This is by far one of my favorite places to eat! It is not unusual to walk into a packed house on a workday afternoon. The store has an orange and white roof, which should help you find it. If I thought my heart could handle it,I would eat here daily! It is the perfect combination of melty cheese, piping hot meat, and golden grilled onions! Or you can go for authentic and get a Philly with cheese-wiz. The bread they use is specially ordered and shipped to them. It has a nice crust on the outside and is soft and delicious on the inside! Their fries are always hot and perfect! They have a light batter on the outside and just look great, and are perfectly seasoned. They have chicken sandwiches and burgers too, but the owner says that 90% of their sales are a form of their FAMOUS Philly! Free refills on the fountain drink machine! Always a good thing! Price point is about $10-$11 to make your taste buds smile. It is totally worth in every now and then (or weekly if you are like me and love a good Philly Cheesesteak. I consider myself to be a bit of a Philly connoisseur, and this place has the BEST I HAVE EVER EATEN!
This place is awesome. It's in a big barn, seat yourself at picnic tables. Music blaring. Five minutes after you sit down you have a plate of crawfish, shrimp, and crab legs sitting in front of you. For once the Internet did not lie!
I visit this joes at least every week for lunch and is a regular here but after my last visit i would never be back because of the Gm there his name is rust and he is very rule and dosent care about the customers needs and the ones that offen come back and spend money at least twice a week somet…
13. Joe's Crab Shack
I took my Daughter to Joes for her birthday. It was the first time for me at this location, usually we go to the one one on the Gulf Freeway. The service was great, they were more lively than were use to. It seems they enjoy to dance and try to get everyone involved. The birthday skit they did f…
14. Joe's Crab Shack
Good food, but a very long wait! They have a play ground for the kids while you wait but it is very crowded and easy for the children to get injured. The service is not very promt but the fun atmosphere is entertaining.
17. Joe's Crab Shack
Good food, big portions. Great service. Be aware NO prices on drink menu. A mason jar margarita is $9 & while good is mostly ice. For that reason I'm only giving 4 stars. Shame on them for not revealing prices & then loading drink with ice!!!
18. Joe's Crab Shack
I have never enjoyed a dinner more than I had here. The waiter was very helpful and did his job very well we waited on nothing and our order was perfect. I felt we under paid for our service and our meal.
We literally just left the restaurant and had to write a review immediately. It was fantastic! Without a doubt the best Churrascaria in Houston. From the minute you walk in the door it is as if you are royalty and the waitstaff's sole job is to make certain that you have the absolute best dining experience possible. They do not disappoint. Of course that is just the service, how is the food? In a word Magnificent! The meat, of all varieties, is incredibly flavorful, tender and delightfully decadent. The endless waves of meat coming forth from the incredibly attentive waitstaff would have made this as wonderful a dining experience as possible, but then the dessert bar... Everything is brought to you from salad, to side dishes, to entrees, but the dessert bar has an entire area all of its own. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for any occasion, it is not only the best Churrascaria in Houston but also the least expensive. Not only do you get marvelous service, fantastic food but also a fantastic atmosphere. If you are in the area, and by area .... I would drive fifty miles for a meal here... do not miss it.
I am a Rice University Professor. Recently I held a meeting on the Rice campus consisting of about 25 people from all over the country and a good representation from Southern California. We went to Pico's in a small bus for dinner. You served us Parilla Mixta family style. The food, was excellent and fairly priced. The service was excellent and there was a a good atmosphere. I found it interesting that the California visitors who are so proud of their California Mexican food, stated that they were truly surprised that they had to come to Houston for the best Mexican food they had ever had. Thank you for adding to the success of my conference. Last month Pico's catered a gathering of family and friends at my house where we were celebrating my wife's and my Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary. We had about 120 people present from all over the country and some from other countries. You food was the hit of the day. It was excellent.Your delivered the food and took care of every detail. We just served. It was a pleasure working with such competent and professional people. We will do this again. Thank you Pico's.
