After hurricane Harvey, the restaurant is now located on Fulton Street in North Houston, not on Richmond. The food here is delicious! The best fried chicken I ever had. The whole team was friendly. Two of the cast of the show was there Charles and Bruce they were kind enough to stop and take pictures with us. The service was great, the atmosphere was great. They were very busy, we had to stand in line a little longer, but it's worth the wait.
2. Pappy's Cafe
Our favorite place in the whole, wide world! It doesn't matter what you are in the mood for because you can find something to fit your needs at Pappy's. It is our 'go-to' place for eating out. They have fabulous spinach/artichoke, nachos, scorpian tails, salads, chicken tenders, chicken friend s…
I have been to Beavers 2 times so far (after a referral from a friend) and am afraid that I have discovered my new addiction; Bloody Mary's. The first time we went was on a Saturday and ended up ordering their original Bloody Mary, which was phenomenal... Then we went back on a Sunday and surpri…
I daydream about the wonderful jambalaya I used to order at lunch when I worked downtown in the 80's. Go for ""The Full Boat"" as the large order of J was called. Be generous with the napkins as I ruined more than one shirt and tie with the spicy sauce! Too bad they don't have suburban locatio…
I've been a fan of Frenchy's chicken for sometime now and they still have that delicious recipe flavor. Their chicken is better than other fast food chicken restaurant, yes it's pricey, but I love the taste.
Food was wonderful. See below about everything else.Walked into restaurant after reading about across the internet at several sites. I was under the impression that everything was great about it. Sadly I was wrong. The restaurant had two sided menus on plain laser printed paper, however, only on…
17. House of Blues
Very nice people, great place to watch a show. Recommend you try and find balcony seats so you don't have to stand the whole show. Great view, there's a bar there, and you can enjoy the show sitting. Foundation Room has pretty decent food.
I've eaten at every location multiple times and always had a good experience and had leftovers to take home. Main restaurant I miss in Houston since I'm no longer there. I look forward to visiting so I can get my fix.

This is the place on the North side to go for fresh delicious old fashioned like your mom and grand mothers cooked. Also they give you large portions and its pipping hot. Ms. Helen's German-chocolate and her homemade pound cake is so good I eat it slow because I hate when its all gone. On Sun…
I've been waiting for this place to open so I could try it. We went there for lunch today and I was impressed. I like the fact that everything was made to order, so it was fresh. Nice staff, very clean restaurant! I will go back very soon!!
Food is exceptional, staff is very pleasant, no long wait for food.
Omg, those golden delicious season greens was a big hit on my visit Oct. 8, 2017, along with my order with catfish.. My hubby knows I am a huge fan of mom. The staff was helpful and friendly. We look forward dining our family as they visit through out the year.. Our family to yours,, Hi, to Charles who I spoke Hey there, bless success.. indeed!!
Very pleased from the time we entered restaurant we were made to feel at home. We ordered the fried and smothered chicken dishes along with macaroni and cheese and dirty rice and the sweet yams to name a few and enjoyed every bit of it. This place is exactly what Houston needed! Authentic finger licking " in my soul" food. Many blessings and hopefully this place will continue to hit on all cylinders cause this will be our goto for home-cooking spot. Also thanks to all the crew And a special shout out to the manager Big Bruce for taking timeout to take a pic with family as this was my sister-in-law's last night in town.
The BEST Soul Food I've ever tasted. Service was good too, which is very important to me when i go out.
Great atmosphere and delicious food. I had a hamburger and it was great. I will def be coming back here soon!
Soul food has never been my cup of tea. Found this establishment online and was intrigued by the menu, so I gave this restaurant a shot. Let me start by saying, the Food was Amazing! I ordered the fried chicken, macaroni, and greens with cornbread. I can't go without mentioning, the service was excellent, very friendly environment. The servers were very polite and attentive. May not be somewhere that i would frequent, but it was worth every penny, and I would recommend visiting this restaurant if you're in the area.
Food very over rated, Greens taste like can greens, the Cornbread was only 1/4 of a square, when I asked for a larger piece, was told it would cost more. Chicken was cooked too fast, flavor was ok. Mac & Cheese very good, sweet Tea was too sweet, Peach Cobbler, so sweet, and very dry, could not taste peaches at all. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Originally, I was excited to go, thinking the good would be like what I've seen, and heard it was, when I watched it on the Opra channel. I was very disappointed. Me Robbie need to train/re-train the cooks, or this place will go down in a short period of time !!
Food was good. Getting in and getting signed in was quite a wait. Once we were seated... it took a while for the waitress to come, but once she came and we let her know we were hungry and in bit of a hurry our food came out surprisingly fast!! I would recommend. Just work on getting people in and seated faster.
Not your average soul food joint! Stopped in here last weekend and was amazed. I am originally from St. Louis, where my friends and I used to frequent their original restaurant, and the food was awesome as always. It's hard to come by a quality soul food restaurant that actually gives you what you paid for. I came in here and was amazed. The seafood boil was nothing short of EXCELLENT with lots of choices, and I saw that there new newer items added to the menu. I'll be stopping in next weekend to try the shrimp and grits.
