tables for hours hoping to make a connection. Notice everyone drinks more than they eat???? This is because the food is below average for Tex Mex food but if you get enough drinks in you the taste of the food won't matter. The staff is less than friendly and 1/2 the wait staff are gay / bisexual so they cater to their kind. The naive young ladies that come in half naked hoping to catch a man are either ignorant, dumb or just desperate. I have sat at the bar and watch (and heard) guys hook up and even make "several" trips to the restroom. But maybe it was the margaritas pressing against their bladder..lol Anyway if you want good eye can of DL guys of all races, Cyclones is the place to go. If you want good food, DO NOT EAT HERE.,you will be on the toilet for hours.

I've been eating here for abou...

I've been eating here for about 20 years now. I once managed the Superior Waterbeds (early 90's) that was about a block away on I-45. That's when I got adicted. Their salsa is unique and the best I've ever had by far. It's got bite, not the mild tomato based bland sauce of so many copycat Tex-Mex places. I have a favorite here that is also not just the same ol' stuff you always see on the menu everywhere. Try the beef tip burrito dinner. It's to die for, expecially drenched in their salsa. The rice and refried beans served with it are nothing special. If they ever add barracho bean soup or some spicy black beans with pico or something as special as the main entree and salsa this will be the best meal on the planet! The location is nothing to brag about. It's not fancy or elegant. It's way out of my way to go there and the atmosphere is somewhere just above a fast food joint. But don't let that keep you from trying this incredible dining experience. It is truely something special in a world of ordinary.

Ate there over 4th. Laid my cell phone on corner of table. Turned around to get glasses .Turned back, waiter was there. Picked up menus and left. Phone was gone.Waiter swore he didn't see it. Manager swore he didn't see it on video. Used phone tracker. Called back manager laughed. Told him I would call police if they didn't come up with it. Four days later, received a call saying they had found it in menu bin. That I must have closed the menu on it! Tell me how you can pick up a menu with a cell in it and not know something is there just from the weight? Also how would you carry a menu with a cell without it falling out unless you were intentionally balancing it? Then how would you dump it in a bin without hearing it clunk?! Folk, they have a nice scan going on. Waiter steals something then manager swears the video shows nothing. I say they are liars and thieves. Food is pretty good, but don't trust them to not steal from you.

Las Ventanas
alainharvey rated

Las Ventanas restaurant and cantina's serves as a portal for Mexico's culinary world and demonstrates rightly why it is one of the world's great cuisines. The proprietor, Alejandro Sneider, family has been serving authentic Mexican food in Houston for more than 35 years. Las Ventanas’ interior radiates sun-baked colors, the ambience is cozy and friendly, and the decor reflects Mexico’s colorful and vibrant culture. The tree- covered and gorgeously landscape patio is the perfect place to unwind. Executive chef Jose Hernandez creates the bold flavors using fresh ingredients that distinguish Mexican cuisine. Brilliant sauces showcase the remarkably diverse flavors gracing the authentic, traditional dishes. Indulge your palate with delicious recipes while sipping on an ice-cold margarita. Las Ventanas is also a family haven - you and your children will be enchanted by the patio and the no-mess kid zone.

First of all, this was my first time there with my girlfriend. We walked in the front door and the place smelled like vomit, it smelled like that at our table too. We tried ignoring it and ordered our food. The waitress took my girlfriend's order and walked off and didn't take my order. We called her as she turned away to take my order (we were sitting at the same table) We got our food and it was unlike anything I have ever seen. I ordered a barbacoa taco and a carne guisada taco. The carne guisada had potatoes in it and the barbacoa was sliced (not shredded like everywhere else). It didn't taste good either. If you are used to Tex-Mex food, this place is not for you. This was straight up MEXICAN food. Pros: homemade flour tortillas, good coffee, chips and salsa was good, low price Cons: strong vomit smell, the food, the waitresses

I have been a life long customer, and it kills me to post this negative review. Carlos' has gone down hill. I have been over ten times in six months, and every time I go the restaurant is totally empty. The food is amazing and the price is great(if you can get that price) On my past two visits, the waitress has changed my order to make the bill more expensive. I let it slide the first time, but the 2nd time was enough. The manager was so clueless to business and failed to care that my receipt did not match what I got. I am never going back and would like everyone else to be very aware of your order. I recommend the restaurant for its food, but not for the customer service and waiting staff. Recommended meal: The Don Lupe - $8.55 (I urge you to watch your ticket if you choose to go after reading this)

the waitress asked me if everything was alright as she was walking pass me without making eye contact. Just as well cause I would have been tempted to tell her that I wanted Mex-Tex Enchiladas but why this Meat wrapped in a White Flour tortilla with chili con queso cheese spread over themn and what may have been Canned chili con carne.on top? I commented to who appeared to be the Manager at the cash register. He told me there are different Enchildas but seemed sure of himself that I was served the "Mex-Tex". I grew up in Houston eating some very fine Tex-Mex enchiladas at El Fenix, El Felix, El Patio, Monterrey House and today know of some restaurants that make very good ones. Why even Pancho's (Mexican Buffett) knows which one is the Mex-Tex. So make sure to ask before ordering.
