Below is an email conversation between Dr. Allan Panzer and myself. Dear Dr. Panzer, I pleasurably give you my heart filled thanks for your "on the money" advise and recommendations concerning my decision of LASIK surgery. Obviously your plates full juggling Optometrist practice, expertise in court cases and various travel helping patient's in need. I feel quite honored and appreciative that a gentleman of such exquisite character scheduled time to provide professional but critical advise to me, someone you don't know and never met. Your actions and willingness to help sheds light on the true reason your a Physician, to help people, regardless of monetary gain or public gratitude. Taking your advise and armed with this email of your recommendations, enabled me to locate an Optometrist. His advise mimicked yours to a tee, he said, "with all of your previous issues, you should run not walk from any unnecessary surgery, including LASIK." Sound familiar? It should, you suggested the same, so, eyeglasses and contacts are my only option. Please understand the reason I contacted you, I have an advanced education but, my feeling of apprehension and unease were triggered when three Ophthalmologist assured LASIK was the answer. I truly don't want you to think I was a waste of your time. Doctor, your professionalism is astounding, your open arm policy is refreshing and your attitude is to the point. The Physicians oath you were required to take upon receiving your license to practice, I can honestly say, you walk the walk, not talk the talk. Thank you so much Doctor Panzer for everything. I guess there's no reason for me to call or schedule an appointment, your opinion was the key, I needed someone to trust, and that was you. We thank you again. Regards, S D Johnson Consulting Editor
I had cataract treatment for both of my eyes. First my right eye was treated and the lens was replaced. The next day my distance vision was measured at 20/30. Four weeks later I had the same treatment on my left eye and the distance vision on this eye measured at 20/20 the next day. A few weeks …
I called to set up an appointment and the first person put me on hold and transfered me without my knowledge, the second woman I spoke with was ok at first and when I tried to tell her what my insurance was, got snippy with me, put me on hold before I finished my sentence and left me on hold fo…
Oh my gosh! What a horrible experience I had going to this office. When making the appointment I had advised I start work at 9:30am and made my appointment for 8 am. Was advised Dr. Urso may be running behing but should give him plently of time to examine me. 1. Then I arrived at 7:50 am bu…
On Friday,May 11, 2012, while visiting my sister in Houston, I experienced severe NSAIDS adverse effects of excruciating abdominal pain and spams; continuous projectile vomiting, dehydration, and blood pressure of 164/114. Within less than five minutes, Pam, the RN on duty, escorted me into an examination room and in the epitome of compassion, empathy, and professionalism, immediately performed a very thorough assessment of my vitals signs; detailed and extensive inquiry pertaining to my current pain, and relevant medical history . Three minutes later, Dr. Mark IM, (ER MD on that day) assessed and evaluated my excruciating abdominal pain and promptly rendered appropriate medical treatment which consisted of: IV fluids,(for dehydration due to excessive projectile vominiting); Lab work (for purpose of obtaining baseline of my electrolytes); and IV medications for abdominal distress, spams, vomiting. I arrived at Sacred Heart 24 Hour Emergency Center at 9:30AM and by 11:30AM was home, resting quietly. In addition, Dr. IM referred me to a GI specialist. I was a RN for 23 years and worked many speciality units, including ER. I am blatantly honest to proclaim that all Emergency Centers, ER, and Urgent Care Centers MUST AT LEAST ATTEMPT TO ACHIEVE THE OUTSTANDING LEVEL of PROFESSIONALISM, INCLUSIVE of RENDERING EMPATHETIC and COMPASSIONATE CARE to ALL THEIR PATIENTS. Therefore, it would behoove other Emergency Centers in Houston to model Sacred Heart 24 Hour Emergency Center. Lucila Leal, School Psychologist
Ok went to this place for the first time, mainly because it is a network provider for my insurance and second because it close by. I had my eye exam (got very good service at eye doctor next door, no problems there) well I took my prescription to visionworks. I ordered 6 months of contacts because I planned to get the other 6 months online, had to purchase some at this place in order for my insurance to cover eye exam. The price was ridicoulous and I ended up paying alot more than I expected. well I never received a call telling me they were in, so I went down 10 days later to check on them. When I got them, they were not what I expected. I received 3 boxes, 2 for one eye, and 1 box for the other, very odd, and they were larger boxes, thus the reason for the almost a hundred dollar a box price. And best of all, the one box I got for one eye was the wrong prescription by -100, was supposed to be -250, but I received -350. Not sure what to do since returning the one box that was wrong would probably mess up my insurance or confuse them even more (There were 3 people standing around doing nothing when I got them ), so i'm just going to use the two boxes for both eyes and donate the wrong box. Next year I will be going back to my original optical, Sears
I've been going to Berkeley for over 10 years; this year was the first year that I experienced difficulty in getting my glasses. I had gone 4 different times to pick up glasses that I was told was "in" not to have glasses there at all. It's an understatement to say I was upset. By the 4th time I requested a refund which I was granted. A few weeks later I get a call from Oscar to come pick up the glasses and Maria S. who told me my glasses were not only 'in' but she would mail or deliver them wherever I wanted. I was shocked because I thought this process was over after I got the refund. Maria was proactive in seeing it through. She had my glasses made by Berkeley not by my Provider because of the professionalism and SEE IT THROUGH attitude she exhibits. She delivered them today to my office; they fit perfectly and I'm a 'again' happy satisfied customer. She stopped me from going elsewhere next year and gave me faith that great customer service still exists. Way to Go Maria S! You went over and beyond and I appreciate you. You're a lifer.