In an area full of bland seafood restaurants (Joe's Crab Shack and Red Lobster), its nice to find this refreshing spot. Their ownly downside is the service. When we first started going we had this delightful waitress. She was our main reason for coming all the time. We've watched the staff change constantly and lately the young teenagers they hire just aren't up to standard. They are always standing around the front door or out back chatting. Also, don't go on a themed party night. There aren't enough tables and you end up waiting hours for a table. The food is really good. Love their stuffed shrimp, gumbo and fish tacos. Don't miss out on their selection of desserts either!! Especially the bread pudding. Monday night all their on the board specials are under $9.00 making them very affordable. My daughter and I like going on Wednesday for the 1/2 price bottle of wine night which is great for long conversation over dinner and catching up. If you haven't been, at least give them a try!
Good Food! I enjoyed R.K.G. My family is from New Orleans so I grew up on Creole & Cajun cooking. Unless you want to travel to New Orleans or spend all day cooking R.K.G. is an above decent alternative. The menu has everything! Alligator, Boudin, Crawfish, Oxtails, BBQ, Burgers, Shrimp, Stuffed Crabs, etc. He makes a seafood gumbo with whole crabs. The Crawfish Etouffee was very tasty. I personally make mine a little thinner. And, the gumbo was very flavorful and full of crab, shrimp, chicken & sausage. However, I personally like my gumbo minus the okra. I have only been during lunch. But, I plan to try it in the evening when they have a live band. And, the owner is very accommodating. He let me try everything. He catered to me. Good food. Excellent service! They went above and beyond. I would definitely recommend R.K.G.
I lucked out with Crawfish and Noodles...I met a friend of the family and was told to go there. I thought, "Why not...She's a friend; I support local restuarants..." And to my surprise, I fell in love, seriously! I absolutely LOVE spicy food! Even more so, SPICY CRAWFISH!! These crawfish are so spicy there and they're covered with garlic. But the best part is that each crawfish head is full of juice and the meat of the tail has tons of flavor!!! It's not like the other crawfish restuarants in Houston where they sprinkle spicy seasoning on the preboiled crawfish...Crawfish and Noodles must boil they're crawish in the sauce/juice, which they do to perfection!! I mean when I say that this restuarant has made it into my top 5 favorites in Houston...You will not be disappointed!!!!
Can't say enough about the quality experience and level of service we enjoyed again at Houston's spectacular Rainbow Lodge. For years we have made it a requirement to celebrate our anniversary there and every year the experience continues to be world class. From the time we get there until we leave, the staff see to our every wish, the food is always the very best and the atmosphere is as nice as you can find anywhere. A brief call ahead has for years resulted in special reservations treatment that match the occasion. The location is relatively new but the food, service and experience are still as good as they have been ever since our first visit on the bayou many years ago. Great Place with great people, Bob and Jeanne 45yrs…and still going
This is a real Cajun Food Restaurant excluding the Zyedco. The specials are listed on a white "dry marker board" as you enter, as well as the traditionals on a menu behind the counter. Two people can enjoy a great meal and "doggy bag" for approximately $30.00 (depending on what you order). Come here with the idea of eating great food, not dining out. The surroundings are clean, plain and simple. No loud music and dancing (a few TVs to watch the game), you place your order at the counter, find a table (there are adequate number of them), get your own ice tea (if that's what you're drinking) and while waiting, look at what everybody else is eating. I come here quite often (it shows), but I've never have been disappointed!
Our family stopped at this restaurant because we noticed it had a lot of customers. We felt that was an indication of the quality of the food. We weren't wrong. As soon as you walk in the scent of fresh sea food permeates the atmosphere the waitresses are friendly and the prices are reasonable. We ordered the gumbo, the family fried fish & shrimp with mambo rice and fresh lemonades. The fish and shrimp were excellent! The crust is flavorfull and has just the right thickness The fish was oh soooo good. We are from Laredo, Texas so we probably won't get to eat their delicious good for a while. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our meal while it lasted. Will try to come back when we are in the Houston area.
the best mud bugs you'll ever eat!! And it doesn't stop there, you gotta try out some of their fried seafood!! I come here to eat often and I always order the crawfish and pho, but never tried anything from the fried menu. I finally ventured out and ordered some fried catfish, oysters, shrimp and fries and I was not disappointed!! The catfish filet was the biggest and tastiest I've ever eaten. Also ask about the size of the raw oysters, depending on the season they have some of the largest and freshest you'll every try. They also grill them which is great and tasty, but I like'm raw! Crazy thing is that you'll find them here at Houston's very own china town
