I CAN SEE FROM BELOW THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH WALTER. ALWAYS ASKED FOR MONEY UP FRONT, DIDN'T ALWAYS SHOW UP, QUALITY LACKING, WON'T ANSWER PHONE....
Take your chances when you hire Walter. He promised a time frame to complete the job and asked for a big lump sum payment. He would then ask for 25%-30% of the rest each week. He would threaten to stop sending people if his demands are not met. After getting all but a small amount of the contract value and over twice the amount of time has passed, he simply disappeared, leaving a lot of work unfinished. Quality of work is so bad that moldings started to come apart and paint chipped soon after. He would cheat his subcontractors and be prepared to fight legal battles.
We hired them to do a simple bar cabinet, they asked for 1/2 up front, did , the cabinets, and did not finish, missing glass on door, they came to paint first and asked for 25% of remaining half and then they never returned, Left it incomplete, no bar top, no sink, the owner just lies about everything. Will never hire them again.
I would advise anyone considering Brahm Builders to be very careful. I contracted with Martin Brahm to do some work on my home that I rented while I was out of the country. Due to the fact that I would be out of the country when he "completed the work, I paid him the full amount of the work before he had done anything to the house. It was not until my tenants moved out that I noticed several things that I had paid to have done were simply not done. Mr. Brahm claims to have done the work, but it's pretty obvious that things like repairing garage door sensors were never done if the tenants could never use the garage door opener and the sensors were buried in the mud. I originally requested for him to come complete the work, which would seem simple enough. However, he denied my request and has since denied my requests for a refund for the work he has not done.
I have known both Matthew and his wife professionally for two years now. They have done many projects at our house and each one has been nicer than the next. The most recent project was custom cabinetry for our media room. Matthew used my basic suggestions and added his own flair, of course checking with us every step of the way to ensure we were happy with the designs. His work is true craftmanship like you rarely see these days. He kept in constant contact with us throughout the entire process. Matthew is a true professional in every sense of the word. You cannot find better than he and his wife. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