I trust Gail Wells and the staff at Wells Walk in Clinic to take care of myself, my wife and our 2 sons. When it comes to my 2 boys, I am fanatical that they get the very best of everything. Gail Wells treats my sons as if they were her own children. She listens carefully to everthing they have to say. My previous doctor seemed disinterested when my sons spoke and would direct all the questions to me. My sons are 7 & 9, they are the ones that are sick, they know what feels wrong to them and know how to tell someone about it. My kids used to dread the doctor, now when I say "Let's go see Ms. Wells", they instantly want to go because they know she will make them feel better. Last thing I think is important to mention is that the Wells Walk in Clinic is a Super Bargain! A follow up visit is $25, I think. You also don't need an appointment, so when I don't feel well I just drive there immediately and don't have to worry about getting hit with a giant bill.
We moved to Houston three years ago, and I got sick right after we got here. I was looking for an affordable place mostly because I had no health insurance at the time. I was very surprised by the quality of care I received during my first visit; although we have health insurance now, we still go to Clinica Corazon Hispan because they don't try to do unnecessary tests just to get money out of you. They take care of you fast, and in a very friendly manner.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY OR HOW TO START. THERE IS NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW BLESSED I AM TO HAVE FOUND A DOCTOR LIKE FARHINA. SHE LISTENS TO ALL OF MY CONCERNS. I HAD SURGERY WITH HER AND I KNEW THAT EVERYTHING WAS GOING TO BE GREAT. SHE IS KIND, FRIENDLY, AND ALWAYS AVAILABLE. I LOST TRACK OF HER BECAUSE I CHANGED JOBS AND INSURANCE AND THROUGHOUT THE YEARS, I WONDER IF I WOULD EVER FIND A DOCTOR LIKE HER. I WENT WITHOUT SEEING A OB/GYN FOR ABOUT FOUR YEARS. NOW THAT I HAVE FOUND HER I CAN'T STOP THANKING GOD THAT I FOUND HER AGAIN. ALL OF MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS HAVE HEARD OF HER CAUSE I CAN'T STOP TALKING ABOUT HER. I WANT THEM TO HAVE A DOCTOR THAT TAKES THE TIME TO LISTEN AND UNDERSTANDS THEIR NEEDS AND CONCERNS. I WANT THEM TO FEEL SECURE WITH AND UNDERSTOOD WITH THEIR DOCTORS AND THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I FEEL IN THE HANDS OF IMTIAZ FARHINA.. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR KINDNESS, GENTLE HANDS AND SOFT PATIENT VOICE.
I took my whole family here to have our annual eye exams done and I am beyond impressed! Dr. Moses also did high tech testing on me in particular and until then I had no idea Im in a danger zone for glaucoma. No eye doctor has ever offered me this service before. Also, I was very impressed with the vast variety of frames he has for eyeglasses. My children were able to pick their own personal style and werent forced to chose between 2 or 3 choices. I also loved how patient and professional his staff was. It took me about 30 minutes to get my contact lense in and they were very patient and offered me different tips and tricks to get it right. I will only come to see Dr. Moses at Texas Eye Center and bring my family along as well. Dr. Moses is very thorough, and listens and explains every detail of the exam. Great customer service, variety of designer frames, and excellent staff!!!!!
I went to this doctor for a well women's exam October 2015 and they charged me a deductible I wasn't supposed to pay so I got a refund. The doctor was nice and informative. The only reason why I give 2 stars. I called her office January 2016 for a birth control prescription, I couldn't get it for some reason and had to go back to see her and pay additional money just to talk to her. At my appointment she got pulled into a surgery so they offered another doctor who could see me, who was nice & informative as well. Yet when I get my insurance claim they charge me for a women's exam that I only get free once a year. The doctor simply talked to me and I got charged for an exam through my insurance I never had. The reason why I give 2 stars is because they have gotten my paper work wrong twice now and when I have requested a call back I didn't get one for 3 days.
After being laid off last Fall, I COBRA'd my FSA account. In December. I went to the optical shop at the Weslayan location to buy Rx eyeglasses and sunglasses with my FSA monies. Oscar was extremely patient and helpful on both occasions I was there: first, to pick out frames and learn the costs involved, and second, the day I ordered multiple pairs, for all of which I needed certain tints, coatings, etc. Ordering was a time-consuming process, but we both wanted each pair to be exactly right. And they are! I picked up my new glasses today, and I am pleased beyond words. All is as expected. Thank you, Oscar, for GREAT customer service and for your patience, the lens tint suggestions you made, and for assuring that everything was perfect before I came to pickup my glasses. Great job!
